  • Das ist ja schon abartig.

  • i enjoyed the anime i dont know why so many dont like it... but then again i started with anime then started in the manga so thats probably why

  • I don't get this, can anyone explain?

  • @JackinTheLastCoockie K. people are retards and keep on dying, aliens are overpowered, and the protagonist acts like a dick sometimes.

  • @JackinTheLastCoockie This is clips from the series Gantz. In Gantz, when people die some are given a second chance at life. But to get the second chance, you have to survive a nightmare of aliens trying to kill you, and it's kill or be killed.

  • the anime is just horrible,26 eps and looks like a stupid montage, but the manga is just perfect.

In the manga they are in the kathastrophe, but the anime have just three missions and a stupid filler.I hope they do a remake, just to appreciate a little more the manga that is so perfect

  • 3:53 FALCON PUNCH!!

  • shit...i was listening to the song until 3:18...i got leukemia :(

  • japs r sick

  • 100 ways to die.

  • it's really sad when one song fits perfectly with everyone in an anime

  • FATALITY!!

  • so where does this anime end chapter 80?

  • this is amazing! haha, i love this song soo much.

  • Anime should've stopped after the temple boss. Eps after the temple was just lame. ending sucked very much they could've done such a better job or not let everyone die in the temple and have a happy ending like. but nooo fucking directors and producers >_>

  • @Forgottenshadowdream they were following the manga stoeyline up to the 3rd anime mission (the temple mission). the director thus had to come up with an ending to close out the anime version. he made some shitty decisions that didnt follow the logic or emotion of the manga, and fucked it up. but the anime up to that point is awesome. anyone interested in film making, especially action, should watch it and pay attention to the framing, camera angles, and soundtrack. it is brilliant.

  • @Forgottenshadowdream did you read the manga

  • Manga is much better.

  • @Mr1337box you right

  • it is the shitty anime i've ever seen. this is fucking awesome! too bad that the manga have more stories but the anime with dubbing is shit load of shitty shit!

  • Very nice anime. Its only sad the anime is stopped so far :P

Only thing what i dont get. Why is some parts the blood censored when the most of the time everywhere are guts and blood

  • @dinkietoy1 its not censored. i think you are seeing a spray effect.

  • greatest anime

  • 0:27 ew he just wipes it of whats wrong with them killen a helpless kid thinggy

  • oh yeah and the "jump in front of a subway train" shoulda been the other guy that really did jump in it i believe episode 21? or something

  • i think when you showed that pic of Nishi or whatever you shouldve shown like all the people who died while the song was saying "those the people who died" instead of just one picture of him but yeah i liked this video

  • nice music xD

  • watch high school of the dead episode 1

its a new anime with zombies!!!!

    *creepy* o.o

  • What is song

  • hey.. im looking for an anime thats like gantz/death note/ code geass.. somthing that has a good story.. can anyone help me out?

  • @05cinnamon786 try out Monster. It was very good. Spiral had a similar feel to death note/code geass but it does have like forced humor that gets annoying at times. Also Full Metal Alchemist was a good one.

  • thx.. i'll try it out. already seen FMA but havent read the rest of the manga.

  • have you seen the old 2 seasons or the new version of it? cause they are re-releasing the serie as FMA: Brotherhood wich follows the manga to the end.

  • to start out, stop watching deathnote and code geass.

    they don't have good stories.

try watching good anime, and im sure you will figure it out

  • i thought it was pretty good. the intensive psychological battle between two sides.. with different views of justice. also the gundam battles was done pretty well.

  • watch elfen lied, vandread, solty rei, berserk, gungrave, and higurashi.

soon after you will realize how bad deathnote, and code geass are

  • i thought it was pretty good.. the intensive psychological battle with the different views of justice and the gundam battle was pretty well done.. nice character development too.. i would have to say that deathnote is one of the unique animes ive seen

  • suck ym dick

  • @ZabuzaSOULESS feel sorry for u fuc* u

  • Elfen Lied, Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen and Welcome to the NHK! are animes with great stories and are worth watching. promise :-)

  • @Rhypophobie loool i've seen all those animes. yeah they are pretty good.. and the art work for those are amazing

  • @05cinnamon786 higurashi no naku koro ni. first season is dubbed as "when they cry". a brilliant anime one of the best ever i think.

  • i heard the girl dies by acid falling on her is it true? i thought i saw it from a killer gantz psychosocial amv too, it was fucking brutal.

  • @Fluffypopcicle kinda, the kannon statue throws acid at kato and she jumps in front of it to save him.

  • kinda isn't really the answer i was looking. did she "officially" die or not? it's a simple yes or no question.

  • i thought it was pretty clear, but yes she died. i dont know what u mean by officially?

  • you said kinda, so i wasn't sure what you meant by "kinda".

  • oh i see. i said kinda, meaning the acid didnt fall on her, it was thrown as an attack. she did die for sure, and as of chapter 311 has not been brought back.

  • @adgato75

lol that just leads me to another question. you say she hasn't been brought back. are you saying she can be resurrected?

  • SPOILERS lol yeah in the anime it only shows the first couple missions and no one gets 100 points. if you get 100 pts. you can leave the game, get a stronger weapon, or resurrect a dead player. most of the characters die and are resurrected at some point.

  • just go and read the mangas. they are WAY better cause they go a whole lot deeper in the hell hole that is the Gantz game. A LOT deeper...

you will not believe what happens in the last chapter if i tell you!

  • let me guess...jesus comes and saves them all :D

  • way off...

its more like the apocalypse.... the USA have been destroyed in about a day and the invaders from outer-space are coming to japan, killing all and enslaving what's left for reasons unknowned.

    i'm NOT joking there.

  • nice, but did they bring that one girl back to life?

  • hes not.

  • lolz

  • WOOOT wait is that idiot song :P

  • gantz manga is the best manga series i've read and it's one of the top rated XD

chapter 310 on one not that popular site had over 100 000 views in 2 hours since the upload

  • Gantz > Elfen Lied

  • NEVER!!!!!!!!!Elfen lied had on of the greats plot twist since death note:Plight my you rest in peace who was the good one light or L???????:P

  • Comment removed

  • @brollyhero99 LoL Are u kidding me? Gantz is good but there isn't comparission with Elfen Lied >)

  • I thought Nishi was cool . . until he went all wimpy D: Kei is the badass through and through.

  • @MixiAiko no way, nishi's death scene is part of what makes him awesome. it gives him some depth, as opposed to seeming one-dimensional. he is only like 14 years old when he dies in the game and thats a pretty normal response to a lingering death like his, even for a nutjob psycho like nishi.

  • eww why are people saying that this anime is similar to elfen lied?,this is way better

  • Probably cuz peoples arms won't stop falling off.

  • yeah, but the storyline of this was epic

  • :P Spam

  • i have never seen this anime so why is everything exploding?

  • their guns make things explode, and also they have a chip in their heads that explodes if they don't cooperate in the game

  • aaahhhhh gotcha

  • Disgusting shit

    1*

  • music-5

    anime-4

  • why cant all animes have blood like that.. that was intence.. LOL

  • The "goreness" is kind of weird...though it's not something I can't handle.

    I'll try watching it now.

  • you did an amazing job on this amv someone should make an amv with the song black hole sun i think it fits perfectly

  • elfen lied: good anime with the good storyline, blood is not always everywere and at least the nudity doesn't make you feel that is a hentai or ecchi anime you just ignore it

now gantz: weird anime with WTF story, the blood when i saw it just make feel sick, and the nudity makes me feel that is hentai

folks, i don't know if you agree with me or not but is just a comment n_n

  • Id say one average Elfen Lieds a lot weirder then Gantz it starts off with a girl blowing peoples heads clear off and the next scene; wasn't she pissing on the floor?

How was that not weird! Is weird even bad or a complaint?

Besides your other complaints are its to violent, and there's to much sex and nudity.

Its a mature anime if that's a flaw to you maybe its not the kinda show *you* should be watching.

  • Great AMV and great editing/timing. It is as simple as that. 5 stars.

  • HAHAHAH FUNNY!

  • like the scene of nishis death. its very believable, and especially in light of the things he said in the room previously, the way he flips 180 degrees and is frightened, ithink thats very true to life

  • Goes to show, don't shoot a spring onion.

  • also the psychology of everyday people placed in extraordinary, violent situations is spot on.

  • maybe so but the dominant emotion and what gantz does best in the anime is the nihilism of violence. the pain and hopelessness of the characters is rendered better than any other anime i think. too bad they fucked it up in the last couple eps.

  • @adgato75 No one mattered. So couldn't they just make him get transfered back before the train, then they could continue with the manga, I mean the only true character was Kei

  • @Milkmanfire i suppose, but i think the anime is fine as is, except that the last couple eps were complete garbage. it would be cool if it continued i guess, but i wouldnt want it to become a long series filled with useless filler and stretched out for no reason. i think the manga got much worse after the apocalypse arc. unoriginal ideas, plot holes and streeeeeeeetched out chapters.

  • @adgato75 Yeah Gantz is great but it's bleak as hell.

  • @adgato75 that and its the anitomically graphic

  • @adgato75 Hey Dude they dont fucked it up. Read the Manga there u can see the further story. You can call the anime Season 1 from the Manga "GANTZ"

But i dont think they will produce it any further

  • @DragonStylez84 i have been reading the manga. when i said the anime fucked it up in the last few eps. i was referring only to the anime. the last few eps were written by the anime's director because the anime had caught up to the anime timeframe so they had to tack on an ending, and it was awful. although, on that subject, i DO think the manga went down hill beginning with the "apocalypse" storyline.

  • @adgato75 i mean the anime had caught up to the manga's storyline :). typo.

  • Elfen Lied isn't as good as Gantz I think.

After watching them both, EL is just more of a romance.

  • Elfen Lied is not simply romance, though. If we're talking the Gantz anime (instead of its manga, which I'm still catching up on), then Elfen Lied wins (in my view). The best animes are the ones that deeply touch people. Elfen Lied is not only great with the blood and gore, but also the romance (the main love story) and the touching backstories of other characters. I love the Gantz anime, but it did not enthrall me as much as Elfen Lied did. The Elfen Lied anime is a masterpiece, in my view.

  • And, really, we should say love story instead of a romance when it comes to the main romantic aspect of Elfen Lied, but oh well.

  • Lol I would agree if we talk in terms of Anime but I meant the manga.

The manga shows just how far a human will go to preserve their own life and survive, what they'll sacrifice to live and what lengths they'll go to make sure no one else will endanger them.

You see humanity at it's lowest. You also see amazing depth behind many characters and what they struggle with constantly.

Elfen Lied I liked for a long time but like everyone else, I began to lose the interest in it.

  • I get your points. That's why I said in terms of the animes as well, especially since I'm still catching up on Gantz manga. I've only watched Elfen Lied once so far all the way through. I will never lose true interest in it, but it's not something I have watched over and over again. I usually don't watch animes that I like/love over and over again. It doesn't mean that they are not good enough to cause me to do that; it's just that that's how I usually am; I like to move on to the next anime.

  • Mmmkay.

I just personally found Elfen Lied leaned too much into romance.

She loves him and she gets the wrong idea so she kills everyone and scars him then he forgives her and gets with her.

If you read the manga for Elfen Lied you find out he never forgives her in it.

    Much different =O

Yush I know you're talkin about the anime ;]

  • I just don't get how Elfen Lied can typically be termed romance, though. Some people laugh when people even try to term it as an Ecchi anime. There is no "true romance" in it, unless you count those two as children bonding. It is a love story with gore and violence, yes, but it is not exactly romantic (unless, as I said, you count their bonding as children to have been romantic; if they were teenagers when that bonding happened, then I'd be more willing to call that time period romantic).

  • But like I said before, I feel that the love story of Elfen Lied brilliantly balances out the gore and violence, and that the love story is one of the main things that pulled people into the story. I loved all the little sad stories in Elfen Lied and how it was/is all pulled together. But that's me.

And, oh, I meant to say, some people laugh when it is termed as a harem anime; I did not mean to say Ecchi.

  • i personally never watched elfen lied not because of the gore and romance is because of the art style if i dont like the art style i dont watch it even if i hear good things about it

  • I think that's being to nice to Elfen Lied XD

That show has no re watch value at all.

Gantz while it may not have been executed in the anime perfectly like you said has a lot of depth to the idea.

  • SilentFishHeads, I'm not sure about its rewatch value, but Elfen Lied was certainly one of the better animes I have ever seen. I felt it was simply brilliant. I would watch it again. But neither it nor Gantz make me want to watch them over and over again. I rather remember them as great stories that I would not mind watching over again.

  • I thought the Elfen Lied Anime was terrible. The plot amounted to nothing (as far as the diclonius was concerned), the violence added no real meaning to the show (unlike Gantz), it had no thought-proviking themes (unlike Gantz yet again), and the characters were unrealistic (She killed his family and when he finds out, he forgives her--completely unrealistic, and not even close to what the manga was either!). Manga's much better.

  • uzumaki12345678910, I gotta disagree with you about the Elfen Lied anime. Why? I already explained in my other comments. It definitely had thought-provoking themes, like child molestation (that little girl getting sexually abused). The violence? Went hand-in-hand with who Lucy was; the meaning was there. And you say it was unrealistic? Only parts of it, as goes for the majority of Japanese animes...seeing as a lot of them include supernatural or science-fiction elements (Gantz included).

  • So, child molestation is thought-provoking? What thoughts were provoked when you watched this part of the series--poor little girl? Of course, you're supposed to feel sorry for her, she was molested, but that doesn't make it thought-provoking!! The violence: like I said to Sizeet, being violent is Lucy's nature, but this still isn't thought-provoking!! And I said that the CHARACTERS were unrealistic (as in their reactions to most situations).

Gantz has ethical dilemmas, Elfen Lied doesn't!

  • Yes, child molestation is thought-provoking; but that was just one example of thought-provoking themes from Elfen Lied. Sizeet listed part of the rest. The violence was not just about Lucy's nature, as Sizeet made clear with thoughts from the director. The character's were not that unrealistic in terms of what drove them. Elfen Lied does not have ethical dilemmas? Wrong. It has plenty of them, obviously.

I'll just say there is a reason Elfen Lied is considered a masterpiece by many fans.

  • And I do mean the Elfen Lied anime.

  • You haven't argued anything new that convinces me of your opinion. You say Elfen Lied (the anime) has ethical dilemmas, so why don't you tell me some of them, because I can't recall any!

If you are incapable of imparting in words explicit instances that are attestations for your position, then I suppose that you are too incapable of persuading me.

If it makes you feel better, just admit that it's your opinion. I shall respect and tolerate your unrhetorical argument as mere personal belief.

  • You have not argued anything that convinces me of your opinion. Yes, it is your opinion, not fact. Both Sizeet and I have argued our points well, and yet you dispute what are clearly thought-provoking themes in Elfen Lied simply because you want to make Elfen Lied out to be a senseless, violent anime. Oh, so it's so praised simply because of all the gore and titty shots? Whatever. I do not have to convince or persuade you of anything. If you are that needy, I cannot help you.

  • I disagree: neither of you have argued your points well (not for me anyway, but that's just because I require GOOD persuasion), and the fact that you've now resorted to personal attacks--making me out as a "needy"(?) person and assuming that I want to make Elfen Lied appear to be senseless violence and T&A--proves that your argument (more so than Sizeet's) is weak and unconvincing.

That's all I have to say. Goodbye.

  • You can disagree all you want. You are wrong, and most anime fans agree with me. And personal attacks? You resorted to that first, with what I am supposedly "too incapable" of doing. You even condescended to me after that. Remember all that? Your whole argument has been about how Elfen Lied is just senseless violence with no depth. Yep, weak indeed. And goodbye.

  • From Wikipedia: "In the comments made by director Mamoru Kanbe on the Elfen Lied website, he intended for the anime to question and discuss values based on the way in which humans divide each other by difference, as well as the belief that atrocities such as those committed by Lucy in the series are strongly influenced by the way in which people are treated by their fellow beings."

It certainly seems to me that Elfen Lied had thought-proving themes.

    And, uploader...good Gantz video.

  • I meant "thought-provoking," not "thought-proving," LOL. I hate typos.

  • Obviously! That's not thought-provoking, that's just background that explains Lucy's violent nature. Gantz was different, because it questioned the violence that the members committed, especially in the 2nd season.

  • Not thought-provoking? The director lists the themes in that interview plain as day, the themes he wanted to provoke emotions in people. And it worked. It made me think about the horrors of child sexual abuse and how that bastard should have had his balls ripped off, it made me think about how if little children or older kids did not tease each other as much, some of the violence in schools would not happen (though teasing of Lucy was extreme with that dog ). It made me think etc., etc., etc.

  • And what other thought-provoking themes does Elfen Lied have? These: "The series frequently discusses the events and treatment which define the human character in such a way, and the problems which arise from discrimination, as well as the wild contrasts between compassion and vengeance between fellow humans.

Themes such as genocide and the attempts to 'purify' the earth from each other also appear in the anime between Diclonius and humans."

    Enough said.

  • 1.Themes don't have to be thought-provoking--they could merely be the expression of the creator's paradigm, or the manifestation of societal vice (the latter being what I believe to be of Elfen Lied's themes).

2.Wanting someone's "balls ripped off" is quite a superficial thought; not one worth noting. By thought-provoking, I mean something that you have to deeply consider, particularly so if it brings dubiety towards your own beliefs.

3.Yes, the kids' teasing was implausible. That's the point!

  • I am going to reply in two parts, especially since we are all here at about the same time:

Man, you are not my teacher. I know what thought-provoking is, and I say that Elfen Lied was thought-provoking. You disagree? Fine. As for the "balls ripped off" part of my comment, why focus on that? I clearly said that this anime made me think about the horrors of child sexual abuse. That theme is always, always thought-provoking, as much as or even more so than Gantz tying to themes of war.

  • Part 2.

The only thing implausible about the teasing of little Lucy was the teasing of her ears, since Lucy's kind does not exist in our world. But I would not put it past reality that there are little psychos out there like that little boy (some serial killers start out slaughtering animals). The point is the teasing made me think of the very real thought-provoking matter of teasing and violence in schools.

Elfen Lied did not invoke deep thoughts in you? Fine. But it did for others.

  • Watch Elfen Lied, bloody and it has good story

  • Is it me or is this the bloodies show ever people head just blowing up

  • Watch Code Gease.

  • erm Code Gease is not bloody ... Devilman is the bloodiest anime ever (evangelion isnt bad either)
