You can say that about any immigrant in history. In my family we are multiracial/multicultural, so we each had one Arabic name and one...secular for lack of a better term. Nobody got named after someone else in particular in either language. Some of us are are devout Muslims some are mild, some are agnostic and some are Christian. The world still moves on its course.

I think it is wrong to do it...but the reason why is because the spelling is really difficult for a nonarabic speaking person...in the arabic language there are 7 letters that are not found in English and cannot be properly pronounced. Others change their names to escape stereotyping...i respect the right of changing a name but personally dont favor it...hope that clears stuff up...:)

I'm Scottish + can't even be understood by automated phonelines developed to understand an English accent - a certain middle class Southern English accent. A family friend changed his name from the Irish to English version for a political career which didn't ring true 4 me, so I can understand your opinion.
