Mine avg fps on al highest 16xmsaa or something 8x anistropic. 1024x768, average fps is: some thing in the 63.50 or more

Well, i baught a new laptop (compaq cq61)

specs are:

3GB DDR2

ATI RADEON MOBILITY HD 4200

AMD athlon II 2ghz (slow i know but its great)

Windows 7 64 BIT

Now for the fps test:

All HIGH 70.68 FPS (4aa 4af no sync)

all LOW 212.47 FPS

all i can say... for $249.99 this fucking kicks my old pc's ass!

Its your celly thats killing you! The source engine is very CPU intensive, anything above a 3650 can max out the graphics.

i currently have nvidia 6150 se integrated and i get alright fps on lowest everything. about 30-50.

if i did same fo dis card would it reach higher? :/ its like the only card my computer can handle and im worried if im just gonna fork out money for pretty much the same fps.

Interesting. I wonder why you get such low frame rates. My laptop (which is only 1.80 Ghz, single core and integrated graphics) will run C-S: S at 640x480 with all the settings on low about 30-40 fps. Yours should be running C-S: S fine considering yours is at 2.80, you have decent RAM and you have an 8400 GS. Maybe you oughta update your drivers. NVIDIA released one for the 8400 about a month ago. BTW, what resolution do you have C-S:S on?

Emons9 a 4890 is alot faster than a GTS250!

A gts250 is a 9800+ GTX renamed, the EXACT same specs and core, you got jipped.

This is why Nvidia keep getting business, they rename their cards and uninformed consumers thinks its some new and amazing architecture!

ATI has been murdering them in price vs performance since the 4000 series and right now the 5000 series is the fastest GPU out and GT300 wont be ready until very lat Q1 2010.

@emons9 gts 250 is mid end vga, 4890 high end and more powerful than gts 250 thats why you don't get that fps.

i have an AMD Sempron 1.6 ghz single core, Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 LE and 512 mb of (shitty) ram, i run about 120 fps average on all low settings and about 25 average on all high. =)

hey, what was your fps with lowest settings and without fraps? I have an intel celeron northwood 2.8ghz and I want to upgrade to 1gb ram and geforce 6200. Do you think I will get at least 40fps minimum at lowest settings? plz reply asap

I don't know what's my fps @ lowest settings, cuz i don't have installed css atm. But i think you will be able to play it at lowest settings @40fps. Not sure. :P

you have a 2.5ghz cpu, 1gb ram and 7600 gt graphics card. The 7600gt is more than enough for css so why do you get 17fps? I get 40fps on stress test with core duo 1.86ghz 1gb ram and GMA 950 INTEGRATED graphics card all at lowest settings
