Why does he let the rosin build up on his violin so? That is not a violinist. That is a showman. I do believe that he possesses the talent and the skill but decided to go for the bucks instead. The violin is not something that just anyone can master. He reminds me of my violin teacher. He went for the bucks later in life as well.

@desconversas Yes I concertized for 19 years nearly all his recordings before I was 17yrs old. I performed both parts of the inventions on my violin; a feit not perfromed by many violinists. Publisihng something like that is entertainment not great music. Children perform the inventions. His celloist is a monster, that I know! She is wonderful. She probably sighted that on the spot. He obviously memorized them - he closed his eyes alot. Read his face. Does he resemble a warrior to you?

It's not Polish but Hungarian...the correct spelling is 'csardas' ( pronounced 'chaardaash').here it is spelt in Polish manner with 'CZ' ( which is 'ch' in Polish)..come to think of it an Italian of all people had to compose this memorable Hungarian gypsy piece..for the best rendition search Sandor Lakatos Monti csardas-a virtuouso performance with Hungarian Gypsy Orchestra..

i, mean, this is gypsy music, and i think it should be very lazy and quite thoughtful, and i think nigel kennedy conveys this very well, a bit like the opposite of maxim vengerov.
