Why did the woman not get out? Did anyone know she wastill in the vehicle?  I bet they WOULD have helped if they knew.

Are these vehicles more vulnerable to fuel tank rupture?

It's likely that the vehicle exploded at the moment that it was rammed by a carjacker, so there's nothing anyone could do.

As a First Responder we are taught to assess for dangers before running in to help people, in this situation there is no point trying to rescue this person and becoming a casualty yourself thus making more work for the rest of the emergency crews that arrive after you.

@policest1100 Agree with you, but the fact that nobody even seems to pay any attention to this burning vehicule is a disturbing evolution in our (Belgian) society (need to get on with our tight schedule, so will not even take the time to check if I can help in any way. Let someone else do it...). As a society we are not doing well. Some may think 'civilization' is progressing: in my eyes it's the opposite... :-(

@SiskaLeen the accident itself was very bad ! you have to know that the car exploded ! the women inside just couldn't be helped ! it all happend so fast ! My grandfather saw it and really nobody could do anything about it !!! like other people try to tell , sadly nothing could be done !!!!

@Lolavsluigi Not saying she could have been saved... Sorry for your grandfather having to see that. Nothing worse than standing there and not being able to do anything. But just pointing out the general evolution: lots of people not even trying to help someone when they pass by an accident. In many cases you can help and make a difference. People often just don't bother anymore and that's sad.

There is a law here in France "Not assisting a person in danger" is a crime here. Perhaps not always upheld but still a law.

@kamajiboy where you at the crash scene? It's easy to say this safe behind your coputer but in real life things are different. I regret the loss of a persons life but when it is not safe you should not encounter such a crash scene.

The crash happened and the car caught on fire immediatly.

I did happen in belgium !! It's near my hometown , very sad accident!!! My granfather did see it happening , he still don't understand what happend , a car smashed into a still standing car at a red light but , he turned to the left at high speed into that other car and it cathed fire !! It was a very horrible accident .
