It aint no SECRET the U.S. is trying to rule the world. Any nation or any person that opposes this plan of domination gets portrayed by the U.S. as the bad guy. "I feel like im taking crazy pills" lol .... dont people get it?
Stone's no artist but a propagandist. There's no art in simply telling people what to believe in a story less subtle than a porn film. Sure, the guy's made a few good movies but art asks questions not dictates answers. He must get it from his fascist dictator heroes. But why make a film when shouting his stupid opinions via megaphone is just as subtle. Hell at least Cameron knew enough to change the "Indian" or "Iraqi" to "Na'vi" & paint them blue before making his ultra-leftist propaganda film
It would. And the day Stone makes an actual documentary instead of a mockumentary where he's already determined in advance what the conclusion is going to be and edits it accordingly, maybe I'll be interested in what he has to say.
@mjr256 avatar did portray the white man will help you tale you are correct about that. it also portrayed corporations will fuck you over tale as well.
@mjr256 "(Stone) must get it from his fascist dictator heroes"
The fascists in South America are not the left-wing leaders Stone profiles in the film. The fascists in South America were leaders supported by the United States for decades. People like Augusto Pinochet (put in power by a CIA-inspired coups) or Alfredo Stroessner of Paraguay, beneficiary of Operation Condor. Both men killed & tortured 1000s. You see, fascism is an inherently right-wing political philosophy.
Nah, I'm sure they're swell guys, because as everyone knows, only one side of a conflict can contain the fascist dictators and once we've established which side, the side fighting them must by default be righteous. Like in gang wars.
Omg, this guy has a serious problem making any coherent point. How does he plan to get other people see his point when he rambles around like this? I had a really hard time to follow him and if it would not have been for books I read about this very topic I probably wouldn't have understood a word of what he was saying..
However I look forward to the movie. And I think people should see it. What happened and still happens in Latin America is not known well enough.
Hugo Chavez is a tin-pot dictator of the old-school. Even if his political enemies are deplorable, that does not make Chavez's actions any more defensible. He has underminded election results where his supporters have lost, broken contracts, devalued his currency, weakened civil society, tries to destabilize his neighbors, and has arrested opponents and shut down opposition media. All of the populist measures he has inacted cannot overcome these deficits of leadership and credibility.
@clownpenisfart U are making assumptions. Hugo Chavez is trying to take his country back from a very powefull elite of rich ppl that have dominated Venezuela for a very long time. Whether or whether not any of the things u accuse him for where his doing or more sabotage or otherwise caused by foul play nobody can really tell.
THIS issue, cenk??? how about on *every* issue? healthcare, financial reform, wars... whether domestic or foreign, obama has leaned (to put it mildly) right-wing on every issue...
this wouldn't be an exception, cenk... it would be more surprising if he leaned left-wing on any issue.
Does anyone really give a shit about Maria Conchita Alonso? People should know about her brother though, the guy fled Venezuela after over 100 right-wing paramilitaries were found in his ranch ready to carry out terrorist attacks. Now he rants from Miami calling for the invasion of the country.
Cenk does right to take a fact-free, golly-gee approach to his anti-Chavista routine. Lame interview technique, but smart saving-face wise.
Weisbrot could've fucked him up. Dude's got a Chomsky-like command of Latin-Am related facts.
Maria Conchita Alonso...wtf.
For a really good VZLA-related discussion--good, bad, ugly--with Weisbrot, look up the fairly recent interview on Doug Henwood's 'Behind the News' program on the Pacifica network.
the us has been killing secretly so many people in those countries for decades in order to keep gas oil and other resources. this indepentancy move is not really suprising to call it evil is to say the colonies are evil and the king of britan is awesomeness. you should look to such things in perspective and use comon sense. if chaves is supporting education to low income people they will eventually gett a grade/start a buisness and so on and so forth then the suppresion of the upperclas will end
@tqrules My god you sooo wrong. I live in Venezuela and Chavez is part of US interests. He has double speech. He takes privete companies from owners, and in a few months they don´t produce any goods. His people buy food that is due in a short period of time, they get a discount and they keep it. We have found 150 thousand of tons of food that is not longer good for consumption. Education has decreased in quality, inflation is aprox 30% per year, and crime is really high. This is shit. Believe m
@astruggia HAHAHA, I've talked to people in Venezuela who said poor people live way better under chavez. Chavez being in US interests? really? if that's the case why is the media demonizing him? Chavez kicked US coorporation out of Venezuela thus not allowing the US to control Venezuela's oil
...what have you seen and where? When did you go to Venezuela and how long did you stay there?

The difference between Venezula and America, is that Vez bail outs the poor in its country and America bails out the rich!

in other countries it does not seem that their media attack leaders of other countries as much or in such unanimity
