This scene is like a beautiful dance. It's so good I can't handle it. I love when he throws the smoke bombs and they make figure eights before they exploding. Beautiful and Brilliant scene!!!
@bryanvsmith Of Course! They are the "sinner men" - they try to be JUDGE , jury and executioner. What is funniest, is that thomas Crown...originally DONATED the painting in the first place!
Many of You should think of Two Relevant Paintings...with this story. Most of You would enjoy the SYMBLOISM of SUBSTANCE..to this CLIP. The GARDEN of EDEN scene (painted over the Fig Tree) - in the SISTINE CHAPEL - by Michelangelo. The second painting is MELANCHOLIA I by Albert Durher. 1514 a.d. GRACE TO THE CAPSTONE. Magic Squares of Ezekiel 34. Amen.
Good Movie, Brilliant Ending. In a Happier time before Sept. 11th and Endless Wars!!!
The best part of the Movie is that the Female Star of the Original Thomas Crowne Affair with Steve McQueen is his Psychiatrist in this flick....Brilliant. The One and Only Faye Dunaway.
To achieve 'special' status does not require longevity. Look at James Dean, for just one example. And as for Brosnan attempting to play Bond, personally I found him way too smooth. Connery provides the grit in the man's character. Certainly Brosnan was not helped by poor scripts/dialogue in the latter Bond movies.
A considered response Mr Lunitunz, but I must say that for me Brosnan's acting is very one-dimensional. Certainly as far as Thomas Crown is concerned he doesn't have the charisma of Steve McQueen. And as for Bond, well come on - Connery IS Bond...!
@markdy13 I disagree. McQueen died too young to be anything special. As for Connery, Connery's great but Pierce Brosnan is/was the closest we'll ever get to having Cary Grant play Bond. Of course, film is art, and art is subjective, so you're entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to respectfully disagree.

What a load of shite. What were they thinking of...? Trying to re-make an absolute classic, which is what the original is. Pierce Brosnan, do me a favour please... Couldn't cut it as Bond, and certainly can't cut it as Thomas Crown. But there again, very tough acts to follow, Connery and McQueen. Best advice is, don't try... Stick to Remington Steele Pierce.
@markdy13 Brosnan did very well at both, he is my personal favourite as Bond and reviewers said that this remake actually managed the impossible task of being better than the original. Pierce's acting abilities extended far and beyond Remington Steele.
@shaworld of course!!!! But wouldn't two well dressed recreational criminals such as ourselves find themselves sticking out in the crowd at wal mart lol.
A lot of ppl. don't understand this scene actually, wat he has very eloquently tried to do here is make a video version of mc escher's convex, and concave, and relativity. It's like a tribute to mc escher. a perfect artistic tribute in the end to the master by a master.
My favorite scene is the "failed" robbery. This elderly proctor, probably a grandfather, noticed the shadow of the rotor blades. All you see is the telescoping of the stun baton....
The next scene has shouting and then the thieves running.
"Watch out Mr. Crown!" (as he shoves Crown aside for safety
en las primeras escenas pasan muchas cosas fuera de la realidad de la fisica por ejemplo como cabe una pintura con marco interno en un maletin ???????

There was a scene where he was getting fitted for a suit in his office. It looked like the same beige suit he wore when he got rid of the overcoat.
Maybe...he knew Catherine Banning would be investigating. So the plan wasn't to steal the painting but to get her to steal her heart.
