  • that's a different level of thick isn't it ' lol!

  • Yet just more BBC anti American bias. How do they keep their licence to broadcast?

  • @oldbloke01 They joke about us, we joke about them.

    It's nothing serious.

The UK & USA relationship is one of the strongest relationships in the world today, it's not like we're suddenly going to have a war because the BBC broadcasted people joking about the US.

    Don't be so narrowminded.

  • ''thats a different level of thick innit.''

  • He could of meant what state is it in as in a bad state but I doubt it, lol ;-)

  • @LegalVampire that would be a really wierd thing to ask though lol

  • there are many towns in the USA named wales...so now u know

  • @branstan100 There are freakin' 8 of them! But he should have known she was British by the accent.

  • state, there is not just one meaning,

  • `aww, luff ` <3

  • A different level of thick...Brilliant!

  • @SCORESBY099 cn you expalin? did he mock the girl or bush?

  • @anakluhur Bush.

  • That was very American of you asshole...No wonder you had Bush as ur president...TWICE...make that thrice actually....I pity you, moron...

  • Hahaha yeah it's well known Americans do not learn anything about geography at school. They really suck at it.

  • I'd heard the title before in a book, so I clicked on this. But I screamed when I saw Russell Howard.

  • Wales isn't a country... isn't the UK the country? Or is it Britain? I don't know . Wales is a...I don't know, province or something, right?

  • @dozer1189 The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) is a country in its own right and consists of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales :-)

  • @Damnblastify mate Northern Ireland isn't even the full province of Ulster, so its hardly a fucking country, i also love how you add the smug smiley face then get completely destroyed and exposed by like 6 different people on your lack of knowledge

  • @ThePowerV3 Wikipedia says it is... I think it's you who lacks knowledge. Probably because you're republican scum :-)

  • @ThePowerV3 eh it is a country? It shouldnt be.. but it is..

  • @dozer1189 Great Britain is a geographical term, the UK is a country. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are states, like France, Germany, The USA, etc. Except France, Germany and The USA are both countries and states. Great Britain is also an island, like Australia or Japan.

  • @RaincloudPlay The UK is not a country. It's four separate countries that make up a Sovereign State. Like Europe. Great Britain is the island.

  • WALES!

  • I thought she was fat? Did she lose extreme weight or is this really old? She was defo chubby last time I saw?

  • It amazes me Bush has never seemed bright, yet he went to both Yale and Harvard- supposedly 2 of the best colleges in America.

  • @musicstudenteire donations mate. big bush family donations.

  • @musicstudenteire .. 2 of the best colleges in the world actually..

  • @allpeeps4me Yup i suppose, but given bush went there i'd limit the amount of credit & respect i have for them.

  • @musicstudenteire its amazing what daddy and his paycheck can do...

  • And I thought Oh Love!!! that cracks me up all the time LOL

  • yaaaaaaay WALES :D

  • Far be it from me to ever defend Dubya's alleged intelligence, but he may have meant state as in "State of the Union", in other words, "What is the situation in Wales?"

  • To fair... where are many "Wales" in USA: (wikipedia) Wales, Alaska Lake Wales, Florida Wales, Maine Wales, Massachusetts Wales Township, Michigan North Wales, Pennsylvania Wales, New York Wales, North Dakota Wales, Utah Wales, Wisconsin

Deal with it. GWB was not wrong by asking that. OK ?

  • @whateverfastman And I suppose they all have her accent as well then?

  • @Nelatherion have you ever been to USA ? There are a lot of accents! Can you identify a texas accent from Alaska one? C'mon...

  • @whateverfastman Most probably, but do any of them sound Welsh?

  • @Nelatherion What ? O...k... lets go to the basics of common sense. If you don't all the accents that are in USA... if there are many cities called Wales in USA... if you are from USA... if you cannot identify the accent of a woman that says that she is from Wales... then isn't common sense to ask "which state?". Not only is common sense... but is also... more probable to be a state! Get it ??

  • @whateverfastman So you are insinuating that Welsh people sound American? Because they don't.

  • @whateverfastman

um ya, put Sarah Palin up against GWB, I hope to God you can tell the difference.

  • @SoapStar4Life I never thought I'd ever encounter a politician that managed to make Bush look intelligent, but she managed it.

  • @whateverfastman Maybe not wrong, but definitely showing his ignorance, and obviously failing to recognise on that occasion that there is a world outside of his fifty states.

  • the welsh accent is horrible.

  • PROUD TO BE WELSH BABY! YOU GO GIRL!

    :)

  • To be fair....we have many towns in the US with names like Scotland, Maryland...or Warsaw, Indiana, etc. Good old George thought there was a Wales somewhere in one of our states.

  • Charlotte Church what a gorgeous woman, she has everything bGavin Henson must be mad to let her go

  • who's that Welsh chick?

  • @EuroNoobz Charlotte Church, famous Welsh girl.

  • To be fair on Dubya, Wales isn't really a country.

  • @TheCrabPope I said that to a welsh person and I got told off in a very "colourful" way.

  • @TheCrabPope ?? err... yes it is

  • @WhatK8yBethdid Where is the Welsh army, independent welsh government, welsh seat on the UN, welsh Olympic team?

  • @TheCrabPope 18-10-97, welsh people voted in favour of devolution in Wales, before that they were governed entirely by the UK government in london. After that, they were given the powers to make secondary laws. Wales is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. The UK is a unitary state, in the house of commons Wales is represented by 40 MPs. UN membership is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition for functioning statehood. Wales has its own language, own flag, national anthem.

  • @WhatK8yBethdid It's a country in name only. UN membership is evidence of the existence of a country. Catalonia has its own devolved government, language, flag and national anthem. Is Catalonia a country?

  • @TheCrabPope Catalonia is not a country no, but we are talking about Wales, which is represented by the UNITED KINGDOM in the UN and if you believe that you have to be a member of the UN to be a country, then I suppose you don' count Kosovo, Taiwan or the vatican City.... tbh, no argument was ever solved over youtube... just going to leave it there...

  • @TheCrabPope At international sporting events such as the commonwealth games, Wales is represented by national teams regulated and organised by over fifty national governing bodies of sports in Wales. At the Olympic Games, Welsh athletes compete as part of a Great Britain team! Ever heard of Colin Jackson?

  • RUSSELL FUCKING HOWARD <3

  • Is it just me, or does Maggie Gyllenhal NOT look impressed...?!?! :S

  • @Jazperanza she definitely doesn't seam pleased at all! i think that's kind of her personality though not just the content of the story because I've seen her like that in interviews a number of times. Maybe she's just kind of a shy person!

  • @Jazperanza Well that's what I thought, a Welsh girl insulting her (former) president, etc etc, but Maggie Gyllenhall was an outspoken critic of GW Bush, she campaigned with Obama and John Kerry, and joined anti-war (read: "anti-republican") protests when the Iraq War broke out, so she can't like Bush that much. Maybe she was just bored?

  • @spider23000 indeed....? didn't know that... yes, probably just absent-minded then :L

  • @Jazperanza she's a democrat

  • @simranjeet12345 so, just unimpressed with george Bush then... ;-) Can we blame her?! :D

  • You yourself don't have to be ignorant to be a leader, just everybody else. It's true everywhere.

  • I love the way she says "Aw, love." So cute!

  • @Miakosamuio i love the welsh accent

    its why I moved there

  • I'm Charlotte Church's cousin!

  • Actually I have to admit there are 7 different Wales in America, there's a Wales, Alaska, Wales, Maine, Wales, Massachusetts, Wales, New York, Wales, North Dakota, Wales, Utah, and a Wales, Wisconsin...

  • @NAnJ4 i doubt he knew that lol

  • @beccaRed11

    I doubt he did too

  • "aw, love" - hahahaha :D

  • I wouldn't say it's an unusual response, typical of American's to be ignorant about the rest of the world

  • @MattQ94 At least this American isn't ignorant about apostrophe usage.

  • @cholling1 Yep just realised it wasn't needed after American, more of a typo than ignorance though.

  • who is she? She's quite funny, actually :-)

  • He was being sarcastic.... That's not an unusual response from an American....

  • pissed myself laughing!!

  • Fuckin hell!

  • It's wales for gods sake, who gives a shit.

  • @purplenurps Welsh people. Besides thats not the point, the point is Bush is a retard and so are you!

  • @nrjelley No i'm and not and neither is he, i bet he's smarter than you. You don't even understand a joke.

  • @purplenurps That wasn't a joke, and if it was, it wasn't funny. It was offensive.

Now shut up. No one wants to hear your unimaginative and vain comebacks.

  • @aymthebest No it's a joke get a sense of humor

  • @nrjelley You know there is actually a place in America called Wales.

  • @pizazzify And people from there would not sound Welsh.

  • @purplenurps I give a shit that my country was accused of being in AMERICA for gods sake!

  • @Cleo4696 So it's bad to hate wales but not america?

  • @purplenurps No it's a joke, get a sense of humour!

  • @Cleo4696 I wasn't offended, it was a genuine question you moron

  • Wales rules all !!

  • Go Russel Howard!

  • BULLSHIT BITCH

  • I'm not defending Bush, I'm by no means a fan of his but when I read the title of this video I actually thought the question was asking, what state of being is Wales in? which would be a semi legitimate question coming from the president.

  • Maggie's face :54 she's not happy!

  • That's a different level of thick LOL

  • I love the way she says "Oh love" sooooo much! Her sexy welsh accent sends shivers down my spine :P

  • Bush is an idiot but this time I have to say that, he didn't have to know she is not talking about Wales in USA (there is such a town and she could be living in States, even having this accent..) plus he does not have to know every single town in US.

Honestly, I dont know who this girl is and most people outside Britain doesn't know too, so unless somebody told him before tha meeting she is a British celebrity, he probably havent had a clue she is not living in US. She is just being smart ass...

  • @Lenee76 She is so obviously welsh, that when she said she's from wales it should of clicked. She was not being a smart ass, everyone sounds like a smart ass compared.

Btw, her name is charlotte church, famous child classical singer, sung with the AWESOME placido domingo.

  • @Lenee76 Don't make excuses because you come from a country that that elected someone who did not even have a fucking passport!!! George Doubleyuo Bush had never even left America.. never even been to Canada or Mexico or any fucking place. And 'folk' thought he had good 'foreign' policy. And for your information most towns in America are named after every other place in the rest of the world. I can't be bothered to explain why....think about it...You are right tho.. HE DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE!!

  • @BlogBitch lol..you chose a good nick for yourself...btw. I am not from States and I am not Bush fan. I am also not making excuses but expressing my opinion (if you don't mind) on this particular situation :) so chill....

  • Wales is in Massachusetts...

  • @cyberWarriorZ seriously though, she sounds welsh, says she comes from wales, and he thinks she's from america??? It don't matter if there is a wales in america, i'm sure none of them have a welsh accent.

  • @rpalmatron My point is, Bush was probably messing with her. Or he probably IS a retard.

  • @cyberWarriorZ Probably? Try undeniably lol.

  • "That's a different level of thick isn't it?" I love Russell Howard :P

  • Graham Norton banter

  • Comment removed

  • someone should break it to her that wales is not its own country - I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but everyone seems to forget that our country is the united Kingdom. Shit name but there you go.

  • Comment removed

  • @Alishhh4 nope, wales is definitely it's own country lol

  • @Alishhh4 wow geography fail. thats like saying north america is a country

  • lol funny how she doesn't understand the definition of state. So in some respect Bush is right to call Wales a state...since it is a separate country or as some people would say, Nation state...so I guess Bush is dumb for not knowing about another country but she + cast + audience are also dumb for not knowing a word.

SO YESH, everyones dumb. Great compromise I do say so myself.

  • @NoNoseProduction:

1st, u didnt notice the title of the clip, which is "what state is wales in."

2nd, u didnt even hear the clip & made an erroneous statement by saying that bush said something he didnt.

3rd, u failed to notice that my comment isnt removed. look below.

  • @rumpole33

    1) I actually wrote it out in such a way that it actually explains both sides of both idiots.

2)And I did listen to the clip I just went further into it then you did. Sorry I have analytical mind.

3)Sorry it was marked as spam.

  • @NoNoseProduction:

1 - ACTUALLY u said that bush said wales was a state or nation state, but since THAT WAS CLEARLY A LIE on your part, there can be NOTHING for u to explain "both sides of."

2- obviously u arent being honest about what's in the clip & EVEN THE TITLE OF THE CLIP, so that proves you do NOT have an ANALYTICAL MIND, unless ur analyzing a FALSE SCENARIO.

3- ur comment was marked as spam (not by me) probably cuz ANYBODY ELSE can see that my comment was NOT REMOVED.

  • @rumpole33

    1) nope didn't say that.

    2) You don't need caps to state a point, I just dug more into the scenario.

    3) "This has been flagged as spam show

    rumpole33 19 hours ago"

now off the point by point, stop getting so excited, you are only arguing on the internet.

  • @NoNoseProduction:

1- wow. a congential liar? r u bush or cheney?

ur quote: "So in some respect Bush is right to call Wales a state...since it is a separate country or as some people would say, Nation state"

2- u cant call it a 'scenario' when u make up a lie.

3 - ur a liar if u say my comment was marked as spam.

4 - since ur 'only arguing on the internet,' then u dont need to get so desperate so as to lie about what u wrote here where all can see it by just scrolling up.

  • 1)I can spell, I am not 12. All politicians lie, not saying that is right but saying that you can't hold a 12 year old grudge against things you barely understand. Because I am not lying if I am talking from my perspective.

Do you know what a nation state is? If so, then I am not lying.

    2) Scenarios are hypothetical might of never occurred but can be related to the conversation even part of the argument.

    3) Your comment was marked spam, sadly.

    4) You argue like a child, simple.

  • @you are now on a different level of thick compared to george bush

  • How did he get voted as prime minister????!??!?

  • @333gabrielle he didn't he was voted president ;-)

  • @TheAlonzi Er...No he wasn't. Not legally.

  • @Englishtenor2 either way.. he he wasn't voted prime minister.. two different countries and democratic societies etc :P

  • haha maggie looks well awkward

  • I would aww george bush, but then again he is a total ass. BTW it was a fix and there was a valid reason for the protests.

  • I'm willing to bet that the first time he met Gordon Brown he couldn't understand how a scotsman could be prime minister of Britain. Their conversation probably went like this;

"Hey buddy where are you from?"

    "Scotland."

"Scotland! Are Scottish people allowed to be prime minister of England?"

  • Hahaha oh dear. Shows how stupid some people can be. Cymru am byth!

  • I do think Bush was thinking along the lines of Wales being the equivalent of a state in the UK. He isn't that thick, because you don't graduate from Yale and Harvard by being thick.

  • @Warrenpotter yeah well when his parents can afford it that ofcourse that dush is thick

  • @Warrenpotter yes but he should be smart enough to know that wales is a COUNTRY not a state and we don't call them 'states' in the UK we say counties

  • @MissLouiseeMary He never claimed Wales was a state. He asked what state it was IN. There's lots of small towns and cities in the US named "Wales", so it made sense as a question. If you mentioned a place called "Perth" to an Australian while you are in Australia, you wouldn't assume the Australian is an idiot for assuming you meant the one in Australia and not the one in Scotland, would you?

  • @dunbar9finger Yes......but with an accent like her's?

  • @dunbar9finger uh, you would if you had a heavy scottish accent and were very famous at the time

  • @Warrenpotter no youre right. you graduate from Yale and Harvard by having tons and tons of money.

  • correct me if I am wrong isn't the so famous princess diana whom everybody knows referred to as princess of wales I live on the other part of the world and I know that wales is part of England he so stupid I honestly don't know how he was elected twice by the americans

  • @morganite100 Wales isnt part of England. Thats like saying Jordan is a part of Israel. Wales is a part of the United Kingdom. England, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Wales together are called the United Kingdom.

  • @morganite100 It's not a part of England. Because the capital of Britain is in England many foreign people (particularly Americans) refer to England as the whole of Britain. But it isn't. Britain is a country made up of 3 smaller countries (if you don't count Northern Ireland... I'm not sure if it is still in Britain (if it is Britain would be 4 countries)) called Scotland, England and Wales.

Many Scots, Welsh and Irish find it insulting when you refer to Britain as England.

  • @tj4234

thanx for your correction I meant England as UK but I said it in a wrong way

  • @tj4234 Yes the North of Ireland is still in Britain......thats why its called the north, because the south is a republic and sovereign state.....and... lol.....Irish cud't care less if you called refered to Britain as England....were not british...welsh and scots will be well pissed but lol.

  • correct me if I am wrong isn't princess diana referred to as princess of wales I live on the other part of the world and I know that wales is part of England he so stupid I honestly don't know how he was elected twice by the americans

  • correct me if I am wrong isn't princess diana referred to as princess of wales I live on the other part of the world and I know that wales is part of England he so stupid I honestly don't know how he was elected twice by the americans

  • Never one to rise to the defense of George W. Bush, but Wales (Swansea too) is a town in Massachusetts... As a child, I asked my father where our family came from, he said Wales, but in those days it was impossible to find Wales on a map or globe. The best my sister and I could find was "New South Wales." Nice to see that Wales has a higher profile but it wasn't so very long ago when it was considered "just a part of England."

  • Sara Palin seen the wales in dah water in Alaskie! Rite neer Russie.....

  • What a truly pretty, beautiful woman Charlotte is. I am five years less than her, but I will decree, that she is undoubtedly an attractive woman. Her beauty works collaboratively with her vocal excellence in turn creating perfection. I am most certainly purchasing Back to Scratch. Generally speaking, I love how Charlotte incorporates her vibrato into every song. Her ability to sustain a note, and beautify it with her vibrato, is just incredible. Her music is so pleasing to my ears.

  • Comment removed

  • could anyone tell me the song she sang on this ep

  • @g4bde It's called "Don't Think About It" .. it's on youtube.

  • @Lishahhh cheers, i've been searching for it forever ha, thanks alot

  • "You should at least know that it's not in yours" xD

  • @nathankbick95 thats why you watching a british talk show on youtube...yeah

  • Bet he wouldn't know how to refer to people from Wales,, either., or "where do Welsh people come from?" lol Or, "yes Mr. President, there really are people from Wales who live in YOUR country!" Great Norton clip BBC! /^_\\

  • i you wanna chill out, have a beer and talk sports, G.W. is your man, but the dude should have never been president, he is a dumbass

  • what does she say on the 40th second? before saying "if you don't know where my country is.."?
