  • Bobby Womack i absolutely amazing here

  • Shit life feels like this tune. Sad but no one dislike's

  • Such a beautiful song...

  • That's intense.

  • While listening, I was like "All this song needs now is a climax with huge drums and everything". Then the song ended and I was like "Actually, nope".

  • Perfect.

  • 2:26 that pilot is pretty lucky

  • I have seen'em in paris and bobby did this, bobby and a moog doing background notes. All the audience was astonished, in religious silence... shocked me so much....

  • chevere is video is exelent

  • Dope song, dope video mesh real well

  • This has nothing to do with the gorillaz story D:

  • A close friend of mine died today, this song was the very first thing that started playing in my head. I'm 15, so was he... Requiescat in pace.

  • Wow... just... wow... that was truly astonishing. Possibly the greatest music video ever made.

  • Why were they throwing the choppers off of the carrier..? :/

  • @Alvsyn they were trash. that's the only way they could make sure no other countries would get ahold of the technologywhen they got rid of them

  • this is breath taking

  • una gran canción

  • Why are they pushing helis overboard?

  • @krqkan So a Cessna 0-1 Birdog could land on the deck carrying a Major of the South Vietnamese army, his wife and five children. There was no deck room because of all the Bell Hueys on board which had just evacuated civilians from Saigon, Vietnam, so the Admiral of the ship (who sent his heart out to the Major and his family) ordered flight deck staff to 'clear decks' so the Cessna could land. $10 million dollars worth of helicopters were cast into the sea.

  • @Studiolitefire ah, sweet thx m8 :D

  • "visual video" means that this video is coming when they have a live concert right?

  • @SnowboardFranz7 they played this video at past concerts, if that's what you're asking.

  • I could listen to this song over and over again, thinking of the sacrifices that so many great men and women have made in the distant past. The only thing we can do is remember those who fought and gave their lives to defend this great nation.

  • This is the best song, they ever did I'll love this song and group forever viva siempre♥

  • How the hell did they get this footage?

  • life is precious and there will always be times where you are made to do things against your will.

Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more

  • Bobby really knows how to capture and transmit sad times

  • es bastante dramático

  • This isnt the official vid

  • Only the Gorillaz combined with Bobby Womack can make me feel euphoric and depressed at the same time. Amazing song and video.

  • Brutal and haunting. So incredibly poignant.

  • Brutal and haunting.

  • gorillaz > life

  • This song is deep. Who would have known the Gorrilaz and Womack mixed so well?

  • Wow, this song is so appropriate for this video, i felt the sheer terror, ferocity and total hopelessness of the kamikaze and the naval fighters at the same time, such a desperate scenario.....

  • 

  • OHHHH I GET IT!!! THE END IS KINDA SHOWING THE SHORE FULL OF BROKEN PLANES AND STUFF,,, THIS IS THE BEGINING OF THE MAKING OF PLASTIC BEACH!!!! :DDDDDDDD

  • Breed, shop, kill.

  • greatest voice ever!!!

  • kamikaze pilots falling from the sky

  • I remember seeing this at the world tour, beautiful

  • Not only is this video about war, but it ties back to the plastic beach theme as well. All of the planes that get shot down fly into the ocean. At the end of the video, it shows various plane and helicopter parts gathering on a beach. It shows that war not only kills people, but the environment as well. Truely Heartbreaking.

  • T.T

  • Probably one of the best Songs of Plastic Beach.

  • ididnt know this song was about war. but i really llike it

  • @nakiyhatookool i think basically all gorillaz songs are about war.

  • Oh how we kill and watch so graciously from far away. The world open to another being where we have closed ourselves away from its mental integrity. Our hearts secluded and hidden, until the days where we've forgotten the very soul which had granted us sentience in the first place. Even up until our dieing warring moments or our simplistic death in peace and silence, do we find this cloud and finally understand the just what it is the morning truly brings?

  • were that choppers damaged or what?

  • @cicciosmanno I think that was during the Korean War and because they had to air drop people from South Korea to the US boats at one point due to North Korean offensive. I think the boat didn't support the amount of weight...This wasn't like 10/20 people, it was in the thousands....Just a guess though, I know something similar to this happened during the Korean war but I don't know if it was that in the video or not...

  • @cicciosmanno those helicopter are not really damaged they just use it to lighten the ship

  • @TheDarkshadow427 seems plausible but if they needed to lighten the ship why they didn't just take off , perhaps they were damaged or out of fuel .. though thanks : )

  • the planes are shot down like birds from the sky.

  • STUPENDA!!

  • well this is the life we must live in until we get on the cloud of unknowing aka heaven

but i dont see us changing anytime soon we will always stay under the clouds of smoke and death never to see the sunshine of peace again

  • well this is the life we must live in until we get on the cloud of unknowing aka heaven

  • First video on you tube that doesn't have 1 dislike that has over 90 'likes' Saw this band, or should i say 'group' live recently last year, blew my mind away, if i 'dare' say so myself, they are the Pink Floyd of a generation. Most people look past the real meaning of most songs and only hear the outer layer, the inner layer of music is whats counts, doesn't matter how music is made, just as long as it made with soul and what you truly believe in.

  • Seeing "Cloud of Unknowing" performed live is undoubtedly something you should do before you die. I can tell you this because I was at the show in Toronto. There are few things as moving and meaningful from and emotional and artistic perspective - or at least to me anyway.

  • but the problem is the song fits the vid cause the carrier crews were always on look out for kamakiazis so the cloud of unkowing is pretty fiting

  • "And you must step above it stoutly but deftly, with a devout and delightful stirring of love, and struggle to pierce that darkness above you; and beat on that thick cloud of unknowing with a sharp dart of longing love, and do not give up, whatever happens."

  • they wernt cowards they where fuckin crazy hahahaha

now when they will blow them selfs up and there family to avoid capture since it would be a dishonor is cowardice

  • I think this beautifully illustrates the stupidity of war. Peace is never achieved with war just the inevitable chain of resentment, revenge and death.

  • @PIECE2YOURMOTHA peace goes pretty much against human nature. humans are always trying to gain power over each other. we are a very self destructing species

  • I'd love to see this top the charts, take that crappy Pop artist!

  • When Bobby did this song, he came out saying, "it is great, super great, to be back in Seattle..." Thing is, we were in Denver...

    Oh well, still love him!

  • crazy ass footage..

  • I thought that this was incredible when performed on the tour as part of the encore. For me Womack's voice is far more interesting, is better used and more powerful here than on 'Stylo'.

  • @richardjgibson Me too... I was in Denver, and they just ended after an hour... then he came out and I was like "YEA!!!"

"It is great, no super great, to be back in Seattle!" Sorry, He called us Seattle when we were in Denver!

  • A song so good to leave a great memory embedded into someones mind

  • I wouldn't mind dying to this song.

  • The hell is this??? japanese footage from pearl harbour? Very artistic, but deeply sad

  • its disturbing at 0:49 the expression on the guys face. i guess he wouldnt really realise what he's doing.

  • the guy at 0:50 looks like a super bad-ass

  • @bossazkit isnt that a women? i seen boobs xD?

  • when i see this video..i want.......waffles!!!

    (great video =3 )

  • 0:52 " GET SOME. GET SOME. GET SOME!" lmfao

i saw this video at a live concert on mushrooms and it changed me.

  • if you dont find this video beautifully disturbing, just remember whenever you see one of those planes blow up, thats the point where a real person died.

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 or parachuted out

  • @USEPartyPeople its the pacific none of those cowardly japs ejected

  • @fallout3beast128 Quite ignorant of you calling the japanese fighters cowards.

  • @DonnieDonkero how is it ignorant enlighten me

  • @fallout3beast128 any sane person who accepts death so willingly can't be called a coward. I dont respect what the japanese did at pearl harbour, but to call them cowards is highly ignorant

  • @TheViolentPacifist77

Word. If you were at Coachella when they did this you would have a ridiculous appreciation for it, even more so that you do now. I'm pretty sure the first 15 or so rows were in tears. Best show of my life.

  • @TheViolentPacifist77

You said exactly what I was thinking.

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 don't forget that if those planes don't unfortinutly explode, it will purposely fly into a ship where that will be the point where many persons died to protect freedom.

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 its war.....as world citizens we've grown all too accustom to the atrocities of it

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 If they're in a zero...I don't care.

  • @banksalott1 how could you say that those people had families too look that dead mans 6 yr old daughter in the eyes and saw i dont care hes dead

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 hm thats right...but i ask me: who record that, and how Gorillaz get those records o.O

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 brain and eyes watch tv....tv make picture....brain an eyes watch picture, see plane crash....see people in plane crash

  • wow crazy asss video, good song, good video . or maybe its cuz im SSTTTTTTTTTOOOONNNNNNNEEEEEEDDDD

  • where the hell jamie get those videos??? this is brilliant!!!!

  • i love the videos. how they give you a piece the of the story of what plastic beach is

  • In this jungle they are THE GORILLAZ for real.

  • I just realized that my chemistry teacher sounds just like Bobby Womack.

  • @XxIronSpiderxX

Bobby Womack's my Chemistry teacher. ;-)

  • @XxIronSpiderxX LOL can he sing?

  • @unspokenrespect Very well actually

  • @XxIronSpiderxX thats cool

  • @XxIronSpiderxX haha you lucky guy!

  • WHAT A SAD SONG THE GORILLAZ MADE WITH Bobby Womack

  • when i se this vid and hear this song i see god suinging this saying that to us im gonna

  • an absolute masterpiece

  • i think its funny how this is sort of a love song and theres all this fighting and guns and fire and stuff :)

  • In my opinion its a war song...Filled with hope for "What the morning brings, sunshine on its wings" and also all the dead soldiers are the satellites watching on the cloud of unknowing (heaven). "All the days are forgetting, they've gone it with the tide" could mean all the battles, bodies and memories of the men have been swept away with the tide...Or it could just be a kick ass song either way its beautiful.

  • I imagine sgt Johnson singing this

  • So relaxing ;)

  • good
