  • i love her curly hair!!!

  • congratilations del toro, i still don't know why you don't have an oscar of best director...

  • wow i wanna see this so bad the only thing is i get nightmares easily hehe - oh well :)

  • The girl, Ivana, who plays Ofelia is so pretty with her hair all curly. She has such a soothing and sweet voice too, whether she's speaking in Spanish or English.

  • naja the movie was not the best fantasy movie

  • the faun looks so stupid without the lighting lol

  • great movie

  • this movie reminded me of hell boy

  • @XxkloudxX354 Maybe because the people behind the special FX is responsible for the second Hellboy movie?

  • Del Toro should totally direct the Warcraft movie that I've heard is in production...his skills with visuals and creature design are top notch! :D

  • Doug Jones does a great job in Pan's Labyrinth and his make-up/costumes are all amazing in every show he does. He does have a new independent film out, however, called my name is jerry where he wears NO makeup at all. The first time he has acted like that -- check it out and see what you think for yourself. i love him in it!

  • pan's labyrinth is a great movie and the graffics are awesome

  • One of my favorite movies!<3 it!

  • the movie yes is set in Spain, and most of the characters are Spanish but the director is Mexican.

  • and the actors are spanish

  • Fabulous, i love Guillermo del Toro, brilliant video xx T

  • Wow.

  • I liked this Movie and The Orphan

    nice Movies

  • @Aznboyv32 exactly what i was thinking. making it tear more =S then he drinks alcohol... very bright idea

  • wtf?

  • @rafael28 lolz

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 Correct the spaniards came to mexico and they adopted the language from there.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 Guillermo is a MEXICAN director. Pan's Labyrinth was funded by a MEXICAN, SPANISH, and AMERICAN production companies distributed by a MEXICAN distributor, Esperanto Films, and the story takes place in SPAIN. There you go.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 It's Italian actually

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 Tio, only someone who is ignorant would confuse us with Mexicans.

For whoever made the comment: Castillian is not the same language spoken in central/south america and the Caribbean. What they speak is a slang influenced by American English and their own indigenous languages.

There. Does that help you understand?

    Gilipollas

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 It's a Mexican movie, made by Guillermo del Toro, who is Mexican not Spanish get over it. Also Children of Men was made by Alfonso Cuaron, who is Mexican. 2 of the best films this decade are from Mexicans.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 i swear you're retarded... trying to sound smart

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 you dont have to be so rude about it. its a simple mistake people make. im 13 and white and i can speak mostly spanish and i still make mistakes like that. ive even been to mexico twice. so you dont have to get all personel about it. you need to cool your beans.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100

you know del toro is mexican, right? also the entire production company is mexican.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 ......are you a dee-dee-dee?

  • Loved this movie!

  • im soo glad he's directing the hobbit movies!

with the help of peter jackson of course :P

  • whats the difference between visual effects and special effects?

  • Special effects describes all effects that are in movies or TV. It could be makeup, mechanical, or digital. Visual effects almost always refers to effects involving merging reality with digital elements.

  • Visual is when you physically apply makeup to a person

Special effects is when you use a computer to create the effect

  • It's crazy how much wrong information is written and actually believed...... All three of you are totally wrong.

I have been a "Special Effects Makeup Artist" for over twenty years...All three (ShayXReneeXSidle, TheMiniFigMaster, FuriousArts.) are wrong, but FuriousArts wins as being so completely off the mark that I can hardly believe what he wrote..

A lesson to all...Stop trying to educate others when you yourself are uneducated on an given subject...

  • Visual effects can range to include every sort of visual aesthetic: hair, makeup, prosthetics, props, etc. Special effects are visual tricks such as CGI(computer generated images) effects and other effects that distort the viewer's perception and what not.

    Hope that helps.

  • i want to work on prosthetics when im older. iv already bought the stuff to start practising lol. working on things like this is my dream

  • where can you find this on the DVD? I'm doing a paper on it for school, and i can't find this stuff. Is it only on the two disk?

  • I also luv hellboy and LOTR. Pans labyrnth owns.

  • im not surprised the directer or writer made this movie. Its awesome like his other ones! :)

  • best spanish moive i ever seen

  • I was lucky enough to get to meet the actor who played The Pale Man and The Faun at Crypticon this past weekend. His name is Doug Jones and he has to be the nicest, coolest guy on the planet - he talked to me for 18 minutes, and let me film the whole thing! How cool is that?

  • I think that keeping it Spanish makes the movie sound more cool and mysterious because I don't understand a word of Spanish anyways. Job well done, Guillermo!

  • why is it that most of the US people think that English is the only language on earth?

  • because he's mexican you fool...

  • Ignorant All-American idiot!

  • I have it on blu-ray yay! :b

  • what is the diferents? i cant tell

  • umm...if you have a 1080p HD tv and do a dvd upscaled version of pans vs blu-ray of it.......you can tell lol

  • the movie is not in english...what's the language?

  • In spanish

  • es español inculta!!!!!!!!!

    is spanish...

  • How did they create the really gory, physically involved scenes, like smashing the guy's nose flat with a bottle, or Mercedes actually giving the captain that mouth scar? They looked so real, and I just want to know how they were done.

  • ya creepy bastard shes like 12

  • ahaha I never thought I would EVER hear someone say "Nasty" and "Fairies" in the same sentence before xD xD xD

  • so interesting movie...i like the effect

  • "little dirty monkeys) huh.

  • he TOTALLY meant what you're thinking. -_-

  • did u people c the part when she eats the grape.

  • Very good movie.

  • this movie looks so cool

  • pan and that white guy are scary asssed mofos

  • El laberinto del fauno is hands down one of the best movies EVER made! I ♥ Guillermo del Toro!

  • Am I a total crackhead if I think the faun is attractive ^^

  • i'm guilty of that too. Fauno <3

  • @ladyfeathertail No! Because I do too!

  • @ladyfeathertail i thought so too! lol he is soo mesmerizing, and his language is not the typical spanish, it all melds together to make him seem so cool.

  • @ladyfeathertail Draenei look like Fauns.

  • @ladyfeathertail IKR he is so cool.... The faun IS hot... LOL

  • that mans a genius

    crazy imagination

  • one of the best movies ever!!

  • are you on drugs?

  • No but I think that child was totally tripping.

  • Best fake I've ever seen on film. It is a Fairytale, after all....

  • The film that i've dreamt of!

  • You know what bugged me the most about th epart when she eats the grape? I remember getting real pissed and saying, "If you're gonna break the rules, why a GRAPE? There's A JUICY STEAK RIGHT THERE!!" xD

  • I'm thinking a grape (and not steak) might be to link it to the Persephone myth regarding eating some fruit in the underworld. But yeah, I concur with your whole hung for a sheep as a lamb reasoning.

  • At least in the movie, her reasoning was that no one would notice a grape. But they would probably notice an entire steak missing

  • it was massive juicy graps, to be fair...

  • they were werent they. shes lucky they can fit in her mouth lol.and soodle ur right i started to laugh alot when u put they would notice the steak was missing

  • they were werent they. shes lucky they can fit in her mouth lol.and soodle ur right i started to laugh alot when u put they would notice the steak was missing

  • i HAVE to see this movie!!!

  • you really have to its a good movie really good and sad

  • captain vidal is the greatest villain i have ever seen. him and hannibal lecter are the best ones there are. too bad sergi lopez went unapreciated in america for his role...

  • i got this movie for christmas

all my friends said it was awesome

    IT WAS!!

  • lol ''fewíes''

  • aww how cute is the litlle girl who plays ofelia!

  • shes babezilla

  • awesome

  • cam somebody post the full movie????

  • the movie deserves to be seen in the dvd format. the crappy resolution will just cheapen it.

  • yeah i know--ive seen it before, but i have absolutely no way of getting my hands on the dvd, so if someone could post it, though it wouldnt do it any justice, i would appreciate it...

  • what didnt you like about it?

    i thought it was perfect

  • ...personally i would have liked to see more of the "fantasy" world than the "real" world...kinda like a twisted alice in wonderland. essentially there were only 2 tasks that took place in the fantasy world & if u add up time in the film that we see the fantasy world it isnt much at all. it left me feeling like alittle empty...

    but thats just my opinion...

  • you have to take for what it is man

  • I like labyrinth and the never ending story, but there is no way you can compare them, this is a dark fairy tale, but not only that, this is the beggining of a fairy tale, this movie shows how leyends and fairy tales are born, that is what I think.

  • glad to know everyone has written good about this movie ...I watched it last night and liked it very much too and I am an adult ! Congratulations to the director and all Spanish movie makers now I have a very good opinion about Spanish movies and shall watch more if I get a chance

  • Well... i don't know if it's actually a child- friendly movie... remember the boy whose head was crack opened by being beaten with the bottom of a wine bottle? And that all being shown? ^^

  • Great movie! I finally watched it last night. You should see the movie. Even my boyfriend, that hates subtitled movies watched it. I was sorta shocked that it wasn't a kids movie. I figured that out in the face bashing scene. :P~~

  • This was a really well-made movie. I especially liked the effect that came with the movie's dialogue being in Spanish. It adds to the feeling and makes it realistic.

  • Not for kids, no. I stil think they could've made more out of it. To me it just seemed like a short-story, or something. But the skinny man has got to be one of the creepiest movie monsters ever. Damn, when he's chasing after the girl.. :P

  • It's late at night my neighbors are asleep and I'm screaming, "Run Ofelia, Holy Sh*t you gotta get the hell outta there, OMG OMG OMG! DRAW THE FREAKING DOOR ALREADY!!!"

  • wth? very funny LOL

  • Omg, same. I was so scared for her, lol.

  • haha me and my mom were sitting in our living room at like 1 in the morning screaming DON'T EAT THE GRAPE!!! RUNNNNNN!!!! so funny!

  • The ONE THING he told you NOT TO DO, Ofelia! :D

  • lol.. the creepiest movie ever is Captain Vidal....nasty...

  • awesome, check out my haunted house

  • well i haven't seen it yet, but it looks FANTASTIC!!!!!!!, i think you should see :)

  • Well, it's said that It took five hours for Doug Jones to get into The Pale Man costume and that this movie received 22 minutes of applause at the Cannes Film Festival...god damnit i need to see this movie >.<

  • You should watch it NOW! It's really good! Just don't try watching it with your 7 years old cousin like I did!lol Yeah my bad...but I paused it in time so I don't think he was traumatized!lol

This is NOT for kids! But I loved it!

  • yeah I watched this thinking it was for kids and expected nothing nasty enough to give you that wierd taste in your mouth, yeah...I was wrong.

  • I've been meaning to see this film for ages!, its really made me want to see it now, I think I'll rent it later.

  • Oh my God... wonderful... wonderful...

  • I've seen this artfilm and it was perfect. oh oh always perfect. *whaaaaaaaaaat?*

  • I watched it, wasn't exactly gory to me.
