  • I was under the impression that Tai meant "body" and belt is "obi" in Japanese?

  • @Judokkaa . That is a different character. Taito is 帯刀(to wear your sword). Tai you are talking about is 体. And that is not what we use for taito. Sometimes one Japanese character has two ways to read it. So 帯(obi) also can be read as "tai". 刀 as well. It can be read as katana, but it can be read as to.
