@7megahertz Agreed, but my personal reason for doing it is actually not to put down the Atari (had one myself and loved it), but because I am still quite impressed by the fact that only 5 years after this new technology had improved as much as it had.
And the Colecovision still impresses me to this day.

Damn! They really did a much better job with Gyruss than I thought that they would've. This is the first time I've seen the 2600 version and I am impressed! I have to pick this up!!!!
Have to admit that this - though impressive - proved the superiority of the Colecovision.
