  • I can't go sword to sword with this guy. Celerity and dragon's breath shot gun.

Funny how it's easier to beat him as a giant bat.

  • When an u get these ridiculous melée weapons? I would like something other than a fire axe

  • HAHA! The flamer owns his balls!

  • Is this a patch to fight him or is it in the game it's self? I don't remember this part even tho it has been a few years since I've played. (I just started playing again.) This looks kick ass. haha I gotta fight him. If it's a patch I just have to figure out how to download && work those damn things.

  • @rainbowluvmyria The Sheriff's part of the game itself; no patch is needed. There's only one ending where you don't have to fight the Sheriff, and that's if you side with LaCroix. Considering that LaCroix called a Blood Hunt on you soon before you make the big choice, you'd have to be a really forgiving individual to pick that one on your own....

  • i love fighting the sheriff with a katana instead of using weapons, now that is truly a HARD WAY.

  • @jin54363 Katanas are weapons. Or did you mean "firearms"?

  • I always thought sheriff is Gangrel, because at the beginning of the game when he is fighting those wild Sabbat members he uses the summon spectral wolf discipline and that insect swarm or something like that discipline, which the Gangrel clan has offered as disciplines to the player. And then he shape shifts in to that giant werebat something creature when you fight him on the roof, so it seems to me he is Gangrel, and if he is not then how is it that he is possessing Gangrel disciplines?

  • @wcdornez The Discipline which summons animals to fight for you is Animalism, which isn't exclusive to Clan Gangrel; Clan Nosferatu claims Animalism too, and in the books it's also a Discipline native to the Nagloper bloodline.

The Discipline which allows vampires to shapeshift into Chiropteran monsters (among other things) is Vicissitude, which players cannot access in Bloodlines. Vicissitude is exclusive to Clan Tzimisce as well as their offshoots, one of which is the Nagloper bloodline.

  • @BloodyBay Ok dude, thanks for the explanation. I never really knew cuz I always play Tremere anyway. I like to have my victims explode with a bloody mess, if you know what I mean.

  • meh, I just cheated and went noclip and chased him around with my infinite-ammoed flamethrower

  • i wanna know what clan the sheriff is.NOW. ah just kidding i believe a gangrel but i want his model playable ._.

  • @Ealija EDIT! i know what he is.hes a nagloper

  • Once you're at this level of the game, the Sheriff isn't all that hard. His little trick of disappearing and appearing behind you is predictable, and with a little practice you can get through this part much quicker than you have here.

The bat form is a pain, but the SPAS15, and/or the flamethrower, can help there.

  • @LemmeLieHere Knocking the Behemoth down with a floodlight, setting him on fire with the flamethrower and watching him take off again is pretty nifty. It's like watching a big, burning meteor flying around.... :-D

  • @BloodyBay LOL yeah that's how I used to do it... fire is fun. But once he's down in the spotlight, I can do more damage with a bush hook, or the TramaLama blade (however the hell you spell it). I hate having to shoot that sucker out of the sky. I have to switch back to a blade every time the Gangrel attack.

The first battle with him, in the ballroom, is more fun. When he disappears, I spin around and take a swing behind me, and he usually appears just in time to take the hit. Dumbass!

  • @LemmeLieHere I just used "Lingering Malaise" on him and blasted him with the assault rifle. Took under 10 seconds.

  • Goddamned Sherriff and his big Cloud Strife fetish

  • if this is the hard way , then what's the easy way?

  • @notaMONSTERbutaDEVIL Spamming Blood Strike...as you would have seen if you had bothered to watch that video.

  • what is the race of the sheriff?

  • @HappyBuddha100 If you mean the Clan, then he's a Gangrel, but if you're racist, then he's white and american, lol.

  • @UrielTheInevitable lol i'm not racist, i was talking about his clan name, thanks for telling me

  • @HappyBuddha100 Don't mention it. And btw I was just joking ;)

  • @UrielTheInevitable Actually, if you chat with LaCroix and a few others, it turns out that LaCroix found the Sheriff in Africa some 100 years back. And given the Sheriff's Tzimisce-like abilities, it's widely accepted that the Sheriff is a Nagloper, one of the Bloodlines of African vampires. Which would make the Sheriff a big, burly, mutated, undead, native African black man. With a Buster Sword. ;-p

  • @BloodyBay Yeah, I found it out two mounths ago. Now the only mistery is: why does a sword hurts like lycan's fangs and claws? ò_ò

  • @UrielTheInevitable Because the Sheriff is really big and burly, I guess. The sword does less damage than a katana when YOU wield it. o.o

  • @BloodyBay Yeah, but, you know, that sword does supernatural damage, that's the thing I can't really understand! ò_ò

  • @UrielTheInevitable his clan is nagloper

  • what clan is the sherif from

  • @plaguedpuppet Nagloper.

  • @BloodyBay thank you

  • @fuhrerschein2008

Were You using an 'F8' button?

It's a button to stop a discipline that you're using now.

  • I used the Steyr Aug for ranged characters and the Ra blade for melee characters and I did fine almost without using any abilities. Wasn't that hard if you were careful. The only trick is to point the searchlight towards the bat form with melee characters. When he is down, it's slice and dice/lead eating time.

  • In the first time I ended the game, I didn't know about the light canon when killing the CHIROPTERAN, so I killed him with "suicide" and desert eagle, LOL.

  • Suicide? o.O

  • Yes, the hability from Ventrues. I think it makes the target Suicide himself, but in stronger enemies it inflict a high damage =p

  • Hey, I played this game a while ago and thought it was fantastic. Can anybody RECOMMEND me a game that is similiar to this style of gameplay and (for a bonus) atmosphere. It doesn't necessarily need to be a vampire game. Thx.

  • @SkaterK3 ...and I just now noticed that you Copy-Pasted the exact same question in ALL of my VTMB videos. Not cool.

  • Celerity + Katana for the sheriff,

Celerity + .44 Magnum for the birdie.

    Long fight but easy.

  • As long as you have bloodbags, the Odious Chalice and plenty of rooftop goons to help you keep Celerity going continuously, you're golden. :-)

  • can i ask whats so hard about flaming him? X_x

  • Continuously? Didn't you notice how the Sheriff flails around helplessly when you successfully set him on fire? That's the time to conserve your napalm and switch to the sword; otherwise you run out of napalm too soon, and you don't get to set him on fire and lock him down anymore.

You're also more likely to run out of napalm before fighting the Chiropteran Behemoth, and setting him on fire works too.

How's that for an answer? O_o

  • i think hes akanuse, see he uses abomwe, not vissitude.

  • No, I'm pretty sure that the Chiropteran form is Vicissitude 6. Why the game calls it "Chiropteran Behemoth" instead of "Chiropteran Marauder", I do not know. Either way, it's a nasty form in PnP; a pity that my own Tzimisce Antitribu never got past Horrid Form (Vicissitude 4)...not that Horrid Form's a slouch either, mind you....

  • @BloodyBay Well, obviously he cant be tzimice, but hes likely a nagaloper, if hes using chiropteran for.

NAGALOPER, THE HORRORS OF THE DARK CONTINENT.

btw i didnt know there were tzimice attribu, ive only heard of laosombras within the camarilla.

    plz respond.

  • @Paradoxical003 I know about the Nagloper bloodline, its descent from Clan Tzimisce and the similarities and differences between the two. I've had those

related annotations in my "Duel with the Sheriff (The Brutal Way)" video for months.

  • @Paradoxical003 As for Tzimisce Antitribu, they exist in Vampire canon, but they're not very common. And of the ones who exist, most of them are Independent; Camarilla Tzimisce Antis are very rare. My own Anti started off Indie but ended up joining the Camarilla for protection from her former peers in the Sabbat. She spent a lot of time reversing the alterations inflicted by Sabbat Tzimisce, of course. The Camarilla was pretty stoked to have a Vicissitude wielder on THEIR side. :-)

  • @BloodyBay just be sure to watch your back, the hunt is likely upon you for that fateful move.

  • @Paradoxical003 With the Camarilla's protection, a small army of loyal ex-patients AND Horrid Form? I'll take my chances. >:-)

  • I hate blood shield. After using it the first time, due to some bug, my Tremere looked bloody for the rest of the whole game.

  • That actually sounds kind of nifty. :-)

  • I'm getting the same bug, and it's driving me nuts. I tried everything! At least I don't get masquerade violations all over the place :/

  • that happened to me while i was doing my slashing job in gallery noir for jeanette...but then it disappeared somehow.

  • whats that purple thing under the odious chalice?

  • Tremere-specific artifact that Strauss gives you as a pressie if you're Tremere and help him out. It boosts Thaumaturgy damage.

  • The easiest(non cheating xD) way of winning the first stage of the fight with a treme is simply using blood purge and hitting him with the sword(or shooting him^^)

  • I didn't try touching that guy with melee. Of course I ran, turned around and aimed my suicide/shotgun.

    That flamethrower sure is effective.

  • I tried the guns at first too. Circling the banister on the 2nd floor backwards while shooting him the whole time. Was ridiculously hard and ineffective Couldnt get him below 1/4 of his health that way.

  • the thing with blood shield is that you must renew that dicipline all over again, cuz it gets weaker if you take enough damage

but seems you managed just fine :P

    gg

  • Oh man - the sheriff!! I remember my Toreador running in circles around the gallery and later downstairs..stopping from time to time to hit the sheriff! I got him this way - using a LOT of blood potions!!^^

  • i know that theres a posibility to get sherifs sword but How ????

  • It's a cheat code. I'm still piecing together a video where I go through Ming Xiao's temple and the Venture Tower with it. The Sheriff's sword looks impressive, but its damage is wretched; a katana could probably do more damage than that monster.

  • how can i do that

    have there weapons etc

  • Does anyone know what clan the Sheriff is? Gangrel, right?

  • He's actually one of the African Kindred, and he seems to be a Nagloper, African vampires whose most similar Western counterpart would be Clan Tzimisce. The Sheriff's Clan is never revealed in-game, but his characteristics most closely match those of a Nagloper and LaCroix did find him in Africa a century ago; Considering that Naglopers aren't well received by other African vampires, it may have been quid pro quo: "You serve as my bodyguard, and I'll help you escape your enemies" or somesuch.

  • Thanks :)

  • Anytime. :-)

  • He might Have Gangrel in him because the ability to turn into a giant bat sounds like the Master Protean ability "Shape of the Beast's Wrath"

  • Actually, turning into a giant batlike monster is more like Vicissitude 6: Chiropteran Marauder. IIRC (from thumbing through [i]Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom[/i], a book I wish I'd actually bought while I had the chance...), Naglopers possess Vicissitude as a Clan Discipline. I've heard them called the "Tzimisce of Africa" on the old White Wolf forums, so I can't be too far off the mark. ;-)

  • Dang it...regular BBCode's not working. How do we add bold text or italics on here, anyway

  • And even when you fight him the name under the Health Bar for his Bat form is Chiropterean Marauder or something along those lines...

  • Well, when i read the (hard way) i tought u were going to beat his bat form without using the the spotlights...

I mean, the first part of the fight is easy as hell no matter how u aproach it, so that ain't much of an acomplishment =/

  • Well, gee, aren't you Billy Bad-Ass....

Sure, I COULD do it without the spotlights...if I didn't mind spending 20 minutes just running around, waiting for the Behemoth to pop up and putting a slug or two into him before he flies back below to grab something else to throw at me, while I deal with the War Forms and enforcers all the while. It wouldn't make for a nice, short YouTube video (or two or three, given the 10-minute limit). You have two floodlights. Might as well put them to work.

  • wait...you can use spotlights to help kill him!?!?!? I had fought him with just the shotgun...WOW! now im upset

  • yeah same. I had to keep feeding on the enemies that showed up to save myself.

  • if you knew the batman scene well enough it should have flashed across your mind XD

  • lol im impressed you even killed him like that :p

  • Christof Romuald lo avrebbe distrutto in molto meno tempo, ha già avuto a che fare con Tzimisce molto più forti dello Scheriffo..

  • Hmmmm...right. I guess. *smiles and nods*

  • Peccato non abbiano fatto un seguito di Redemption, magari rendendo giocabile la Gehenna e dando una fine *official*...

  • Oh, non ho alcuna redenzione video. Altre persone su YouTube fare, però.

    (How did I do? :) )

  • Sì li ho caricati io nei miei video, guardali. ;)

  • brujah were my fav too, raw vampire strengh :) All in all it was one of the most athmospheric games imo, need to install it again and play through!

  • God DAMMIT! I didn't see that light there! I had to shoot the bastard out of the sky... poor, pathetic me. Took, me like 12 tries too!

  • There are actually two floodlights on the roof, so if the Behemoth screams and breaks one, you can still blind him and ground him with the other. The only hard part is getting around those everspawning War Forms trying to stop you; I can deal with the Behemoth screaming at me and throwing cars, but those War Forms really tick me off sometimes.

  • i didn't notice them too

  • Totally agreeing with batcountryrox

    These games RULE!!

  • I preferred the Malkavian, but I also love Tremeres. Just too bad the Tzimisce intend on destroying you blood mages. Too bad... They can flesh crash, you can blood craft. Inner. Outer. What lovely game!

  • And you know, that's one thing which would have benefitted both Vampire games: Making Tzimisce and Vicissitude accessible to players. But man, Vicissitude can do fifty-billion different things. Can you imagine the staggering amount of code which would go into a feature like that? :-?

  • Well actually they could stick with a few simple Vicissitude powers like Horrid Form and Body Arsenal. The one giviing you serious defence bonus and the other an extremely good combat bonus and also allowing you to do aggravated damage.Something like th original RPG.

  • Oh, Horrid Form in the original RPG gave you a LOT more than toughness and body armor, believe me. My Tzimisce antitribu eventually worked her way up to Horrid Form, and it was marvelous for turning her--this slender, humble, frail-looking surgeon--into a towering, berserk beast of war. Talk about unpleasant surprises. >:-D

Too bad the campaign fizzled out soonafter. But I still have Dr. Donna van Holtsen's character sheet. :-)

  • Did you ever created a Vozhd.I know that this mammoth sized fleshcrafting construct would attract the kind of attention that even the Sabbat doesn't want, but it would be really funny watching it laying waste to your foes, yourself and generally anyone caught in it's path.

  • Heh...nah, you pretty much have to be a Tzimisce Elder to create a vozhd (and my Tzimisce anti was only 10th Gen). I think it's either Vicissitude 6 or Vicissitude 7 which allows you to create a vozhd, and it takes at least a dozen ghouls or mortals to do the job. Vozhd do have some very intimidating stats though, and a rendezvous with a Voivode my pan-WoD campaign ended with the party's Wendigo taking on a vozhd (and winning, but not by much).

  • This is true. The story alone (and all the little ways it could diverge) kept me coming back for more.

  • 4 sum reason i prefer the BRUJAH as mi to p clan choice casue in reality all ive ever wanted is more strenght and speed and brujah has them both ive neva been in2 magic so i wouldnt no wat 2 do if i wer a tremer or a toreodore etc lol

  • I'm...going to need a translator for this one. Something about Brujah buried in an ocean of "txt tlk lol".... :-/

  • VTMB is best FUKING RPG followed by Blood Rayne 2 OMFG imagine JEANETTE n Rayne in Vamp lesso Anime action LMAO

  • THIS GAME IS FVCKING CRAZY, THE HAUNTED HOTEL IN SANTA MONICA HAS GOT BE THE BEST MISSION. IT'S SO SURREAL. the boiler room moment!

  • yea .... but offcourse i couldn't complete the task of fighting the waking dead in the cemetry ....So i became a pimp ... that was the only impossible thing to me

  • Thaumaturgy ruled the roost when I had to do that with Circe. Blood Strike helped pick them off from range, but Blood Purge was more useful at stopping massed advances on the gate; Stun all the zombies with Blood Purge, then go Ginsu crazy with your sword. :-)

  • i killed him using the machine gun so fast but for sure not as fast as you "easy way"

  • Oh, the Steyr Aug did a number on him in my "Brutal way" video too! Pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop...*changes to Chiropteran Behemoth* Uh oh. :-)

  • i completed the game with using the bloodbuff only ......nothing else

  • Blood Buff's not a slouch power either; It costs a good chunk of Blood Pool, but maxing out all of your Physical attributes has a way of making you a killing machine in hand-to-hand.

So I take it you took all the Experience you saved on not improving Disciplines and spent it on Attributes and Abilities? I should try that approach.

  • a little dark, but a good game and upload. 4 stars.

  • It shows up just fine on my monitor, but then again my monitor's an LCD monitor. If I watch this video at work (where all of the monitors are ye olde CRT's), the video's pretty dark. Maybe my monitor's just the exception, not the norm.

I wish Windows Movie Maker included a gamma correction feature.... :-/

  • Well, you made a good video man.Thank you for the upload.

  • Anytime. Maybe I should make a "Duel with the Sheriff: The REALLY HARD Way" video with no Disciplines at all, just to see if I could pull it off. It's a thought. :-)

  • It's actually not that hard - in the swordfight, your 3 hit combo includes a roll, correct? That roll conveniently carries you under the slash.

Battle with the big bat beastie, I just pull out my biggest pistol (I forget which one - so long since I've played this) and run around. This is the hard part...use many bloodpacks here.

Tremere - good luck doing it without the shield...

  • Done and done! "Duel With the Sheriff: The Brutal Way" has been posted. Feel free to stop by and see how I did it. :-)
