I have a blind cat. He's actually really good at moving around the house, but if something is misplaced then he ends up bumping into stuff. It'd be sad if it weren't so funny (don't worry, he's never gotten hurt)
our cat once ran into me head first then all of us were freaking out it was blind... later that day a doctor confirmed she can see. the cats so clumsy
this reminds me of the time where i was walking through my grandmas nursing home and there was this blind cat at one of doors 2 the rooms and it was walking all wrong and it was making mewing sounds as if it were scared it made me cry
why feel terrible? why pity? sugar is not a poor, pitiful cat. please be happy for her as she is a healthy active nearly normal cat. i have to tell most people she is blind because you may not know it otherwise... until you watch her run into something.
Sugar also has amazing hearing and sense of smell. she does not know she is blind either. she confuses the heck out of the other 2 cats in the house. they have figured out she can not see and try to take advantage of her. she can usually foil their playful attacks.
@nopeecee My friend's cat is so funny and creepy. Very old, going on 12 and lost its vision sometime in that lifespan. Its eyes are fully dilated and it will stare right into your eyes if it hears you. Though, since it can't see and goes by smell, it hated me because I smelt like dog. Hissed right away..
sugar needs nothing designed. she gets around better than my sighted cats. case in point is the mouse she plays with. she took the squeeker out of it. she can hear the fuzz on the mouse slide across the floor and can even hear it when it flys thru the air from throwing it.
Ooooh! thats the chirping mouse toy! my 'sighted' cats don't pay much attention to it, but i bet sugar loves it as it emits audio stimuli! great toy pick!
Hurray, there are more blind cats. I have some videos about my cat Gus here on YouTube. He decided to fetch maple leaves and bring them to me.
One of the things that Gus does when he plays with his toys, is he will lay on them and meow at the sky. I hope to get a clip of that and put it up here.
you will not regret owning a blind cat. they are wonderful. i was very much against having Sugar until i spent 10 minutes with her. now i wouldnt give her up for anything.
What a cute little kitty! I just found out that a kitten I fostered last year was returned by the family that had adopted him. Upon his return our organization took him to the vet and we discovered that he had been blind since birth (I had no clue about this while I was fostering him). It's truly amazing how well these kitties adapt, and now I am hoping to adopt him for myself... :o)
"Sugar" is very beautiful! She certainly loves chasing her toy. I also love how she comes right up to the camera at the end - LOL! Nothing shy about this girl! Mary
I have a blind cat too and he is completelly normal. Can play so easy as yours :)

what kind of help do you need?
nopeecee 3 years ago
Well From the shock it's sence can't help it can't eat normaly and can't drink anything I'm very worried
maniakatosheto 3 years ago
you should talk to your kitty often. i believe it will eat when it gets hungry enough. it will take some time for it to cope with the blindness.
