Maybe throw in the vastly overrated Lawyer Milloy (slow as sap flowing uphill on a winter's eve). That's it. The rest of that team was trash. I had the ranked dead last on a power poll I did prior to the start of the season. Course, that was with Bledsoe...had Bledsoe remained in there, they may have lived up to that.

Back when the AFC was the doormat by the NFC. NFC teams in conference title games were the real Super Bowl back in the days from 1984-1997

Couldn't afford Deion? WTF are you talking about? How can the DeBarotolo corporation, a multi-billion dollar corporation, not AFFORD a few million for Deion? Give me a break. The issue with Deion is they had reportedly put in a controversial "option" clause in his contract. Didn't matter, as they couldn't fit him under the cap for 1995, anyway. But "afford" has nothing to do with anything.

DeBartolo did a lot of shady things. He was giving his players illegal bonuses back in the 80's. The Niners of the 80's and 90's were the most corrupt organization in NFL history.

The epitome of that is when Steve Wallace was cut in 96, signed with the Eagles, sucked for them in preseason, and then played well with the Niners when the re-signed him at the start of the season at a lower price. I think that Steve intentionally played like that.
