@bizzzleshizzzle To be fair, I didn't get to the Jarl for an even longer time. I did half the companion quests, did a LOT of exploring, etc. I think you can get through like 60% of the game before even needing to touch the main quest.

@VagueReferenceHere I completed the Companions quest, cured my (*_*SPOILERS*_*) Lycanthropy(*_*SPOILERS OVER*_*), got married and did 2 side quests before speaking to the Jarl. Also, before speaking to the Jarl, I began using the Alchemist's Shack for a house.
