  • I followed your instructions and polishing the feed ramp seems to have done the trick: no jams so far. THANK YOU for the excellent and useful information.

  • I did this and it still jams every round. I'm using cheap ass golden remington bullets 11.99 for a brick of 500. Probably why.

  • is your rifle left handed or is the image mirrored, cause mine is a right handed bolt and i thought it only came right handed

  • Unbelievable, I sure hope that this works for me, because I just picked up mine (795) & headed to the range right after. I got to say, that I have had, a very bad experience as it would literally jam every other & in some cases every round. Nasty stove pipes, failing to feed the next round properly causing an ejection problem. At times even the spent shells would be caught in the middle of mag & the bolt making it super hard to release it. I have 3 magazines, used 2 different kinds of ammo

  • @irashidi308 Did you clean the rifle before taking it out? Also, were you using high velocity ammo?

  • u think i could do that with my modle 60 22

  • Will polishing the feed ramp on a modle 60 work too, mine keeps jamming, and misfireing

  • Great video and fix to a problem I was having. Did this to my 795 last week, went shooting yesterday and could not believe it, no jams or FTF. My feeding ramp had a rough/sharp edge, I can't believe I did not notice when I cleaned gun. I always liked the 795,the accuracy is crazy but the FTF issue was driving me nuts. After the fix it truly is one of my favorite .22s Thanks again...Good job!!!!

  • Thanks for the video. Out of the box our 795 has always jammed. I'll give it a shot and let you know. Thanks

  • @djs694 Mine did too. I did not do all the steps in the video like polishing the bolt and stuff. I just polished the feed ramp for maybe a minute or so. Did the trick. It's been about four months and I shoot about 2000 rounds a month, not one failure.

  • I should also mention, I used the notorious remington value pack gold ammo which everyone else claims is the culprit for failures. It feed every round! Not one problem. I can't overemphasize the importance of polishing the feed ramp. Thanks again for putting the word out there.

  • I bought a 795 without the stainless barrel last week and it would FTF constantly so I quit after about 100 rounds. Saw your video and all I did was polish the feed ramp. Tested it today with about 100 rounds lightly oiled. Then I even over oiled the weapon and fired another 600 rounds. NOT ONE FAILURE! Best advice ever. Thank you so much. Wish Marlin would take the two extra minutes to polish it at the factory. I should mention, I didnt polish anything else. Just the feed ramp.

  • I have a Marlin 795 without the stainless steel barrel and am having the exact same problem you were having. It would stove piped or the ammo wouldn't feed or eject properly. It would just get jammed up brand new out of the box. Looking forward to trying this. Thanks for the info.

  • I have ht same scope and david u get the rings wih the scope whenu buy it

  • Where did you get the rings for the scope I have looked at dick sporting goods and I couldn't find any the fit the grooved receiver in the Manuel it said that it is a handle tip-off-type 22 scope base haven't been able to find any for my marlin 795 where did you get your or did they come with the scope?

  • I had the same problem but that was because I was using Rem thunderbolts, DOH! As for taking it apart, I never had to do that. Btw, this gun loves Winchester Super X, Winchester Wildcats, and RWS! RWS works like a charm every time, I shot 500 rounds of it without a single FTF or FTE! Out of a box of 500 wildcats only 3 FTF! and no FTE! On winchester Super X 1 misfire out of 350 rounds! I will be testing Federals soon!

  • Comment removed

  • Just have to say that this gun may not actually be unloaded... I realize it *probably* was unloaded, but since the bolt was cycled with a magazine inserted into the action, it is possible a fresh round was stripped off and placed into the chamber. Yeah, yeah, we know it is unloaded, but this is YouTube and full of newbies who might not know... always remove the magazine first, then slide the bolt back and double check there are not rounds inside the chamber.

  • @fprintf

Dude he showed us the empty mag where he had even cleaned it.

    Pay attention.

  • Where did you get the left handed version from?

  • @whooah81 He must have somehow reversed the video. Maybe it's recorded off a mirror? If you look at the part where he shows the Dremmel tool, the spelling that's shown is reversed as well.

  • great vid

  • hey thx this helps for my tear down

  • i have that exact gun. and it jams up more than i think it should. i might try to do wut u did.

  • Strange, I have the regular 795 and when first brought out, after an initial clean and lube, went through 140 rounds and didn't have a single hiccup.

  • great vid
