  • I respect Billy Sheehan as a bass player, he's amazing, but man is he one ugly ass old lookin dude.

  • I think these guys look full of themselves. The bass player points out into the crowd as if to say, "yeah I'm cool!". Steve looks like Farrah Fawcet standing in front of a fan at a model shoot. A little humility would help.

  • @rogofam You're forgetting one very important thing there rogo. I don't know, maybe you had your sound down or something, but everyone in that AUDIENCE is there for the MUSIC. As far as I'm concerned Steve and Co. could have had a giant advertisement for time shares right behind the drum kit. They can do or look however they want when they've put in the technical and emotional mastery of which a song like this requires.

Contrary to popular belief... it's not ALL about IMAGE.

  • @rogofam Full of themselves? That's called putting on a show, what's wrong with enjoying what you do? That's called a performance.

  • 9 people didn't get a church. -_-

  • Steve Vai is a great inspiration to all of us. Dissing him or the video make feel some people feel better about themselves for a minute or two, but the next days they will still be them, and their situation will still be the same.

  • I like the main theme of this song starting at 0:22 but I don't like the tapping at the beginning. Am I the only one? The tepping in the middle of the song, starting at 3:10 seems to fit better but I can't help myself thinking that it is getting out of timing at 3:28. What are you freaks thinking? Oh I know, he is a guitar god and I'm a fool right? But just try to be objective.

  • @TheSchneemann88

he explained trying to go for such a weird pattern and timing.. you understand what he means when you try to play it, its actually hard to keep the timing, but it always sounds on the verge of being off time while being in time.. thats so vai :)

  • @Pierceher Ok. think I know what you mean. If you listen to the melody played on the lower strings, it sounds out of time but if you listen to the melody on higher notes it seems to be in time. Interesting! Thanks for your comment. Nevertheless, it may be difficult to play such technical patterns but it is even more difficult to play mlodies which bring tears in your eyes! Steve is a great musician and I would like to hear great harmonies from him rather then hearing him tepping around.

  • What' s the difference between the two necks of Bill's bass?

  • i just can not find out what makes mr. billy sheehan able to shake his head so many times.....!!!

    what a level of energy...!!!

    :)

  • so hammer :DD

  • did anybody noticed that billy sheehan is on the bass? :P

  • It's the first double neck bass i saw Oo

  • oh my f*cking god, thats incredible amazing, steve vai rules ! *.*

  • Damn. I wanna learn this, but I don't know if I can even touch that...

  • Soooo Gooood!!!!

  • Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Anything is possible when you think before you comment or post.

    Im on a computer

  • @colorfulldamage Oh my god. Best. Comment. Ever.

  • @colorfulldamage ahahahah that's hilarious

  • im just curious... what was Vai doing to stumble into such a strange riff? like... REALLY

  • Acid improved my creativity somewhat, so does respectful use of lady sativa. Pointed meditations help where the goal of your focus is s ouly on the task at hand.... but above all you gotta be in it for the long haul, not give up every time you hit a wrong note, refuse to be beaten, fuck what other people think of your path and just go for it!

  • Can comments please be about the video and not about who liked and disliked?

  • @borisvankatwijk wouldnt that be nice? but no. apparently the popularity contest that is high school isnt enough for these people. and here they are on youtube. bieber jokes and likes and dislikes comments are like the internet equivalent of wearing skinny jeans. everyone's doing it, and a lot of people make it look really fuckin dumb

  • @bveags75 if you had a dislike button on yourface id hit it but then again id hit you in the face anyway

  • Comment removed

  • I think Youtube needs to seperate Like and Dislike button at each end of the video player to stop these nerds from typing "accidentally hit dislike button" ...it would save youtube alot of bandwidth (mass comments)

Some people troll and hit dislike to get those comments or they dislike it themselves and type someone should be shot for hitting dislike, or it simply isn't someones cup o' tea.

    Either way, Vai is awesome.

  • L.E.D. guitar fret markers! WIN!

  • Ok, 5:08 got me I have never seenhamonics played with your face before.

  • @Gtrmaestro its his tongue but yeah its amazing

  • 0:47 - 0:52 reminds me of f-zero xD

very cool song anyway! i just love the tapping part at the beginning.

  • Amazing - is that Tony Mcalpine playing guitar and keys on this?

  • @LeftyF2003 Yup.

  • the 5 people who disliked this can't even handle a ukalele.

  • @judegines

Actually, it was probably his wankery that they didn't like...

    I don't really mind it.

  • i can see 4 assholes watched this video

  • does he have a chorus going on this version, i cant tell. i can hear the reverb and delay but for reason i feel as if hes got a chorus going. the melody has that epic sound to it

  • 5:19 to the end is the greatest thing ive ever heard on guitar...

  • He's pretty scarry. .. A true guitar wizard

  • awesome

  • steve vai continues 2 learn from satriani .

Thumbs up 4 2 fuckin amazing guitarists

  • 5:07 WTF!!!

  • @rampage222555 ever seen guitar played with a mans tongue?

  • Vai + Sheenan = Awesome!!

  • Comment removed

  • 5:21 sacred sound

  • @dionarapthevicious Ahh yes. A superior level that not even Goku himself could comprehend.

  • great bass tone as well Billy is an awesome player but usually his tone is really fluffy and nasty - nice to hear a tight punchy sound from him.

  • @MARNUY u can make it only with the guitar, I have a gemini pedal reverv and delay FTW!

and a 300 hours of practicing the tapping ^^

  • I'm actually shocked that someone could even hit the dislike button here. With a song like this you should be taking extra care to make sure you don't hit it.

  • @fay2212

They hit the dislike button because they were about to hang themselves, knowing that they'll never be even a tenth as awesome.

  • @fay2212 10 People were to high to notice there was a dislike button.

  • @TheSLK66 too high*

  • how does he get that sound on the guitar in the beginning?

  • @TheAndols91 I'm pretty sure one of MOJO's pickups is a synth pickup. It's hard to see if he switches pickups in the video, but I know for a fact he used a synth pickup in the original album recording.

  • @TheAndols91

is not only the guitar, is the guitar and keyboard

  • That's a badass guitar. Great tremolo system, sustainer, lights, MOJO!

  • @MeltedButterCorp dude i fn know that but that idot woldnt realize that steve is the shit so i had to get it through his head

  • que imagen ruimmmm

  • Damnit now i wanna make my Guitar SCREEAAAAM!!! >:D

  • no one reaches steve vai on gutar, not only is he a creative genious with music be he has unbelievable skill, he is truly a guitar god

  • randy rhaods sucks steve vai's penis.steve vai is on another leven than randy .yet randy is good.but not as good.everyone agree??

  • @HitmanNeel

    Sure Do ;)

  • @HitmanNeel Vai is alive while Randy died 30 years ago. If Randy was able to play for another 30 years do you not think he'd still be one of the best?

  • @Jasn1111 honestly i would say he would be still one of the bestt

  • @Jasn1111 but if you think about it, Vai was playing like this since several years ago, and he's in another leage just because of his creativity and out-of-the-box mind scheme, but hey, i'm just sayin', it's your opinion ;) Cheers!

  • @HitmanNeel yes, but I wouldn't say that randy rhoads sucks dicks!

  • @BolFelix ha neither would i on any other day but i needed to get it through his head

  • When Sheehan gets his double-necked bass out it means that the band is playing something dangerous! Epic!

  • steve vai is 80's wanna be..

randy rhoads is better than him by a mile...

  • @yvesttt Actually, Steve Vai IS 80's, only bit more modern...you didn't think think that he's a young upstart of the new millenium, now did you?

  • @yvesttt Randy Rhoads, Indeed is good. But Tony Iommi Destroys Randy. And Steve Vai is a 80s wannabe?!?!? Do your homework.

  • randy rhoads is better

  • @yvesttt not even remotley close dude steve vai could play anything randy could play but theres no way in hell that works the other way around

  • Great tone as well as interesting composition. Steve really has got it all...

  • DAMN HIM!

  • Anyone notice that steve always plays the upanishads (the tapping part that begins at 3.11) different than on the studio version.... I just ask myself why....

  • @RyanvanderSteen

    Cause its music.

  • I'am not gay!but I love Steve vai<3

  • I'am not gay!But I love steve vai<3

  • Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan.. Two Gods!!!!

  • Wait....are those guitar inlays glowing?

  • @FenderSlasher96 they sure are \m/

  • @FenderSlasher96 they have led lights that accepts 9 volts

  • anyone notice the relevance to the early war of the worlds film/soundtrack this has? The First licks of the verse solo's Are the first part of one of the war of the worlds soundtracks, the part in the early film where they all take refuge in an abandonned church, of which someone suggests they rebuild, and call it there home, hence the name "Building the church"

  • 5:20 - sublime :)

  • People who think Slash can compare to Steve Vai are sorely mistaken. Slash is good but he's human. Vai is a god.

  • @mormonjoe Wht even compare the two? Slash is a blues rock based player and has sold over 100 million records. I think he's made a pretty good name for himself. Vai is a different animal all together. Both are great at what they do. I think people make too much of a competition out of music.

  • @bandit7498 I agree. Every single guitar player has their own unique technique. there's no need for a competition to see who's better than anybody. it's music.

  • @mormonjoe Their both amazing at what they do.

  • its Billy Sheehan! Greatest Rock Bassists in the World!

  • Stu Hamm I believe on bass??

    he talented just as well..

  • @cpinto72 this is billy sheehan, also very very talented. i believe stu jams regularly with joe. peace.

  • Steve Vai is the god of all guitarists.

  • I want that guitar! Ibanez makes Yugo stuff for beginners and Lamborghini's for studs. I wouldn't give you a penny for a generic starter guitar.... but I'd pay $2,000 for that axe.

  • @fishguru73 you wouldn't know what to do with a guitar like that and you would just be wasting your money..LOL!!!

  • @fishguru73 As would I. Especially because you would most likely pay in excess of $5,000 for that ax! haha

  • I love this guy. Hes F----- insane. good to watch live, too.

  • Intro riff is fucking great. One of the best riffs I've ever heard.

  • god i love the intro.

  • So taught by Joe satriani

  • BAM

  • seriously.. the end.. it was like techno on guitar... not that i like techno.. i like guitar... but seriously i was like drooling.. dont tell anybody else than ppl on youtube that i was drooling thou.. that wud just be emberassing... vai for president!

  • So Full Of Emotions Song!

  • yeah, his live preformances are always cool just 'cause you get to see the amazing techniques he uses, that you disregard or don't know about when you here it form the studio versio.

  • actually, the best par tis that shiney guitar and the LED lights! haha i wish he'd use that guitar for everything, it's awesome

  • @ironwolg MOJO is one of his favourites along wiht FLO and EVO. Thats why he named them. but he has so many i suppose he has to make use of them all. And test ned ibanez product guitars on the way aswell. I agree tho that axe is amazingly cool

  • He doesnt have to name his guitars its just something he does.EVO 1993 first year of the Jem7V and first Jem made of Alder with Evolutions Hence EVO.Flo,Jem 77FP made of Basswood painted white with custom heel to sport 7V neck. Mojo 05 Basswood and second guitar with 401 sustainer kit.But notice all Vais post 03 Jems that come with Edge Pros, every guitar he plays has Edge trems, but Flo and his 20th that still sport LowPro Edge. Not to mention pre037v had Ebony Fretboards post 03Rosewood WTF

  • The funny thing is its only cool in His hands, haha.

  • No?

just cause it sounds like hes got more feeling and it has that live feeling you just cant get from the album

  • 4:50 awsome!!!

  • Its coll but its better with his new band

  • his new band does sound pretty good but i think thats because, its more studio than this, Vai always sounds good i like his live performances more than his recorded haha

  • love his guitar and billy sheenan is a beast on the bass

  • wtf??? at 13 is that tom morello??

  • no' its tony macalpine...does look like tom morrelo though!

  • impressive

  • seriously?

  • no it's tony

    xD

  • lol lol no, it's tony something.. I dont remember his name ... McAlpin!

  • You cant stop here! this is batcountry!

  • cuz hed report us at once to some outback Nazi law enforcement agency and they'll run us down like dogs!

  • There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning.

  • flawless

  • Steve vai = Guitar God......

  • @ThrashEmAll1 The word GOD is enough

  • i love it when theres long hair blowing in the wind a awsome band playing and Vai or Satriani leading it.

  • crazy drummer as well :D beautiful music..

  • STEVE COME TO POLAND!!!!!!!!!!

  • insane.

  • i'm loving the double neck bass

  • its pretty mad

  • when I caught Sheehan with G3 in Boston a few years ago, he stole the show. Nothing at all against Vai, Sheehan was just a fucking monster!

Vai did have some technical problem though. He was out of his mind pissed, went offstage for a second and threw the guitar in the direction of a tech.

    Great gig! :)

  • never thought Vai could go out of his mind like that :O

  • great sustain!

  • hey, if there are any guitarists out there that want to learn how to play the intro to this song, i just finished uploading a proper instructional video on that part. check it out!

  • Perfect TOne !!!!

  • ys his hair blowing up

  • I reckon he has a wind machine in front of him, it's almost always like that.

  • Probably a fan lol for 2 reasons, looks epic and keeps you cool, it gets hot on stage.

  • agreed

  • LOL may sound gay, but in truth with a fan blowing, it gives you a feeling of i dunno, invincibility? Lets our more emotion, raw feeling, and gives you an adrenaline rush. True stuff.

  • Just like iBob. In his live videos.

He always has his hair blowing, so does Gus.

  • It also keeps the hair out of your face...

  • That's a good point seeing as he moves his head around and has alot of hair lol.

  • Incredible tune! Sheehan on his double neck ultra bass is always a killer! Amazing band!

  • el chavon es un genio
