I spent the early years of my life on this street. My grandfather, who worked for ATSF for a while would take me down the street to watch the El Segundo turn go by. During these walks, he would tell me of his life and the road and it's there that I, too, fell in love with the railroad. I currently work for the UP and have worked on these units. I guess, I've come full circle. thanks for posting this.
This wig wam is at least 50 years old. I know this bc this the street where I used to live on. My grandfather would take me down to see this local go pass and would tell me stories of his day with the Santa Fe. it was there I fell in love with trains that has lasted over a span of fifty years
I remember in the 1980's growing up in SO CAL some of the Wig Wags in Sante Fe Springs and Whittier area were on old branch lines and they looked ancient then and that was 30 years ago.

tftrainman 1 year ago
the horn on 2702 sounds like one of the chimes is out..which is kinda wierd since it's a brand new engine.
KSE828 1 year ago
2728 got the same type of horn.

It looks so small up there! Those wig wags are suprisingly huge though when they're viewed up close. Pretty darn loud too if the bell works properly.
5*
