gp-5 is completely safe look it up I use it all the time and is very comfortable and easy to breath through.

@Zehcnas89 He's Right this gas mask is a PMK the way you can tell the difference is the eye pieces. The GP-7 has circular eye pieces but the PMK has rectangular eye pieces

@Dithrick its because supposedly the lower you go to the ground the better quality the air will be ( like in a house fire you have to crawl under the smoke to get out) so they put the filter on that hose to get it lower so it has to do less work and there is more chance of surviving (and looking prety stupid)

If you want to have a rare mask try to get ure hands on a schr1 gas mask or the schr 2 gas mask there for people with head wounds in battle and there backs of the mask are extremlly long to fit bandages, the schr 1 is almost inpossible to find but awsome

that rubber piece around the inside of the mask is an inner face seal, similar to ones on most modern masks eg S10, M40 etc. In the video you are wearing it correctly.

Those extra lenses that you have should go over the top of the existing ones for extra ballistic protection, similar to M17 outserts.

they arent inserts, they are called outserts and you would be suprised, I have ones for my S10, without them the lenses would just just shatter, but with them it can take a hit from an air rifle. My ones are only 2mm thick too, so its more about materials than thickness

I've finally bought a GP-5 in the Hospital In The Rock (the GP-5 is rare here in Hungary, I bought the last GP-5 they had for sale). By the way the Hospital In The Rock is a cool museum, I recommend it to everyone who knows where Hungary is and can get here.

well asbestos is highly resistant to chemicals and biological agents and air can pass throught it so it made scence at the time
