@Onemanband77 I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think one can copyright a rhythm pattern, or a chord progression. Otherwise there would be a heckuva lot of drummers and pop/rock musicians tied up in court. I believe melodies and lyrics are what would be copyrighted in a song. Also, my Roland mc-303 manual gives the owner permission to use their pre-sets. With the mc-303 since it is multi-timbral(many different instrument sounds) there are melodic elements to their presets. Hope that helps.
