@bulenterdem1977 The master volume is okay if you want to have preamp distortion, but the creamy distortion that most people really like comes from output tube distortion. The attenuator still lets the output of the amp be cranked a bit for that creamy sound, without deafening the neighbourhood.
hey isonsov, i have a super 60, my clean channel with no play makes a hum, and the other channel the hum is more quiet. Do you have the same problem? The hum is not too high, only a diference to the channels, and when i turn the volume high the noise dont grow. Thanks.
My favorite amp..but I can achieve all your tones without that box you've got sittin' on the top of your amp...all I do is go into the 2nd channel work the gain/volume pots...BALLS-TO-THE-WALL tone !!
the thing about these too - i've had 2 of them - is that they can mimic pretty much any 6L6 tube amp there is. a friend has Alamos, Danelectros, Nationals, etc, and the red knob twin has so many tone adjustments plus the 25 watt switch plus you can take out 2 of the power tubes (inside or outside 2) which knocks the power down to like 15 and 50 watts . these are, imo, THE best value in gig-able tube amps out there. if you see one in a store check it out-
I have one. I love it, even though it weighs a ton. This is a good demo, Thanks Koliok! I traded a Fender Hot Rod DeVille for it. I paid $500 for the DeVille, which I also loved. But the Evil Twin has much more versatility!
Oh and I'm done with Marshalls too! I do own a Peavey Classic 100, which is a nice sounding amp.
Excuse my language, but" "THAT MOTHER FUCKER SOUNDS BAD ASS"! Fed up with marshalls and their harsh raspiness' Now I can see(And hear)duh" why fenders are so popular! Thanks man! am going to Ebay now!
i have a fender super 112 for sale. red knob era, all tube usa made. similar to this amp. some of those red knob circuits are amazing for big clean tones.
that amp is underrated i used to look at these in shops and never thought too play one then i looked this vid up and now i gotta get one lol. killer playing also and that pedal sounds great and what attenuator do you use.
Im buying one of these tomorrow for £250, so around $380! I thought that was pretty good price but this demo swung it for me, that clean tone is amazing! Great playing dude! :)
Thats an awesome deal. I own one of these i purchased for around 500 in ok condition, needed new tubes, and some major cleaning work. I like the amp, but its a heavy beast. I personally prefer my deville 2x12, but this amp still has a sweet meaty vintage sound.
I'm buying this amp from a guy tomorrow, but a snakeskin version... The clean is just amazing! I can never get over how good Fender's Tube Clean sounds... How does the amp's actual drive/distortion sound?
great vid. really trying to get into jazz, can you tell me in a round about way what it is you are playing in the first half? or is that a rubbish question?
Its a bit hard to answer here, but in general, I was playing some A pentatonic, A mixolydian with approach notes inside, than some two- five- one progressions.
But if you want to get in to jazz, probably would be best if get yourself some theory books and take some lessons, there is also a lot of useful stuff in Youtube.
Nice playing, good sound. I will try your EQ setting on my "the twin" for jazz. Also like the Brownie pedal. I can't believe it sounds so good and it's not too pricy. I'm considering buying one.
Sweet jazz tone at the start- I have rarely heard a LP sound that good for jazz. Beautiful playing too.

if an amp has a master volume knob, can you do the same thing with it as you do with an attenuator?

Under-rated amp, for sure. Those red knob Fenders (Including the Super 112, 60 and 112) all had fantastic clean tones.

when you turn the distortion pedal on, I noticed you pushed in one of the knobs, is that a "bright" control?
