The only thing we know is that with the bill in place health care cost will fall in line with normal inflation and Medicare in the long run will survive.
I guarantee most americans will notice a difference as soon as the bill is passed. That is when the new taxes will start to take effect. We will be paying for 4 years before the rest actually starts. That is how they say it will save money. 10 years of taxes and revenue for 6 years of healthcare.

Yes you will have a tax increase, but for those with a moderate income, it will be offset by lower premiums. Insurance companies will be required to pay out 80% of collected premiums for service.

The bill addresses some major insurance issues but does nothing to solve the real problem which is healthcare costs. Out of all the profits made in the healthcare industry. Insurance companies profits accounts for 4%. Most of the stuff in the bill will actually increase healthcare costs.

Over the last 10 years it is around 56%. Most insurance companies have between 35 - 45% administrative over cost in terms of premiums, where as Medicare is about 7%. I will say that you have one good point that the bill does not address cost control at the front end. But that would mean socializing it.

You probably don't like the term, but the taxes in this bill are based on a progressive income. It is impossible to read and actually comprehend. to get thru one page you have to reference 20 others. What I have done is googled alot of stuff and looked it up in the bill. I think you need to understand that the CBO report was primarily based on new ways to contain cost in Medicare. Some doctors will notice changes in fees when dealing with seniors. We will see how this works out.

Sadly, Rep Pence is exaggerating the language of the bill. In fact the day after the bill passes, most American's will notice no difference. I actually wish it was a single payer government run health care system. GOP touts doom while dems are claiming some form of victorious relief. Neither are very accurate. The only thing we know is that with the bill in place health care cost will fall in line with normal inflation and Medicare in the long run will survive.

I guarantee most americans will notice a difference as soon as the bill is passed. That is when the new taxes will start to take effect. We will be paying for 4 years before the rest actually starts. That is how they say it will save money. 10 years of taxes and revenue for 6 years of healthcare.

@curlylarrymoe I am assuming you read the bill along with the CBO report? If you had you would notice it does not completely coincide with your comments. Yes you will have a tax increase, but for those with a moderate income, it will be offset by lower premiums. Insurance companies will be required to pay out 80% of collected premiums for service.

The bill addresses some major insurance issues but does nothing to solve the real problem which is healthcare costs. Out of all the profits made in the healthcare industry. Insurance companies profits accounts for 4%. Most of the stuff in the bill will actually increase healthcare costs.

@curlylarrymoe If Dems say that they are mistaken. I read both reports. What s your source for the 3.4%? AHIP reports that most insurance companies have far higher profit margins. Over the last 10 years it is around 56%. Most insurance companies have between 35 - 45% administrative over cost in terms of premiums, where as Medicare is about 7%. I will say that you have one good point that the bill does not address cost control at the front end. But that would mean socializing it.

@curlylarrymoe If you are not wealthy, that is making 150K or less a year (unlike the quote of 250K you may have heard) you have nothing to worry about. Your insurance plan will not be taxed. You probably don't like the term, but the taxes in this bill are based on a progressive income. I will say this the big winners, hospitals and those with catastrophic illness (if you could ever call them winners). Big losers for profit Health insurance companies . For the rest close to neutral.

It is impossible to read and actually comprehend. to get thru one page you have to reference 20 others. What I have done is googled alot of stuff and looked it up in the bill. If the CBO report is actually accurate it would be the first time in history. It has been off by as much as 2600% before. I sure hope thats not the case this time.

I took three days off and a weekend to read and outline the bill and last night struggled through the CBO report (I don't have cable, so I enjoy reading). I think you need to understand that the CBO report was primarily based on new ways to contain cost in Medicare. Some doctors will notice changes in fees when dealing with seniors. We will see how this works out.

It is the worst plan in the world. All other countries have better HC plans. Look at them sometime and ask why are we getting this lousy bill.
