Why do people have to go on about hating each others nations. Why can't we all have some national pride, and in this case, enjoy one of the greatest and most beautiful national anthems in the world.

When I was going over to Wales (one of my most favourite parts of the UK) for a little 4 day break, my English co-workers warned me not to go, because they hated the place and hated the people, and thought I was nuts wanting to go there. Like I said we contribute some 60billion to the Uk treasury yet the assembly only receives 15 billion annually, this pays for education, health social services and other things, now if everything was devolved obvs the expenditure would be greater but by 45 billion? Wales is a beautiful place and from the visits I have had a friendly place to go also.
It’s great to remember your history from whatever your country, as it helps to prevent the same issues ever happening again. If we did not have theses bleak moments in history we would have nothing to learn from them. That’s not to say they should be used as a catalyst to promote hate, the information known should be used as a deterrent.
What a very nice song for a national anthem.

I am Welsh. I do not hate the English. C'mon forget the past. This is NOW. WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE, THE OLDEST IN EUROPE, and it is growing in spite of the past. We have the Eisteddfodau where we celebrate our iove of poetry and music. Those from other places always praise our acceptance of them. We do not people from other places.

@WillOrng Yes, They might.They don't appear in history too much.There were early Celts in hungary in 1500 BC (The Urn people) and Gallic tribes (also Celts) burned Rome in 900BC. The Celts stretched from Scotland to Poland (Galicia)
and from the Iberian Peninsular (Galicia in Portugal ) to Turkey. Welsh is Celtic language related to the language spojken by Gauls when Caesar occupied what is now France. I should have said ONE OF THE OLDEST KNOWN LANGUAGES.I appreciate the correction. Aled

When I was going over to Wales (one of my most favourite parts of the UK) for a little 4 day break, my English co-workers warned me not to go, because they hated the place and hated the people, and thought I was nuts wanting to go there. But as I have always found, Wales is a magnificent country and the people are wonderful. Such a pity that the UK is so full of hated and bias. (Maybe coming from New South Wales makes me like Wales so much!)

I went to south Wales again in July and people were speaking Welsh around me all the time. What's the problem, I ask. Its their country, their (very musical) language, let them go for it.
