You ARE Snoopy, the coolest little dog on television. Charlie Brown just won't be the same without you.

    Bill Melendez

  • It's so sad that Bill Melendez has passed away.

Charles M. Schulz and Bill Melendez is 1 of my inspirations of drawings I do.

You will be missed, Bill Melendez.

  • You will be missed.

  • respect to you bill and schultz. you have inspired me to be a cartoonist myself. ive also done a drawing in your memory.

    :)

  • God Bless Bill! Rest in peace!

Whenever anyone in my family asks how someone's day went, and the day went kind of bad, the standard response is the Bill Melendez-Snoopy "Bleeeeaaaaaaaaah!"

  • man

i just heard he passed away today

    :(

    on my birthday

    so sad

  • rip

  • He was loved.

  • Wow, did he ever hang in there. But he had to go sometime. Still, I was dreading it, because there are so few people left from that era of animation (the Golden Age, as the 1930s to 1960s are often called). And he was active and out there pretty much up until the end.

    RIP.

  • RIP. BILL MELENDEZ(José Cuauthémoc Meléndez) BORN IN HERMOSILLO SONORA, FROM MEXICO TO THE WORLD, DESCANCE EN PAZ

  • I wouldn't be who I am today without Charles M. Schulz, Lee Mendelson, and Bill Melendez.

  • A man with 70 years of animation experience under his belt has left us. It's fascinating to me how a man who once worked at Disney would go on to become a pioneer in the what was then the new and highly stylized realm of limited-animation. I honestly believe that Melendez had captured the essence of the Peanuts strip in his works. May he be reunited with his old friend Charles Schulz in the Great Beyond.

  • Bill, thanks for your contribution to the entertainment industry. You and Charles Shultz really hit paydirt when you did A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965. I watch that every year, along with the other Peanuts classics like The Great Pumpkin and The Thanksgiving Special. Thanks for the memories, Bill.

  • A true hero. I miss him already, but I am so grateful for his life and work, and for bringing Peanuts to life so perfectly. RIP and rest well, sir.

  • Sept. 2 , 2008 : Bill Melendez passed away .

    1916- 2008.

R.I.P. Bill. Thank you for the great animation and inspiration over the years.
