i actually wish that hanschen had his own song and scene for the masturbation part. because he has this very large monologue in the play that was shortened a ton in the musical :( but i think rather than a dramatic character, they made hanschen more of a funny/comedic relief character which i totally approve of anyways :)
Another song, entitled "Great Sex" (which was intended to be performed after "Mama Who Bore Me (Reprise)"), was also cut from the show because the directors thought the song pointed out the theme of the show too specifically. It was intended to be performed during Hanschen's masturbation scene, but the song was removed and the scene moved into the middle of "My Junk"
i love the guitar on this :) and can see it fitting with hanschen's desdemona bit but i think junk works better cos of the beat. but does anyone know who would've been singing this?
The thing is, this song points out the theme of Spring Awakening's story too obviously and vaguely. It's just not fitting for the show, it's just too wierd. I like the songs that are already in the show that refer to sex through countless euphemisms.
yeah, i'm glad this got cut. This is such a hideous song. I like all the sex there is in the show, but if they put this one in, the show would be disgraced and probably wouldn't receive any tonys!
I can't tell whether it's unintentionally or intentionally hilarious, but I'm cracking up. This would have been great comic relief-- can you take anyone seriously who says, "La da da, great sex, in and out and in, great sex"?

lol no, thank god this got cut. its apalling! well the song itself isnt but in context with the muical it is actually dreadful! wierd because every single other song in it is amazing!
Is it bad that I really... really like this song? I've grown to love it so much!!! I love all of these old songs so much, I'm actually very sad they didn't make it to Broadway. :) Thanks so much for posting!
I completely agree! I don't understand how the same team that created wonderful songs like "The Mirror-Blue Night" also made this. But I guess bad songs make us like the good ones even more! :)
In and out and in.....

@michaelrules156
yes and no, my junk was already in the show..... they added the scene in the middle of my junk to replace this song.

This song was to be placed during Hanschen's masturbation scene It was removed because it pointed out the theme of the story to specifically.

This song is just not good. Sorry Mr. Sheik! Rest of your spring awakening songs are great, this one, not so much.

this is the funniest song i have heard in a while. haha! but its really not up to the standard the other songs are !
jastully 2 years ago 2
The lyrics are sparse because, in between them, Hanschen is supposed to be saying his monologue. It works better if you hear it that way.
benjywho 2 years ago 2
Which monologue? The "skim off the cream" one?
Doxygurl 2 years ago
No, the one about Desdemona that now takes place during 'My Junk'.

this is hysterical; I love it!

This is so excellently funny in a very vague, serious way. I understand completely why it was cut, but I still love it.
