This looks really good as far as what it advertises. But my thinking is if we understood the cross we wouldn't need it. The cross exposed the heart of God towards us (willing to absorb our violence) and our heart towards God (wanting to get rid of Him to the point that we'd murder Him). And He knows this about us... and loves us. If we grasped that, and accepted His acceptance of us... I don't believe we'd need anything else. Just my thought.....
Scripture is clear in its declaration of Christ's sinlessness (i.e. 1 Peter 2:22); of Christ becoming man (i.e. Philippians 2:5-11); Christ being a sacrifice for sin (i.e. John 1:29; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 7:27; 10:10, 12, 18); of Christ being the sinner's substitute (i.e. Romans 5:8). it seems "Christ was made sin" brings together all the elements of the above paragraph and more.
Honestly, it's hard for me to accept that there is a God. I feel like he won't love me because I am a lesbian, because I am a self-harmer, because sometimes I do starve myself. I feel like God judges people harshly from what I learned in church as a child. I feel like I've fucked up too much to ever be okay in God's eyes again.
@TaoretaTenshi You know sometimes God gives us over to the lusts of our flesh and allows people around us to hurt us and ruin our lives, just read the book of Job. But ive learnt that metal has to be refined in the fires of affliction. In the bible it's referred to as being sevened, man is six, flesh, made of the dust (check out the carbon atom 666) retrobate gold is no good, it is put through the fire seven times until it is pure, So if you hate the things you do and truly believe in God, rest!
@TaoretaTenshi I didn't see anyone respond to you, so I feel like I need to. My daughter could have written what you wrote, and I will tell you what I told her. If you look at Jesus' life, you'll notice that He was ALWAYS gentle and kind to ANYONE who came to Him for mercy (prostitutes, adulterers, demon possessed, tax collectors, etc.). THE ONLY people He was harsh with were ones who claimed to have it all together, having their own righteousness and not seeing the need for Him. He loves you!
@TaoretaTenshi what if I told u that no matter what u've done, He still loves and accepts you? what if i told u that if u truly believed that, your life would never be the same again? hugs sis!
@TaoretaTenshi I don't know you, but your post breaks my heart, especially the last thing you said. God loves you and anyone who tells you otherwise is straight up LYING to you! If you only knew what God REALLY thinks about you...it's greater and higher than what you even think about yourself.
All of the books coming out these days are not based on the truth of scripture, they quote everyone from shakespeare to aleister crowley, they are new age and leading many astray. Fiery trials are a christians life as that is what it takes to refine the metal but all we see is people teaching you should be rich and take risks and saying your life is bad because you don't have faith, well that is the devil speaking if you read about the temptation of Jesus you will see that.
What if I told them if they where not prepared to forsake all that they could not be my disciple, What if I told them if they didn't take up their daily cross and die to self they could not be my disciple, What if I told them if they where not prepared to be hated for my sake they could not be my disciple, What if I told them that God hated Esau and loved Jacob,What if I told them that we are clay in the hands of the potter, What if I told them about vessels of wrath and mercy.
@jmarjoram Yes the new covenant, Now the law is written on your heart so that you do it and all the traditions are nailed to the cross. God has taken to himself a gentile bride like the story of Ruth.
LOVE this! The music and graphics are AWESOME; the VOICE and HEART behind the voice are AMAZING and TRUSTWORTHY! Looking forward to getting this new resource from Truefaced in my hot little hands...
"What if they knew that the basis of our friendship was not based on how little they sin but on how much they let me love them" That...is mind blowing, beautiful truth.
