  • now can you be kind enough to give me directions of how to learn to make a video like this without coming to Ghetto Film School? thanks

  • Fantastic video!

  • The solution to the education problem is to find a way to cause a profound desire for knowledge.

  • AWESOME! The best "bulls-eye" I've encountered in quite awhile.

  • holy shit....that was cool. :)

  • @Artemis5409 I believe that Ghetto Film School does give great opportunities but only for a certain amount of people. Not everyone can be a filmmaker, but the school gives a select few an awesome opportunity to make something of yourself.

  • @Beachpickle1 -More funds to public schools

-US public schools are..bad at the moment

-In the Ghetto Film School, most of the students pass

-Chances to college are a lot higher from GHS

    -Angry Birds is from Finland

  • What's the music used?

  • Now you can graduate from this film school and be jobless like everyone else!

..or work on Jersey shore. Very creative.

  • Could someone please explain this video to a 13 year old ^^' i only understood some of the message. And I would like to know the FULL meaning before I show this to my friends!

  • Very creative!

  • To does who hates this video you all suck!!

i'm proud to be part of that CREATIVITY that takes place in the CINEMA SCHOOL where i attend and i'm very PROUD of it and to GHETTO FILM SCHOOL who gives me opportunity i never had until now. They are all awesome

  • @Artemis5409 go die

  • I'm sorry but no. Just no. We are behind in math, science, and reading; and your answer is that we'll just get by on 'creativity'?? Honestly? Yes, creativity is definetly a good thing but the bottom line is that we are going to have to work our way back up. There is no easy route. Most of this process is going to have to start when kids are young and are developing their values and principles for life. Anyways, its not even that all Americans are stupid. Its just a large portion of mentally inc

  • @commander3046 I think the point is to approach these core educational concepts WITH creativity, not replace them with just creativity. The point is that innovation to engage students makes them passionate and is applicable throughout the school system. I don't think anyone is advcation the the R's be replaced with Adobe tutorials...

  • I blame America's stupidity (debatably undeservingly) on YouTube.

  • Great video. Thanks for being one of the few who support and take advantage of creative thought. Wish nothing but success for GFS.

  • Wheres the love button when u need it?

  • Nice.

  • Kids in singapore today are smartasses, know so much info but commen sense alson dunno

  • All the grammar mistakes in these anti school comments( and others too) are truly quite frightening it's not being asinine it's simply using your mind to appear more eloquent and trustworthy. Oh I forgot one thing America isn't stupid we just have a large quantity of stupid people with access to cameras. Thanks :)

  • YouTube makes people innovative, creative. American.

  • We are all stupid in the US

  • They don't count !!! I talking kids that have learning"disabilities" but that doesn't mean they can't work hard and aren't smart

  • Well china just drops kids that have low grades so

  • The only things this country exports is scarp metal, corn, and shitty movies.

  • @travisimoto that's what they do in Japan. After like 9th grade they all go to a school that specializes in a particular field the student wants to participate in. It gives them direction which is important, which the united states doesn't have.

  • Y dose we need skool?

  • That was so cool

  • Awesome for some reason lots of people don't understand the simple important aspect of education

  • I identify ONE of tour problems, you understand education = tecnology. I'm reading it on tour comments. That's not true....

  • That's not true. You have the best resource of all "creativity"?. We the poor people of the world, we are the creatives. But we don't have the money that you have to make our dreams come true...

  • Follow me @hindaljuwaiyan ... :P

  • This is very inspirational keep it up GFS! Follow us on twitter!! @bredjren

  • @llive2lovepie I'm in public school and I get to use iPads, iPod touches, and Mac Books. Best of all I don't have to pay fortune for it. Suck on that. 

  • @jeffbonowicz11

The real problem is not the children "not giving a fuck", but rather the parents not teaching them properly. (in my opinion)

  • I love this video!!!! It was really powerful

  • We might be behind on everything math, english, science etc.. But we have ranked #1 in confedince in the WHOLE WORLD think about that..

  • This is why YouTube is so vital

  • I loved the whole thing. This is SOOO true, & I'm so glad you are stressing the importance, but the ARTS programs :) This is now in my favorites. Oh, & big-ups to the fact that this was posted on my birthday, Subscribed!!

  • I loved the whole thing. This is SOOO true, & I'm so glad you are stressing the importance, but the ARTS programs :) This is now in my favorites. Oh, & big-ups to the fact that this was posted on my birthday, Subscribed!!

  • tly, fun environment will our country become great once again. Thank you. And thumbs up if you're horny.

  • Wut

    I hav a A en injlich

  • se back to the top is to once again be the first to accomplish something new. Unfortunately, students aren't taught free-thinking skills; rather, they are given concrete facts and told to memorize which is, as we all know, the lowest form of thinking. Students should be taught to analyze, draw conclusions, and form opinions. These skills will lead students on the path to the most important skill of all, creativity. Only then, once students are taught in a supportive, friendly, and most importan

  • I'm am in a privets school and we use laptops, :D

  • Stop trying to blame our country's problems on kids. I'm in eighth grade, and I can tell you that my generation didn't force the U.S. into an economic recession. And also, for those of you think "know" creativity isn't the solution, just think about it. We became a great nation by being the first to create and accomplish things that no one could have thought possible before. But now, other countries are just as capable of producing and achieving what we have accomplished. So, the only way to ri

  • what program did you use to make this?

  • Video done well.

    But you forgot about Russians.

    Again.

    Closing your eyes?

Movie - is the way that America spreads American point of view and shitty culture across the world.

    This is nessesary for brainwash.

    Ofcourse they need this.

  • This is very clever ...... For sheep!

  • I see, creativity can only be learned through film arts... Come on.... Don't exploit a flawed schooling system to boast about a school that is "working"

  • This video is true. Honestly the schools ought to be privatized, not government run since it's effectively a waste of government money. The latter half of the 20th century was not good for America. I say go back to how things were in the early American times where personal freedom allowed creativity and leisure to bring success to the American peoples.

  • This sort of school is fucking stupid. You expect a child to show and rock your world with a camera? You obviously don't know the children from this generation. Me making a movie won't solve a single problem now will it? It might build confidence for public speaking but what's good in that if all this school talks about is making movies and being creative? You can't be creative without having some sort of knowledge of that specific idea. For example I can't solve world hunger by taking a camera

  • @TheLastJok3r My, god you have so much more to learn. Do you not understand the premise of this video? It's focus is in promoting creativity and PUBLIC education in general. It uses there school as an example, but clearly you at an age where you can't comprehend simple things such as this.

  • Excellent! This is what I've been thinking about as an educator for years!!

  • Creativity is what will save the US. Yes we are in trouble. What will save the US is hard work, family values, less welfare (not none, we all know there is abuse), no corporate welfare, no bank bail outs NObama!!!!!!

  • If you people hate creativity so much, I suggest you get off Youtube. Youtube was created specifically for creative people.

  • Schools should enforce STRICT discipline. Coming from an Asian country, I had good grades when disciplined. But when I came to America, my grades sank big time.

  • I really liked this video

  • Oh it's everyone's fault so calm down....some teachers are bad one of my teachers took a white piece of paper and held it to someone and a yellow one to someone else to compare Chinese black and white....some students are slackers ....budgets are low....and look who's ahead of us...CHINA!!!!!!!

  • this reminds me of a ford commercial

  • Hell yeah me 2 @WonderlBread

  • You people need to stop blaming students. I'm an 8th grader right now and yes kids in my grade are slackers but it's also the teachers, budget, and teacher methods. So stop blaming my generation for the problems your generation are creating.

  • @WonderlBread Your right, I totally agree but it kinda is the generation, this generation has access to new means of education and other methods out of the education field.

  • How about kids start giving a fuck and stop being so lazy? You think FUN and creativity are keypoints in China? And look they are about ready to blow by us in every economic and social aspect. Why? Because their kids give a fuck.

  • @JeffBonowicz11 Actually I kinda agree about your statement.

  • How can you put film making in the same category as agriculture and technology?

  • Schools are pretty back-assed right now. Remember kindergarten where you had sooo much fun, and learned the fundamentals of basic subjects? You learn a lot when your at that age, so they used a technique to really get you to learn, it's called FUN. If teachers really want you to learn, you need a new presentation of that subject. Constantly taking notes and reading about things won't stick in your brain as much as learning activities WILL.

  • The video is great, but is makes Americans look very arrogant

  • The video was outstanding BUT I was a little errr that this is an advertisement. As if film-making would benefit the world, pssssssh. Of course I'm overgeneralizing but oh wel

  • Great video! I wonder though, if simply investment in the public education system is enough. To me, it seems a complete overhaul is necessary. GFS proves that there's something missing in the current system, and it's the same thing that Ken Robinson talks about in his famous TED talk. Schools aren't teaching us the skills and attitudes that we need to succeed in the 21st century.

  • @EatenAlive33 Agreed.

  • It's basically an advertisement and they want money..

  • @PEPE7OS We're not the ones using "stupid" as a noun.

  • @Dbersamin What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

  • Being a kid I can say that it's not our fault If we can't connect to the way things are taught. Teachers just don't care enough to try being CREATIVE about teaching and using methods that help us learn.

  • The real problem with our educational system happened when they decided we didn't need the Master Creator in schools anymore. Wake up and face the truth.

  • The real problem with our educational system happened when they decided we didn't need the Master Creator in school anymore. Wake up and face the truth.

  • What a crap! Who can afford to study in ny

  • im glad im watching this cause im taking an intro to teaching for college. thinking about showing this to my professor =D

  • Dude I wish there was a cinemma highschool in washington

  • I think pigs will fly before most students, no matter where, will jump out of bed early in the morning with a big smule on their face ready for school. Just saying ;)

  • @tterminator100 Exactly why I carry a huge umbrella. Have you seen the tirds that flying pigs drop?

  • @This11guy 4.3 GPA? Wouldn't that be over 100 percent? And for someone who goes to "One of the best schools in the nation" you sure don't have a clue what you're saying. Sit down and let grown ups talk Mr. Eagle Scout.

  • @OldSkyStudios ya it is and i am not even in the top 1/2 of my graduating class.... so insted of just insulting me. lets think of a way to fix this this problem bc the last generation fucked us over so we need congress to take some action on this and fix this problem

  • Just get of youtube and stop complaining about the government and get some jobs

  • Oh you god damn progressives ,liberals, democrats, when it comes down to it the definition of those 3 words is COMMUNISTS, and there are 350million reasons why that FAILS

  • Stop blaming teachers...there are many limited required curriculum.....standardized tests....that r culturally bias...we need to help all children excel at what they can do well...whether its academic...artisan....or vocational....i thought it was interesting

  • Is that a vampire weekend-I stand corrected instrumental?! I was listening to it on my iPod before I saw this. =O

  • @EatenAlive33 I agree that kids don't really care about being sent to the principals office, but physical abuse should never be used. There are things kids DO care about, like detention. Or in school suspension. Hitting a kid is cruel, degrading, and obviously illegal. If teachers weren't so boring and obnoxious to their students, kids would behave better. Kids aren't the problem, teachers are.

  • thats my favourite song ever :)

  • @lightningluxray101 I wasn't suggesting physical discipline as a first option, more of a last resort. But sending kids to the office first would be a great plan, but it's come to the point where about half of them don't even care when it comes to that. Honestly, looking at the trends of public schools, I worry for this country's future.

  • Shoot my parents need to watch this

  • This video is awesome. And they are right. Some kids don't care about school anymore. I see a lot of comments that say that kids can't say where other countries are buy think about it. We have things like the iPhone and internet where with a few clicks the answer is there. And possibly more. Don't blame people blame technology it's making us human beings so separated from each other. Just look what I'm doing. I'm writing this comment instead of socializing with my family at the a

  • For trying to promote creativity, the video isn't very creative...

How many videos are presented like this...

    We suck at everything!

  • Aren't there 5 oceans?

  • @layhlalovely that's right ! Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, Antarctic !

  • Nice animation and transitions. Well paced to read and absorb the content.

  • @Orerai where Mexico and Canada 'are'

  • Its like you guys are generalizing that ALL Americans are dumb or stupid. And I beg your pardon its not the kids fault that they don't care. Teachers should find new ways to teach the kids not stick to some boring old method. Plus I know A LOT A LOT of kids that know where Mexico and Canada is and that can name the 4 oceans.

  • The reason is that kids don't care. Not all but alot. 75% of American high school students can't find canada or Mexico on a map. 50% cant name the 4 oceans. Yeah. Really.

  • I speak from experience, it's important for Teachers of future public school to encourage originality and at the same time look at time look at the bigger picture, every child has something special, infect many special imp is we hone what's best and take it easy with rest.... There is more to life

  • The moral of the story is : As long as the teachers don't give a shit and just teach what they need to so they can look forward to going home with their pay, the students are screwed over and fucked...

  • We don't respect teachers, teachers don't respect us, we don't care, they don't care because they already have a career.. But we don't really know where to go :/

  • It's becaz of your government get rid off the department of education !! Than our system will work america i will be on top

  • I think we need to run schools like Julious Caesar ran his Legion. Teach them from birth to die for your greater cause, and throw those martyrs onto the battlefield of life. But I guess creativity and individuality is cool too

  • Rights, whoop de f#ckin do. Our educational system works perfect for our economy back in 1960. 1960! Its 2011! That's 51 years! Its a miracle that we r still in the top 30. U want to no who is the smartest nation right now? Freaking SWEEDEN! or Norway? I don't fucking no bc they never tought me this! I googled it. Anyways hate me praise me I don't care and just so u no I am an Eagle Scout, I have a 4.3 GPA at one of the highest ranked public schools in the nation so whatever I hope I inspired u

  • HEY ALL OF D-BAGS! Hey I am a senior at blue valley north high school in overland park, Kansas. This is addressed to all of u that CARE about what I say. I read 10 comments and I am disgusted by all of u. Most of u are blaming others say the kids, or the teachers or the material. R U ALL F#CKING IDIOTS WTF!! Its the dam school system and the government. Our educational system has not taken a step forward to do shit about this problem in 10 YEARS! and that was no child left behind which gave me r

  • Please dont blame it on the kid. Education begins since birth and if the kid learns that learning and expanding their knowledge is stupid then they wont learn anything by themselves. In my opinion teachears should stop being a teacher a get more involved with the kid speak about life debates fun interactive stuff. And of course motivation for the teacher as well

  • @EatenAlive33 physical discipline is NOT the answer. It's cruel, and plain stupid. It doesn't have any control over kids, and it teaches them that hitting is ok, leading to more disciplinary problems. But you do have a point. many kids in the school systems today don't listen. Lunch detention isn't enough. Getting sent to the principles should be the first form of punishment, not lunch detention. The thing is, is many times kids can be false accused of things, and teachers always believe other

  • Very well put together. I don't get why all the focus was on film school though.

  • What I believe is in the year 2031 Virginia and West Virginia will merge to become one big Virginia. This would be caused by plate tetonics. Like earthquakes will make them slide very close together and merge.this may also happen to California and another state possibly new Mexico.

  • I like the idea. If it's working then great. Something needs to happen. But a camera is not what makes the kids learn.

  • @bluex7delta

I don't think that was the point. It was talking about creativity. Haha

A camera could spark up a lot of things.

  • .... Instrument sounds like more fun right. Chances are the students of the fun music teacher will be more interactive and learn it through fun alternative methods. That's the point of the video. Teach children through creativity

  • Hello older race. It's the younger race speaking. Right now I'm in middle school and people complain about school but they still go. The phase right now, from age 12 - 15 is what most effects peoples choice in education. It's been scientifically proven that if teachers are interesting they get more attention. For example, a music teacher that writes theory on a chalk board and recited it in a monotone voice. Boring right? A music teacher writes out the notes cheerfully then plays it on an instr

  • it was never the kids fault, kids have always, hated learning

  • It's not the kids fault, it's the parents fault for not being a part of their education. Picking kids up and dropping them off at school doesn't make you a proactive school parent. Get involved learn with them.

  • I am a junior in high school an I resent that comment that it is all of the kid's fault. Whenever something goes wrong, the adults in schools say it's the kids fault. Sometimes they don't even know that their own teaching methods are out of style. They need to bring more technology in the classroom.

  • Lol not "you give them"

Its "you give him or her"

  • Bravo, well made video, excellent point. I think that the problem is, kids don't respect their teachers at all. Teachers should use more discipline. Give students something decent to respect. Not "oh, you don't want to do your work? Okay, go to the office, fine with me." It isn't working.

Teachers need to have more power, even physical discipline. It's our future, it can't be controlled by today's youth, because they are too ignorant. Let it be controlled by people whose job is to shape it.

  • I don't blame the system. I blame the kids. Today kids either don't want/like learning. And don't even give proper respect to thier teachers

  • Video communication is the future for all... This is perfect

  • America needs more engineers, plain and simple. People should stop thinking college is a joke when America needs proper engineers.

  • I have done my reading for the day. Lololol

  • Awesome vid!

  • I agree, we must invest in education!! :)

  • Thanks

  • I entirely agree with this entire video. Children and creativity are our future. So many kids despise going to school.

The other problem lies with international statistics. According to one of my teachers (I'm still in high school), several of the top-rated countries make their students take an aptitude test in about seventh grade that decides whether they continue actual school or take vocational classes. The vocational kids don't take the international standardized tests, as far as I can tell.

  • Yes!

I'm completely on board with this!

I see it first hand every day (I'm a sophomore at a private highschool), most of my classmates have transferred from public schools

And they are the most uneducated people I've ever met

They don't know anything about: current events, mathematics, literature, history, foreign language, or science!

Its disappointing because they were given the foundation of not caring about education, therefore they'll never care about education.

    This is long overdue.

  • Gay

  • I really doubt that there's anything to prove the us is the most creative country....

  • Go to the library, get a calculus book, read it. If you rely on someone else now, you will rely on someone else for the rest of you life and YOU WILL BE DISAPOINTED. teachers are limited as to "how hard" they can be on students. There will always be those who "don't listen". There is not much anyone can do about that. As long as your on the right path, that's all YOU can do. You'll be supporting their welfare habit in the years to come.

  • No, no, no. As an A+ Student I can tell you what we need. We need teachers to be harder on students. There should be higher consequences. The reason kids don't get the education they need is BECAUSE THEY DON'T LISTEN! The US spends an average $13,000 per student/yr. On their education!! In my high school there are NO advanced classes. There is the 'gay straight alliance' but no advanced math class!!!

  • My comment got cut off, this is the end of my previous comment...

The book that I had to make a special trip to the library for, kid now have available online in the palm of their hand. With no effort comes no appreciation. I'm an engineer, I never stop absorbing information. I apply that knowledge daily to better anything that I can. I never blamed my parents or my teachers for educational inadequacy. They had their hands full spoon feeding all the idiots who couldn't think for themselves.

  • As an American I believe that American students are given the resources needed for an adequate if not excellent education. In addition to the public education system millions of texts from biographies to technical resources are available in libraries and online. In most cases there is no limit to what students have access to. The problem is most kids take these resources for granted. Everything is handed to them an a platter. Nothing requires an effort to obtain. The books that I had to mak

  • It's not about the world doesn't needs US, it's about US needs the rest of the world, and creativity is not a privilage for US, rest of the world doesn't needs US for creativity, creativity is available for everyone, in any part of the world.

  • Why US has to be the best country on education? It still has good education, but other country can be superior.

  • Kyledoman very true they dont add that to the equation instead they blame teachers, schools and school time when really its the culture that has evolved in students to not care and not try, the parents have grown them to not care and do watever they want.

  • powerful stuff here

  • Fantastic video! Well animated, informative and very eye opening.

Students would work MUCH harder if they are asked to do the things they care about.

This goes both way, if we follow the video above we could potentially SPOIL our students. So there needs to be a balance between commitment and pursuing only what students love.

In this situation, HS dropouts are at it's highest and it is very sad.

  • K.S.A is the best in the world

  • The goverment doesnt really consider the facts that a lot of kods just dont give a fuck about school.

  • เพราะมาก

  • @bcbwnews I believe he is talking about the ignorance shown by the Tea Party as a direct result of a closed mind and little in the way of higher education. I suggest more closely examining the meaning before announcing your interpretation.

  • @investwebbot how in the hell does the tea party regulate our education? Ever heard of the department of education? That's a Federal dept. Thus our lovely government decides what we learn and don't learn. Stop blaming a group of people who are not involved in something, based on personal bias.

  • Slovenia!!!! :D

  • The public school system was thought up by soviets from Russia in the 1800's

  • Teaparty = Education Failure....

  • The problems of the USA are the republicans, the most stupids of the world (CAVERNICOLOUS).

  • Comment removed

  • This is made with after effects right?

  • @Watchdawg yes

  • That's why u.s.a sucks o.b.a.m.a one big ass mistake America

  • @202chilly Lol your comment made me ROFL.

  • plz watch Gravediggers new single, "For thou that remains" official music video its awesome check it out

  • #1 resource that america can produce is millitary..........

  • There's only one problem. I can't read.

  • Can somebody please tell me a program i can use to make videos like this? (Not this this kind of level, but videos that go like this. )

The church in my town had a very nice inspirational video made like this and i'd like to make one for a school project. If you can suggest some programs (or the best one!) i'd really be appreciative. Thanks in advance to anybody who can help me.

  • Extremely Good!! Nice job..! Keep it up!

  • Very nice!!! Wish I could go :)

  • Post industrial society indeed. . .sick animation though.

  • Wow. This is really good animation. Nice job!

  • But you can't really talk about Asian countries being higher educated. They are taught to memorize, we are taught to THINK.
