It broke my heart knowing that a brilliant artist like vincent van gogh during his time was often misunderstood by many. His art was never appreciated during that time because they didn't understand van gogh's style in painting. He became famous and his art embraced by many after his death...

Too bad he did not live long i am sad he only lived to 30 years old sold only one painting cut off his ear and had a fight with his friend he died very early because he was very very sick i am so so so so sad he did not live long i know him because or my art teacher she teach me and my class about him and try to paint like him i am not a good painter or drawer all my friends say but i don't care what they say! i always avoid them for saying mean stuff about me

sinds i can remember i love Vincent ,for his work and as a person, i believe there wil never be a man and artist like him again. he was uniek !

august 2010 i went to Auverse Sur Oise ,and spent a day in Vincents town. saw all the places were he painted and lived (Auberge Ravoux). and the garden of Dr Paul Gachet. and the crowfield. and last his Grave.picked some flowers to.

ja, das leben von van gogh war äußerst bemerkenswert. leider nicht nur im positiven. ich war in der albertina ausstellung (wien) und da hat ich noch so einiges über den künstler erfahren was ich vorher gar nicht wußte.

seine geisteskrankheit war mir bekannt, aber dass er dann in eine "irrenanstalt" oder nervenheilanstlt kam wußte ich gar nicht. und dass er dort noch weiterhin bilder gemalt hat war mir auch neu. van gogh ist sicherlich eines der größten genies der kunstgeschichte.

unglaublich diese fantastischen bilder, wenn man bedenkt, dass sich van gogh alles selbst "beigebracht" hat und dabei diesen einzigartigen stil entwickeln konnte. dass er schizophren war und sogar in die "irrenanstalt" eingewiesen wurde, war mit sicherheit der grund für die teilweise sehr düsteren werke in seiner sammlung. ich hab gelesen, dass van gogh zu lebzeiten so gut wie kein bild verkauft hat. erst nach seinem tod wurde sein talent erkannt und er posthum zum millionär...

Along with Edvard Munch, they "invented" expressionism. (I have guarded "The Scream" some time ago, and that was awesome)

Some trivia: Vincent Van Gogh was born 30 March 1852. But he was dead when he was born. His brother was born 30 March 1853! (I was born 30 March 1972, hehe, just fun for me) Vincent was kinda blamed for his brothers death by his mother, and his sisters said he was ugly. So he developed scitzofreny. That is how he came up with his gripping and lovely paintins I belive :)
