I agree with the loudness of the guitar but I know that when your playing you hardly notice it, sometimes it's more to do with where the mic is placed.

Oh I almost forgot if you get clammy hands and the pick falls out... gorilla snot works wonders. I use Dunlop picks.. you can also moisten your hand a little bit.... keeps the picks kinda stuck to your finger..
