  • The British Invasion and that thing called Merseybeat, .

  • I never had a problem with Chad and Peter and Jeremy and Gordon. Those were the days.......

  • glad chad and jeremy are touring again! happy birthday chad. not peter...

  • this is chad and jeremy come on lets get it together man

  • I'm not sure you got the results you think you did. I didn't view this just because I thought it was Peter and Gordon. I really thought maybe Peter and Gordon had done a cover of the Chad and Jeremy song.

  • Written by Del Shannon

  • This is rather confusing to have photos of Peter and Gordon with a Chad and Jeremey song.

  • Regardless of which duet the photos are of, the song by Chad and Jeremy is awesome. A friend and I did the song "My Coloring Book" as done by Chad and Jeremy in a school talent contest and won the competition. Their music and lyrics were simple yet brilliant at the same time. Myself and a couple of other partners are doing our part to help keep the classics alive. You can hear our selections by searching Vintage Entertainment LIVE on here.

  • They were much better than Peter and Gordon (and pre-dated them).

  • i not sure it's true, but one time i read somewhere that on their debut lp,the cover has a picture of peter and gordon on it.but my copy has chad and jeremy on it.could it be on the first pressings of chad and jeremy's 'yesterday's gone' debut lp has the error photo? if anyone knows, let me know.also great debut hit(#21pop,1964).

  • they stumbled on what we now call "son of a bitch" I can do that!

  • Getting rid of the cigarette was not cool....it ruined the video. Tell it like it is, or ST"FU.

  • whatever, it's great that thanks to the internet great music like this can be kept alive foever

  • I think chad &jer were both on an old episode of "the man from uncle"you might find pics from that.

  • I think the first time I heard this song was in the summer of 1966. Top Notch Duo.

  • man this was way ahead of it's time. so brave of them to express their love for each other during such conservative times.

  • oh shit I thought Austin powers wasn't a real person????

  • Why photos of Peter and Gordon when it's CHAD and JEREMY performing ?????

  • You gotta admit they were pretty much interchangeable.

  • Found the "whole" Chad & Jeremy collection of albums at Goodwill today.going to burn to cd & put them away

  • dude looks like Austin Powers

  • For the 9 who do not like, the only reason not to like it is that it is not your genre. It is a great song from a time where all bands where expected to be squeeke clean. Mcartney was smoki

  • 9 LOSERS...I really wish you R.A.P. shit lovers would just go away for ever. You simple don't know anything about great music, let alone great songs. GOD. I HATE R.A.P. SHIT. It's not even music. CRAP

  • LIke Chad and Jeremy, I think the British Folk Duet, Peter and Gordon, were the foundation of Heavy Metal...Dan O'Niallain

  • I seem to recall they were on an episode of the Dick VanDyke Show, anyone ese remember that ?

  • Just shows, Michael Buble Doesnt have to look far to find loads of great songs to sing.Just look through suggestions on Youtube

  • Chad & Jeremy; Peter and Gordon...I'ts all good!!

  • Love to have seen a Celebrity Death Match between Chad and Jeremy and Peter and Gordon.

  • @2313Productions that would be well funny as they are one and the same LOL! x

  • ~~~Answering the comment below~~~ Jane Asher dated Paul McCartney for five years and Paul gave P&G about 3 or 4 hits I believe.

  • Peter Asher is Jane Ashers' brother and she dated one of the Beatles for awhile ( I think George) and was an actress in her own right. Just a FYI for anyone interested in 60s trivia frm an old hippie.

  • "We had such happiness together.......I can't believe it's gone foreeeeeever....." Probably the best part of the song, love it all 1000% though! Sometimes I get an itch for some classic oldies, I had just listened to Peter, Paul and Mary's "Dig Rock n' Roll Music" just before. I was listening to the Beatles the other night, I had forgotten all about "I'm A Loser".

  • I thought you had replaced one of them with pictures of Austin Powers!!! LOL

  • This is "Peter and Gordon", ofcourse, but is credited to "Chad and Jeremy" as a joke...Dan O'Niallain

  • @oldiesbutgoodies67 not as a joke but its worked as a great view tecnique this video has had more views because of it

  • @mrdee11091

    bad viewing technique. Thumbs down.

  • I love this song!

  • Obiously, some kid posted this because these pictures are of PETER and GORDON.

  • @19Truth53 theres a child in all of us thanks for the comment anyway.

  • nine

  • loved them!!

  • What aminute ...lthis is Peter and gordon, but the billing sid Chad and Jeremy.. Oh well maybe all Brits look alike. lol

  • I never realised how much Chad and Jeremy resemble Peter and Gordon in appearance. It's quite remarkable.

  • Terrific song which brings memories from the 'baby boomer' generation of the 60's & 70s' ~ Thanks for posting for a trip down memory lane~!

  • I hoped it wasn't just me that noticed that the title says "Chad and Jeremy" above a picture of Peter and Gordon. Good grief.

  • duh!...while the song is Chad and Jeremy...the pics are not...they are Peter and Gordon...lollol

  • Damn...I will never forget her...until the day I die...and maybe not even then.

  • the pictures above are Peter and Gordon, not Chad and Jeremy

  • 8 assholes

  • witch ones chad because my name is chad? probolay the orange headed one lol

  • @bootymeatz123 not sure which is which lol

  • @mrdee11091 it's no either, it's Peter and Gordon. But Chad was the one who wore glasses, in Chad and Jeremy.

  • witch ones chad because my name is chad? probolay the orange headed one lol.

  • I liked both Peter&Gordon and Chad &Jeremy very much !!!!They were Fab !!! Still are!

  • Chad and Jeremy were the poor man's Peter and gordon.

  • @ShockDoc they were better than Peter and Gordon.....

  • pos quein sabe it is funny that all the pictures are of peter and gordon hilarious

  • your pictures are all of peter and gordon NOT chad and jeremy who I like better!

  • its great to see that all of these acts form the 60's are getting the huge amount of views that they are. it is just proof positive of how great, universal and classic this era was.

i end up watching 2 or 3 hours of related clips whenever i take a foray into this era. my entire childhood and teen years are represented here and it is comforting.

  • @mtnthai It's addictive isn't it ? As soon as I open one clip I have to go to another.....I love all eras of rock music but it doesn't get any better than the 60's for the most joyous and fun records of all time, does it ? Happy New Year !

  • This is "Peter and Gordon" not "Chad and Jeremy" which I'm sure you all recognized with the few brain cell you have left from the 60's...Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • Chad and Jeromy are great. Why are you showing the other duo's pics? . ..

  • @skydogz1 That is explained in the quote boxes in the actual video.

  • that is Chad and Jeremy singing, yoyo!

  • Is this song actually Peter and Gordon like the video? Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • I grew up in the 90's and have been listening to this song and "A Summer Song" ever since I can remember - the benefit of having parents culture their kids in the field of music. Chad & Jeremy is the best!

  • Hey the pictures are of Peter and Gordon not Chad and Jeremy but they are both great and they were often confused with each other, but hey the song was Chad and Jeremy. By the way Chad and Jeremy had a few TV acting roles as themselves on both The Dick Van Dyke show and the campy Batman. I never missed anything they did or anything they sung.

  • As someone else has pointed out here, why on earth are we looking at pictures of bleeping Peter and bleeping Gordon??!! They weren't that hard to tell apart, fer gosh sakes! Oh, yeah, and to "at7000:" it no doubt will be shocking to members of your generation that recorded history did not -- repeat -- did NOT -- begin in 1985.

  • 1964 hit You never hear meaning words like that ANYMORE.

  • Comment removed

  • please, anybody out there, who are experts one 60s music, is it possible that Chad and Jeremy, are also Peter and Gordon.

  • this music is sooo good but please do jeremy and chad a favor find a pic of them LOL!!

  • They sound better because they have talent and a good producer. And today most have neither.

  • Beautiful song, YES, the 60,s were so good!

  • I'm kind of surprised that this was bigger than A Summer Song.

  • Haha you realize that you're showing images of Peter and Gordon, right?

  • its actually STUART CHADWICK ?????they featured in the original batman series in usa ,,,,,KER POWWWWWWWWWWWW BLATTTTTTTTTTTT SOCKKKKKKKKKKKK,,,,,,,,,,,,,,...............AMEN,,,,,,,,

  • Isn't this song by "Peter and Gordon"? One of which thinks his image was hi-jacked in the Blockbuster "Austin Powers" in the late 90's. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • @oniallain1965 Nope. Chad wrote this song when he was all of 16 years of age. C and J and P and G are similar and easily mixed up. But they are very different people. I had the pleasure of hearing Chad and Jeremy in person just a month ago and they were charming and very good.

  • Every time I hear this song it makes feel like I'm 9 yrs old again and I guess it always will. Nice memories too.

  • My first favorite group...Love those harmonies...touching lyrics...Very strong for a 5 year old!! (when I first loved them)

  • These two '..obscure nobodies..' were not 'obscure' , nor were they 'nobodies'. In the mid-sixty's, they were well known and very popular. Perhaps not as well known as the 'Beatles', but, still known and like by a large slice. Good musical scores and great harmonies were almost like a trademark. And yes, they still sound better than 90% of what is produced today.

  • @laugh1ing More like a 100%.

  • @laugh1ing That's right. They received extensive airplay and charted steadily during the British Invasion No mean feat.. And yes, they do sound better than 90% of the crap produced today.

  • @laugh1ing

I met these guys backstage at Highland Park HS in IL in 1966. Great guys but still wondering why this video is full of Peter and Gordon photos!

  • @laugh1ing I liked them better than "The Beatles!"

  • @laugh1ing Damn straight!!! Most of what's coming out today is CRAP.

  • This tune was released a bit before my time, but have heard it numerous times, so I don't think you can call them obscure nobodies. What surprises me is, correct me if I'm wrong, nobody's had a hit cover of this one.

  • These are pictures of Peter and Gordon NOT CHAD & JEREMY! Why would you show them and not the singers of the song? Just curious.

  • the pix are of Peter and Gordon!

  • i've heard of it. i was a little girl then. it still pops into my head at random times.

  • I think this is so funny, that you used Peter and Gordon to represent Chad and Jeremy. :-) Both pairs werre hugely succesful in America while other British acts like Cliff Richard And The Shadows, Joe Brown, Marty Wilde and Billy Fury couldn't get arrested there.

  • thanks for the link

  • @at7000 ... because they ARE better! These guys, and others like them, knew how to use their voices and add beautiful harmony to a simple beat from a drum and guitar. They were awesome ... as was the music of that time. Enjoy!

  • My mom wrtote this song back in the 60's........ It really ashame it was taken from her...........

  • @Mist1bear Was your Mum a musician?

  • @Mist1bear - There were 2 writers credited with this song - and it wasn't Chad or Jeremy!!!

  • To starkiller4679, this was always one of my favorite songs from the 60's.......a beautiful song that I will never forget........

  • Great song.

In the 70s, the Osborne Brothers did a phenomenal Bluegrass treatment of this song on Decca.

  • This song is on my :Manny The memories" CD. By the way at7000, The music today don:t care about Quality or the art of music, they care about its good enough to make Money.

  • They still sound the same after all these years! Wow! I had a chance to go to their concert and it amazed me!

  • These guys were big. You take the Everlybrothers ,Peter and Gordon,Hermans Hermits ,Jan and Dean. They all sound better than most . If you want a funny laugh type in Saftey dance literal version and watch that hit from the 80's funny remake.

  • Why play Chad & Jeremy and show Peter & Gordon ???

  • @DONGOE he explains it. He could not find any photos of Chad and Jeremy and so he posted Peter and Gordon with whom Cand J are often confused. Thus solving one problem with humor.

  • Another song I like to record on my "MannyThe Memories' CD.

  • this one can still be heard old many oldie stations

  • You're right at7000, music is not as genuine as used to be and I'm not from that generation- I was born in the 80s!

  • Nothing against P&G, BUT they are NOT

Chad and Jeremy by a long shot. Please,

    dont try to BS people!

  • Peter Asher was the brother of long-time Paul McCartney girlfriend, Jane Asher.

  • I've had this song (or parts of it) on my mind for the past two days and couldn't remember who sang it. Thanks!

  • Help me understand why I should see photos of Peter and Gordon here. Baseballcatholic is quite correct to raise this question.

  • Despite being mistaken at times for Peter & Gordon,Chad & Jeremy had a distinctive style all their own, making this their best-known & successful song.Great tune! Thanks!

  • Are Chad & Jeremy still singing? Someone told me they will be on tour May of 2010 @space in evanston IL?

  • yeah...the ol homies are still playing they guitars ....much respect

  • You say you couldn't find pictures of Chad and Jeremy? Just Google their names, you'll find plenty. It makes no sense to put up a bunch of pictures of Peter and Gordon with this song of Chad and Jeremy.

  • I know it's a bit late to try and stir up a campaign of rivalry of Chad and Jeremy vs. Peter and gordon, BUT...I say Chad and Jeremy all the way!

  • I met Jeremy Clyde years ago in a coffee shop near the old Hullabaloo nightclub in Hollywood...very nice man, and he was cute! Peter Asher represents James Taylor, and sent me an autographed picture of him (JT) when a friend wanted it.

  • OH BEHAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like Austin Powers!!!

  • That's Peter Asher, who was made a star by his sister's boyfriend....some guy named Paul McCartney.

  • You really do learn something new everyday! I love Paul!

  • looks like some one has a jealousy issue...on here.. sorry for the friend invite..I do not in any way want to such your dick, like your girl accused me of..

too bad for you to have to be in a realationship like that...sorry for you.

  • I saw C&J in person -- they were a great talent! If you want pix, go to Google Images -- you'll find tons! :-) Another bit of trivia -- C&J appeared in an episode of Dick Van Dyke Show in the 60's. Played themselves. They were hiding out from the fans at Rob & Laura's home while visiting the show. It was a cute episode. :-)

  • @ChrisCurtisFan

They also appeared in an episode of Batman (the TV show) - also as themselves. Catwoman stole their voices.

  • totally hip man. these dudes are straight edge with their singing.

  • One thing is sure; Yesterday's gone - I believe they were part of the British invasion.

  • Summer of '64.. yes, music was definitely better in the swingin' 60s...!!

  • AUSTIN POWERS GROOVEY BABY!!!!!!

  • Cause that was yesterday, and yesterday was better!

  • Why do these two obscure nobodies, sound better than 90% of the music being produced today?

  • @at7000 There are many groups from the 60's that are obscure if you weren't alive then. These were far from obscure then and I agree they are better than the current crop. Put that down to the youngsters being absorbed with electronic gizmos rather than being totally absorbed with music which was pretty much the only outlet for kids. In the 60's you were either making music or listening to it

  • @at7000 I saw them last night and they were really entertaining. In the mid 1960s they were far from obscure as they had 7 top ten hits in a row and made very successful appearences on top tv shows like the Patty Duke Show, Dick Van Dyke (as the Red Coats) and Batman. Chad wrote this song when he was all of 18 years old. Like everything else this style of music faded and they were supplanted by newer acts.

  • @at7000 Well actually they weren't nobodies. We all liked them in the 60s, even though they weern't as big as some of the bands. The music was better then because the times were different-- many people were still idealistic and little innocent, and the musical tradition valued beauty and often a bit of humility (which has been totally lost).

  • @at7000 obscure nobodies??? find "No Tears for Johnnie." they were recording artists.

  • @at7000

    More like 99%

  • @at7000 First off, to those of us who grew up in the 50's and 60's, Chad & Jeremy are far from "obscure nobodies." That said, to answer your question: talent. They had talent and great songs to sing.

  • @at7000

Because they ARE better than 99% of the music being produced today.

  • @at7000 Good Question! Everything now evolves around money and the producers that will take anyone that can breath and try to make a buck from them.

    Sir David

  • @at7000 AGREE!!!!!!

  • @at7000 If you were coming of age in the sixties, they wouldn't be at all obscure.

  • @at7000

Back then, the music itself was the star, unlike nowadays when it's all about the artist saying "Look at me, me, me. I'm a star." It's such a turnoff, especially when they're devoid of talent as most of them are.

  • @at7000 because it was before rap was invented

  • @at7000 Exactly! Produced Today that is the trouble. They were big in Britain.

    The British Beat

  • @at7000 because once upon a time there was true effort to put quality into music. your audience demanded it. now days the record buying community will accept anything.

  • @at7000 Easy. But first, they weren't THAT obscure.. Back then - music.. and life - it was for living & enjoying. Today..? It is a controlled existence, designed to maximize profits, while discouraging leisure time... and promoting a 'work culture'. The lines between your job and home/leisure/fun - very indistinct. Thralldom. Enjoy your.. existence....

  • This doesn't sound anything like Words of Love! You must be the guy who put the P & G photo on the back of the C & J Greatest Hits lp.

  • Wow! nice song , What year did it come out?

  • so all of your pics are peter and gordon? there is none of chad and jeremy who actually did this song?

  • chad and jeremy

  • but yesterdays gone.

  • I thought this was peter and Gordan in the pics too? Chad and Jeromy are great also.

  • We had such happiness together..... but wait.....

  • If Peter and Gordon didn't quit show biz and opened up an antiques shop together, then they missed their true calling.

  • love this song but are you sure this is peter and gordon or chad and jeremy.? love all the songs they did!

  • The song is a Chad and Jeremy number; the visuals are Peter and Gordon. So what? They were both great duos...

  • It doesn't SOUND like the voices of Peter and Gordon.

  • Cool And Peter & Gordon Well They Were Cool Too!

  • No wonder they mistake them for Peter and Gordon, you posted a picture of Peter and Gordon for the song.

  • This song brings back wonderful memories of the 60s. By the way, this is Chad Stuart & Jeremy Clyde, and they are still singing together.

  • @lbfield They were one of teh best groups around. I have all their vinyl albums, but have transferred them to CDs. I love their voices and their music.

  • Gotta agree with you Nuerth. I grew up in the midst of all these "artists". I knew from the start (because of my great appeal for the Beatles) that Peter and Gordon were "probably" going to be a flash in the pan. Chad and Jeremy on the other hand I felt had more natural talent and great passion for their music. Easily compared now... Look at and listen to P & G and then C & J live today. You'll see a big diferrence in delivery, etc. IMHO

  • i definitely agree that though peter and gordan were good chad and Jeremy though ive never seen them live studio wise they had there craft down to the tune very excellent in making music

  • Unfortunately as with any inside track it can

ultimately become as much a hindrance as a

bonus, but from the stand point of the music

    industry.back then anything even remotely

connected to the Beatles got carte blanche,

but as with any shadow that powerful Peter &

Gordon were completely packaged as a synthetic version of the Beatles

  • Chad and Jeremy, look more and more like Peter and Gordon.

  • It's also difficult for me to tell which is which but I love both duos and their music.

  • I used to think that Chad & Jeremy were americans.Oops!I stand corrected.

  • i wanna find video of them from the cabige and kings area. i like this but that is a intreging area for them

  • Peter & Gordon had an unfair advantage since Peter's sister Jane Asher was dating Paul McCartney which gave them access to Lennon/McCartney tunes

    written specifically for them

  • Nuerth, you make a good point. Good comment. However, there was a counter-point that I remember the media making back in the day. Their take was that since Peter was Jane Asher's brother, and Jane Asher was romantically involved with Paul McCartney, and millions of girls had crushes on Paul, it hurt Peter & Gordon by being associated with Paul's girlfriend Jane. Girls were jealous. I don't know if that story makes sense, but I remember it being spoken and written about back in the '60's.

  • A great duo from the 60s. They never has the publicity and airplay of others at the time (Beatles, the Stones, Manfred Mann, etc) and they did deserve better. They had a nice smooth sound compared to other groups of the day and yes I was around then, my teen years were the 60s.

  • Yes I am a teen from the sixties too do you remember Chad and Jeremy being on the Dick Van Dyke.

  • I was never a fan of the Dick Van Dyke Show, so no, I never saw that episode. I saw them mainly on the Saturday pop shows or heard them on the radio.

  • I have that clip on my list of favorites.

  • Oh i didn't realize it was on the Youtube. I will had to look it up thanks for telling me.

  • Love Peter Asher's red hair.

  • Thats the real Austin Powers!
