  • Beastie's should put out another punk record

  • ... NYHC ...

  • best Beastie Boys

  • If the Beastie Boys had stuck with punk instead of going hip-hop, I believe they could possibly be one of the top 20 or 30 punk bands ever.

  • @danielscissorhands

but instead they became one of the greatest BANDS of the last 30 years.......cite 'Check Your Head' and 'The Mix Up

'. They didn't limit themselves to just punk. And god bless em

  • @WoodyAllenNY

you could get beat up at a peace rally >.<

  • @danielscissorhands if they had never gone hip hop, you may have never heard of them. I know I wouldn't have.

  • thats the first MT song i heard

  • @PerrisPunk96 are you saying just now was the first time you ever heard minor threat???

  • I don't give a fuck what anyone says, this shit is dope as fuck.

  • I gotta agree with @simpsons2170, it's just strange to hear the group that did crap like "Girls" and "Brass Monkey" covering a Minor Threat song.

  • @jimmyjazz82391 beasties were a hardcore band before they ventured into hip hop.....

  • @johndillinger1932 Regardless.

  • @johndillinger1932 And they got their name from the Bad Brains because they wanted to use the same initials as them

  • i have ta say i like both hardcore n hip hop n also mix of both n beastie boys are realy great at both YAY!! n beastie boys r knicks fans hehe

  • hahaha this is HC

  • hahaha, its soo terrible in such a funny way...only the beastie boys could pull this off.

  • @simpsons2170 I see nothing terrible about this, It's great.

  • @simpsons2170 stupid ass its a minor threat cover do some research before you make a stupid ass comment, its perfect

  • @keepitacrime i like the beastie boys, but this cover is just terrible in a funny way. i know it's a minor threat cover, what's your point? when minor threat did the song it blows my face away, when the beasties do it with their brooklyn accents (screamin at waullll!) i find it hilarious. why are you so hostile? are you like 13 or something?

  • I can't belive what some of you wrote about this band, that's stupid! Why do they have to choose? They can do both! When you listen to their hiphop music you hear the punk hc influence and vice versa.. (in the hardcore songs, the hiphop music...) Don't be short sided and dumb people!

  • "screaming at A wall"

am I the only one going to correct this?

  • beastie boys HC it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice cover. hip hop is for d*umbas*s

  • only the beastie boys can pull of hip hop and punk without fucking up or looking like dicks!

  • damn they never should have went 2 hip hop

  • Not sure about now, but the in the 90's Beastie Boys did a few songs of hardcore stuff as part of every live show. They've always been a multi-genre band.

  • @jockojonson17 I saw them in 2007 and they played some of their hardcore stuff, awesome band

  • Beastie Boys are fucking awesome. fuck you.

  • Even though they went into hip hop, they were a real hardcore punk band. After Paul's Boutique, they really became good musicians and this was the time they got back into their punk roots. Love them as both punk and hip hop. Great cover too.

  • There are plenty of Hardcore bands to listen to that sound like this. There are not really any Hip-hop groups who sound like the Beastie Boys.

    It's better they stayed Hip-hop.

  • @elguapo136 ....not so...they always have and do play some of the best punk.

  • wow, i was expecting like that crappy hip hop kinda stuff these guys do. i watched this for laughs. must say im presently surprised. this was actually pretty good

  • dude you must not know beastie boys, they started out hardcore

  • yeah, i just was never really looked into them. i heard their crappy hiphop first so i was turned off

  • @ben12895 ...Cheers!!!

  • you obviously don't know what hiphop means so don't call pita bread crappy if you're putting it in your nostrils and not your mouth.

    but yes, b.e.a.s.t.i.e.

  • dude, chill, i dont care what genre of crap they are, i dont listen to them. i was just stating a point that i wasnt expecting what i got.

  • when was this recorded?

  • Beastie Boys HC > Beastie Boys hip-hop

  • hell yes, amen to that

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE Hardcore punk is by far my favorite genre of music, but as far as the beastie boys go, they were a mediocre hc band.

  • @sxepunk336 mediocre? i dont think so this is how hardcore punk is supposed to sound

  • @dombaglivo I know that dumb ass, i'm saying that there were bands in the 80's and from now that sound vastly better than Beastie Boys. I could think of 20 hardcore bands off the top off my head that are much better than the beastie boys when they started as a HC band. They sounded solid in the 90's as a hc band, but they truly excel as a hip hop group. i'm not hating on the beasties, but most their songs from their 80's hc stuff is sloppy at best.

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE Hahahaha, no. They were a solid enough hardcore band and the hardcore tracks on their hip hop albums are great but no. They improved ten fold when they began rapping.

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE no way man you're silly

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE don't fuck, they're unique for their hh stuff. i love them for hc/punk songs, but don't say it was better.

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE Very much possible...

  • Favourite Minor Threat song covered by another one of my favourite bands. Fucking sweeeeeeeet.

  • Dude Beastie Boys hardcore is fucking amazing don't know why they stopped.

  • @bumpy105 This was created after they grew up and developed musically, when the group started doing hardcore they didn;t have the musical ability to do the stuff their heros (the Bad Brains) were doing.

  • I them better now than as rappers but I like them as rappers too

  • Comment removed

  • OK WTF...Was that English.

  • Its screaming at a wall lol. sorry about being a douche

  • Good point. I'd also add Greg Ginn of Black Flag who's gone in many different directions musically.

  • BROOTAL

  • EPIC!!!!!

  • KILLER

  • circle pit!

  • awesome

  • why did they start rap? they were awesome hardcore. still though hello nasty is ok

  • the whole hardcore scene died out and they had to do somthing else lol

  • sick mosh bro

  • wow theyre brilliant

  • used to be punk...they are punk as "FUCK"!!! original...have u heard any of thier punk its hard(punk) as it gets!!!!!

  • its nowhere near as hard as it gets.

  • I LIKE HOW THEY USED TO BE PUNK, They even played a show with the Misfits back in 81 or 81 at the Irving Plaza in Ny

  • They played a ton of shows with the Misfits

  • still are

  • what year is this?

  • props to the beastie boys for a badass cover

  • Yea,buddy!!!

  • they also have the AGLIO E OLIO album, with their old skool punk songs.. just google it! :)

  • Is It Fuck.

  • crazy dude!

  • dont be silly.

  • dude where's the album for this?

  • i dont know if this is on an album, but im getting a copy of "pollywog stew" tommorow from my nieghbor. thats their only punk album.(i think)

  • Great stuff. Cool bass run too.

  • not bad.

  • wow beastie boys where great

  • thats punk for u =D

  • new stuffs ok, hardcore stuff was much better!

  • "MyChemicalAlesana"

    LOL

  • It's become pretty clear that you are a troll account. Time to create a new one.

  • your a joke, keep listening to your new wave emo bullshit and leave hardcore to the people who can handle it

  • Wow. This isn't bad at all.

  • awesome thnxx for posting :)

  • I wish I was a punk in the early 80's. So many things I missed out on. Damn.

Nice cover btws. I always apreciate Beasties Punk music

  • whats the big deal about saying nigga. i say that around my black friends. they dont get offended at all. talk to some black people and get to know some before you say somethings racist you fucking hipocrits. btw AWESOME COVER!!! love Minor Threat.

  • i no wats the big fucking deal about nigga i say it all the time and nobody cares.

  • Beastie Boys

    MINOR THREAT

  • holy crap this is fuckin amazing.

  • they play brutally and fuckin' loud, I like to consider them as a rap group but what the hell, they are an awesome punk band also, these young cats from newer punk bands have much to learn from these rappers, it's kind of offending for some, but that's the truth

  • fuck yeah. the beastie boys released only one punk 7", but that shit's way better than some of the crap we see today labelled as "hardcore punk"

  • hey droogmonkey....wat do u know abt beastieboys? u sux boy!!!

  • this is pretty sick. i think the beastie boys(when they were rap) were just fuckin hilarious

  • I don't get why everyone is arguing about this video, it's wicked...Beastie Boys played punk before most of you were born.

They were punk, then rap, then returned to punk and sort of embraced all types of genres. That's the coolest thing ever!

What's to hate about this, Beastie Boys, and any band can play, live, do whatever they want, they're one of the only bands to actually embrace that.

  • Bad ass Minor Threat cover! Should of stayed punk...

But if they prefer rap then they can do that.

  • i wished thay were still punk

  • beastie boys

    at there best

    raw

  • beaste boys started out as a hardcore punk band, idiots.

  • Yes. Their drummer had tits, too.

  • aglio e olio?, I don't care what longlivethelame2 says he fucking sucks now, commercial? I haven't heard any of their new tracks on the radio, old stuff yeah, maybe you just don't like them and don't know how to say it, its not commercial though pal

  • i LUV shakes spear he licked my balls so sweet

  • now there better (my opinion)

  • Future generations will wonder how prehistoric primitive man managed to return to 2008. The words are shouted well but is is doubtful they will go down in history like the words of Shakespear. For those of you who haven't heard of Shakespear I would hasten to say he didn't shake a spear.

  • they punk album agiloeo thing was awesome

  • You can't control evolution and just because this music was fantastic it doesn't mean that their new stuff isn't great too.

    Stop living in the past.

  • what year is this

  • i don't care what anyone says, these guys fucking suck now.

Fuck them and their commercial rap garbage.

  • who's commercial, i read about U on this! fuckin hippo!!!

  • hey atleast they arent like most nigger rap talking about girls money chains and all that shit.

  • nigger rap? u must not listen to much nusic because there are amazing underground rappers that dont sing about that. but there lyrics are amazinz. but u prolly dont know shit about underground

  • Oh yeah, you're so cool...do you really think you're the only one who knows about DefJux and such?

  • Lol hear there albums dude. Crazy Gangsta rap man... Beastie Boys obviously were hardcore back in the day and just chose a diffrent path. lol.

  • dude whatever happened to the old school bestie boy punk band?

    either or theyre still good

  • wow theyre brilliant

  • they should go back to this

  • they have been around since '79..The Young Aboriginies was their first band.. they were nominated for the RRHOF.. bad ass mother fuckers

  • apreciate the fucking music you losers haha its the beastie boys cmon listen dont argue about what there genre is like cmon what are you 5?

  • Good cover. =)

  • What a fucking idiot. The Beastie Boys started out as a hardcore band from NYC and released two hc-punk albums before becoming a hip-hop group. And hardcore punk is an offshoot of punk rock, therefore it is a style of punk.

    Retard.

  • The song is called "Screaming at A Wall" not "Screaming at THE Wall". And, Breaking Glass 77, you are an dimwit who has no education on the history of punk rock.

  • Leave Youtube.

    Immediately.

  • You do realize the beastie boys were originally a hardcore punk band and hey opened for bands like he bad brains and reagan youth

  • Yes, "originally". Not now.

  • Slayer Covers A Bunch Of Minor Threat Shit and they aren't hardcore punk.

  • Breaking Glass 77, you are an dimwit who has no education on the history of punk rock.

  • Okay, you tell me all about the history of punk rock...by the way, I GREW UP in D.C and have seen Minor Threat play, along with every other incarnation of Ian, Jeff, Brian, Lyle and Steve and every other musician that was part of the harD.C.ore scene, so please, spare me.

  • seriously??? Being a punk from that era, sure we loved to use labels like "hardcore"..heck, I was LVHC...but in the end we were punks. The labels today are for the kids of today...they need a label every time a band uses strums a chord a different way. Hardcore was punk...I don't ever remember worrying so much about the labels....its like worrying about being a blood or a crip...they're just labels

  • oh, and I concur with herndonhornet 77....you need to brush up on your punk history a bit. The first time I saw the Beastie Boys was with Fishbone...Fishbone was headlining and the Beastie Boys were still doing their quasi-punk rap stuff that lead them to hooking up with Run DMC. They were definitely punk though, and had strong roots in that scene far before they did rap.

  • Beasties are awesome when they rep NYHC....

  • uh dont u mean dc?

  • I know MT are DCHC...I just like the BB's NYHC sound...it's an old school vibe I get.

  • I saw them live in 92, when Rollins Band and Cypress Hill opened for them. They played Salad Days at that show, and a couple from Sly and the Family Stone.

It was also Mike's Birthday so they threw a huge cake on him. The best show I've ever seen.

16 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday...

  • oh haha i didn't realize that. i was thinking he's pretty damn fast at changing hats.

  • They're from different performances. It's just all edited together.

  • how does he keep on changing hats??

  • ya, i don't get that either

  • awesome

  • weak

  • Beastie Boys pay tribute to Minor Threat...very sweet.

  • ohhh shit!!! this video is fucking dope!!

  • exelnte tema

  • your fucking scum.

  • oh LOOK, they play this song so well for their age. What are these egg salad sandwithes like 56?

  • early 40s, but when this was recorded they were in their late 20's.

  • the guys from minor threat were younger then that when they recorded the original version.

not to metion it's way better.

  • OMFG, I have always like the beastie boys for their old rap, and I have always liked minor threat for their hardcore punk. This is like a dream marriage! I have so much more respect for the beastie boys now!

  • you know they used to be a hardcore band right?

  • not until I watched this.

  • yeah they were kinda mediocre because they were so young but still i find it cool that their roots are in hardcore even if they deny that : /

  • the Beastie Boys never denied that they started out as a hardcore band. ever.

  • soul train

    asked where they started

they said weve always started as a rap group

    which is bull

  • yea it is bull.

    1. they are in the rock and roll hall of fame

    2. kerry king (slayer) did no sleep till solo

    3. they are way to kick ass to be concidered as queer ass rap....

  • That's...really stupid.

  • They play this song well...

  • i dont give a shit i think this is a great fuckin cover not many bands can pull of a minor threat cover

  • They did it excellent!

  • "...my brothers are punk..."

    you're both idiots.

  • who the fuck brought you in this conversation?

  • im black, but i like my punk, no not mcr, i like this stuff, black flag(nu pun intended), bad brains, minor threat, fugazi
