@applefreak66 There is a tab that says Chapters....you click on the little ticky box that say something like Chapter Markers. click on it so it becomes unmarked......this should fix the problem! hope it helps
thanks this really helped! the whole time i've been putting dvds it wouldn't work but what i found out, watching this video is that by the side bar there is a selection, i clicked on ipod and now it works! it was because i wasn't selecting the type so it would say it does not support the file type but now it works well, thanks so much! really helpful. :)
help me please ive done everything u said but when i go to sync it with my ipod it says the movie wasn't synced to your ipod because your ipod does not support this fule type! i need help!!!
iv tred this about 5 times with 5 different dvds.i have a windows vista and evry time its done reading the dvd it says "no title found..." do you know why this is happinging , and do netflix dvds have copy protection?
I tried using this with Vista, and the video came out all pixelated... can you help me out at all? I did what you did, and made it have fast Deinterlacing. It did iPod Hi-Rez, and didn't mess with anything else. The menu's a lot different looking from the Mac one, too.
i must admit, i've never even seen handbrake on windows. i don't have vista, but i do have an old machine that has XP. i'll try to make some time to set it up and test it out. i would suggest downloading the latest version of quicktime, it might have newer codecs and compressors. that might help.
Thanks, but I figured it out. I asked for help on the Handbrake forum, and I didn't use a decryptor for the DVD, which was the problem, since commercial DVD's often have copy protection on them and won't work right with Handbrake unless decrypted.
that's really interesting, i've never had a problem with commercial dvds not encoding. there is a program (for OS X) called mac the ripper, which removes the encryption and saves the dvd files on your hard drive.
Bro do i need to have a dvd burner cuz mine comp has a dvd drive but doesnt burn dvds, i keep getting ERROR no titles found. Make sure you have insterted a noncopywrited dvd
it sounds like something is wrong with the disc. you do not need a dvd burner, however, if you have a really old dvd drive, the laser might not have the resolution needed to read the dvd. (it's not a blu-ray dvd is it?) if the disc is scratched, you may also have problems. and every now and again you run into one that it just won't read. what movie is it?
hmm, i'm not sure what to tell you. you have enough hard drive space right? i would also be sure that handbrake is reading from the proper drive. On the Mac, it's File-> Open Source-> and then choose the dvd. that way you can "force" it to read from the dvd. has handbrake been reading the disc?
knowing that your hand me down mac is a single 433 G4, and knowing that it takes an hour for my Quad 2.5ghz G5 to encode the same dvd, it makes sense that it would take you about 20 hours, as my machine has roughly 20x the processing power. IT WILL HELP IF YOU TURN OFF ALL THE OTHER PROGRAMS. then nearly 100% of the processor can be devoted to handbrake.
i've got a quad-core G5 with a superdrive (wicked fast), and it takes about 30-45 minutes for it to rip a two hour dvd. an entire movie is a lot for any computer to process. so just be patient, let it do it's thing and come back later.
I'll try it

Hey Levi,
Thanks for the tips... I realise this is an old vid but most of the info is still relevant.
Do you recommend newer options to HandBrake for doing the same job?
Thanks again,
Very helpful!

i still use handbrake frequently, however i would recommend downloading the latest version from handbrake.fr

has enybody ever got a virus from handbrake?
askthewione 2 years ago
@askthewione There are very few viruses for Mac. If you have Windows, you should have an anti virus software.
But i don't think you'll get one, cuz it's a popular app.

have you tried with a different dvd?
you could also try extracting the dvd with "mac the ripper" and then try handbrake on the VIDEO_TS folder.
