He's not using a pedal, he's using a Fender reverb tank. You can get a reverb pedal but it wont sound NEARLY as good as this. The tank gives more of a "surfy" tone, while pedals give you more of a... I don't know... not.

i find a fair bit less dwell and using a Stratocaster with both the middle and neck pickups on works best for the surf tone. also don't palm-mute let the notes ring.

but good tone with the Gretsch Whte Falcon.

Agreed until your second sentence.....no offense.......but you don't get drip without palm muting. it's an essential part of playing surf. the reason you see guitarists spending 100's of dollars on reverb tanks is for that reason alone.

Well, I think amps have either a reverb tank or a digital reverb built in. Digital reverb would be same as a pedal, I'd say.

depends on the amp. a reverb tank has a spring reverb or an analog reverb. A pedal is digital. your amp could has either. my marshall has a spring reverb but my vox has a digital reverb.

Obviously 'surf' guitar makes heavy use of the tremelo bar. Do you have any suggestions (outside of locking tuners) on ways to can keep your guitar in tune while playing with heavy tremelo? I've heard of using Silicon or graphite on the nut to keep strings from pinching, etc... Does that actually work?

yes the graphite and silicon do work. but try changing out the tuners on the guitar if that doesnt work. try locking tuners

It's most probably your bridge as it's almost impossible for the tuners to slip if your strings are wrapped correctly (simple physics). A graphite nut is a simple, easy upgrade that's well worth it, but a cheap bridge will do you in.
