I am stuck in choosing between the flip pearl and the curve. I really like the curve because the QWERTY keyboard, but I really like the pearl because the new design on all the new blackberries looks GREAT. Way better than just black and white I think. I'm not sure about typing on the pearl because I've only used T9 on my current phone, and I've used my brother's curve a couple times. Bu its a tough decision since I dont wana waste my money. Any advice?

My bro-in-law has the new flip pearl. It's cute as all heck. The alpha keypad is diff than other phones - as yo know it is two letters per keypad - I know that would hinder my texting capabiliites. Now the curve hands down the easiest and best phone I have ever had. I have had the curve for one year now and no regrets - absoultely none. Hint hint - get the curve.

Dislike - the curve does not allow you to use the phone while you are charging it. I wish the screen for texting was in color it's b&w. Yes, it's the 8330.

I can't help you with your decision. I did take a quick look at the CNET review on the sidekick. It looks decent and has alot of capabilities such as the Berry has. Would I have chosen the sidekick over the Berry? The answer is no because I don't believe Verizon has that model. What I love about the Berry is the size, shape and plain old reliability.

the onlii reason t o get a sidekick over a blackberry is if ur a aim fiend like me on my aim i have over 380 buddies and i like havin aways and ikons up...on a sidekick unlike mobile im a sidekick will show all 380+ ppl on my buddy list and i can h ave ikons i meen its a good phone otherwise for textin but if u want more then j ust texting and iming the curve is better and if u dont care about iming at all the curve is better becuz its more durable

good move with the curve. I have to have a qwerty! I have the curve 8350i now and it has been my 7th try since getting rid of my iphone. I have tried a palm centro, palm treo, samsung instinct, htc diamond, htc touch pro, the peral and now the curve 8350i. I'm pretty happy with it so far!

Now on the curve does it ever like turn off by it self? like while your on the phone? And does the battery hold charge good?

Your question about the curve turning off by itself - there is a cover for the phone that has a magnetic chip so when you put the phone in the cover it does go into sleep mode. Your next question about good battery charge - you will have to learn a few trick. It is better not to leave apps open, if you are planning to have emails linked to ur b/berry and you receive lots of emails it could drain your battery. Hope this helps.

I had the Pearl for 6 days...nothing but problems! I switched to the Curve as of today and so far so good. The SureType of the Pearl is just cumbersome and hard to get used to. Hope you are enjoying the Curve...let me know how you like it so far.

Screen size is better on the curve. I believe the applications are the same but as you pointed out - it's all about the keyboard. Dude, I just love this damn phone. I just put all of my email accounts on the phone and can respond to them effortlessly. You might want to wait for the Verizon Storm which is coming out Nov 21. I think it should be $249.00 w a 2 year or it's either $199.00. In any event I'm extremely pleased with the Curve. The best phone I have ever had.

I completely agree with you on the QWERTY keypad. I got my EnV about a year ago and its so much faster to push a button once for a letter rather than three or four times. Now about the curve... is it an abnormally large phone or is it able to fit in your pocket?
