I once made a homemade pull station that lit up, and went out when you pressed it. (Like a doorbell)

I made one out of LEGOs before, it had an LED that indicated power was OK, and when you pulled it, it lit up, sending the signal out to a buzzer. It also has a 12 volt radioshack buzzer inside.
