Great running pontiac! I bet its that posi and gears that make those tires spin though. Pontiacs with 350 2bbl usually never came with a posi. I HAD a 350 2bbl in my lemans but now it has a 455. I still have the wack ass gearing(2.73) and no posi but it still moves. check out my vids.
I have a '72 LeMans but mine has a 460 big block. Comp cam and the heads have been gasket matched. It makes just shy of 500 ponys and just over 520 ft. lbs of torque

Pontiac had the best motors until the BBC came out. The only thing that could keep up was the hemis and the BB mopars. They had the afetrmarket like Chevy did while BOP didn't have much. Stock vs stock is a different story. I will never build anything with a Chevy motor though.
well lets not forget the 525 hores 303 pontiac this is a fact small block wont run with big block unless there built go to the strip threres all the proof ive took .30 flat top 455 hdlic flat tappet cam intake carb headers thats it. 130 pounds of compresion and my brother nlaw has 73nova with .60 over 350 125 dome pistons dubel hump heads degreed solid lift cam eagel crank,rod 202,160 vavels roller rockers weaiend intake 750 dubel pumper 4000 stall shift kit 3.73 gear half a fender thats it
Pontiac had always built better motors than chevrolet up until 79 where chevy forced GM (or something like that) to put chevy motors into Pontiacs. It was cause of jealousy since the chevy motor could not live up to the pontiac but no true chevy fan is going to admit to that. Too bad the poncho 350 is looked down compared to the 389-455 but it really is a good motor w/a shitload of torque. I like the sound of your car, do you have performance exhaust or is that stock too? lol
if pontiac v8's where better than chevy...why the chevy is the most popular? if pontiac where so good than gm would eleminate the chevy and not the pontiac! hey you cannot even put a real big lift cam on a 455 cuz the lifter cames out of the bore!! you what is BANG FOR THE BUCK? it means chevy! cuz the sbc chevy is way more reliable,more compact and much simple than the pontiac v8's. why all the aftermarkets choosed chevy ? why not pontiac?
why did edelbrock based his businnes on the small block chevy back in the 50's 60's?? cuz the chevy is way more popular and let's face it the sbc got more potential than every other V8 engines out there. by the way I LOVE PONTIACS!! my brother has a 1973 firebird formula with a 455 pontiac. and the car is waay too fast. i owned some pontiacs with real poncho motors and i loved them. but chevy imo is still better!
Not saying the chevy motor is bad, hell i've worked on both and I have to say chevy is a hell of a lot easier to work with since the setup on some pontiacs are weird but performance wise, ive gotten better times in a poncho 350 than a chevy 350, both being stock except a 4bbl conversion on the pontiac
yeah maybe the 350 pontiac is more powerful than a low compressaon 2 bbl chevy 350! but in the glory days(1957-1972) the sbc was the most powerful small block...few examples: fuelie 283/283hp, L79 327/350hp, 327/375hp, LT1 350/360hp, oh and those legendary 302 chevy's with over 350hp.
@peter355camaro a guy where i grew up owned an L88 Vette w/ headers edelbrock intake and edelbrock carb and my brothers 67 catalina with a step down 400/2barrel (260hp) straight up walked away from his car, it was embarrassing for the vette to say the least.
i can do a better burnout with a v6 frt whl drv...
