I've seen this musical two times and I am itching to see it again and again. The opening number, with all the animals when they come down the isle. I teared up. It's so amazing.
the real lion king movie had everything but african ppl in it lol im just saying i kno this movie was about the talking animals but why base a movie in africa and not show at least 2 african ppl walking by or something lol
Just saw this musical in Vegas the other day. It was absolutely breathtaking. I've never been a fan of musicals, but this is one exception and I would definitely take every chance I get to see it again. The experience of seeing it on stage for yourself is indescribable, you'd have to go and see for yourself!
Does anyone know what the song after "The Circle of Life" is exactly? I love that part in all the commercials but no one can tell me what the song is. it starts at 1:12 on the video.
There are only two broadway shows that have blown me away. Wicked, and The Lion King. This however is just so amazing. :) I'm a BIG fan of the elephants
I HAVE to watch it before it closes on West End (If it does close) What kinda bugs me is that I did have a chance but the teacher cancelled it cause there wasn't enough people :( And I paid and everything D:
@Mooofypoo My mother and I have tickets to see The Lion King on tour in 3 weeks and one day it's our second time and we're both excited and happy to see our favorite chracters from the classic animated Disney cartoon come to life on the stage again this time I'll remember the action, adventure, romance, betrayal, and the magnificent storyline that The Lion King is all about! LONG LIVE THE KING!
@Mooofypoo I plan to enjoy it for my second time and it'll be a memory for me to remember for years to come hopefully,I won't cry as hard at Mufasa's ghost this time like I did the first time!
@Mooofypoo I know I am but I really wanna go see The Lion King on Broadway in New York, maybe I'll make The Lion King in New York my 3rd time...it could happen that possibly this Christmas,I could ask Santa for tickets to The Lion King in New York this year!
@Mooofypoo Yes I have seen Wicked twice on tour the first time was with my mother and the second time I took one of my friends to see it I really wanna see Wicked again but this time I wanna see it on Broadway!
I loved this play! The people are so talented. I went to see it with my choir class with my mom in Indiapolis. It was so cool. We also got to ask the cast questions.

@PurpleVolvagia The main lions (with the exception of Scar) are black. The ensemble in terms of race is much looser I believe. Some characters are colorblind casted, others are not. It's an amazing show.
I love this musical because it shows the true beauty of African culture!!! Everything in the musical is African, the clothing, the songs, the feel, everything!
lol this is indeed worth the money to go and see. Saw it on Broadway, bought the CD, even bought a hat :P Although... I thought the monkey was a dude in the movie :P
It was the most beautiful musical I have seen so far. Absolutely impressive, and I wish I could see it again. And I loved the music O_O We bought the cd right after, hahahaha.

I cannot stress how much you need to see it on Broadway its worth the steep ticket price. I saw the traveling version a year after when it came to Maryland, and it just was NOT anywhere as good.
The performers are not as consistent, all of the isle and balcony stuff was missing. It just didn't feel like they went 'all out' as they did on Broadway. Of course thats why the tickets are $150 more than the traveling version (which were also pricey at $75). SEE IT. Its life changing.
