Very nice, but one quibble: "everyday" is written as one word rather than two, i.e. "every day.” As one word, everyday means "routine, usual, normal"; as two words, it means ’Sunday through Saturday.”

One of the Best ADVENT videos EVER! I'm sharing it with everyone on my Facebook, Twitter and well--everybody on my Addresss List! Great Work JOE! (Who is Joe? If you want to know ... check out BUSTED HALO.com)
A marvelous message. I put a link to it on my Episcopal church's Facebook page. (Incidentally, some churches use blue for Advent as Mary's color and to distinguish it from the purple of Lent).
While certainly entertaining and mostly correct, the piece doesn't address the "why". Why does God need to break into our lives? Why does God send Jesus?
(Advent is also about reflection on the realities of the human condition -our self-indulgence often prevents us from looking around and seeing the injustices of the world -poverty, violence, greed, etc. When these hit home, then we know we need help -from God- for resolution and hope.)
Never heard of the pink candle! Besides that: great video. Although the music and the speed was a bit too much - didn't really get everything. Advent has such a message that should get the time to sink in, in my opinion.
Really liked this -- a modern take on Advent that could easily be shared wtih those who have never heard of Advent! Thanks, Juan! Love and hugs! Renee
An excellent use of modern video technology to remind us of one of the most sacred and holiest religious season of the year. I enjoyed the music, the key words, the use of repitition to get the point across, and mostly the fact that you stressed it was about the coming of Jesus into our lives, and not shopping, stressing, and forgetting the true meaning of Advent. Thank you.
This was great! It should be a televised commercial, played on the big screen before every movie, displayed at the entrance of each mall and played at half time of all football games
@Trixi22A. Thank you for a good guess, but unless there's a Trans-Siberian version that I haven't heard, it's not them. The quest continues.
As for you, BrianColqate...really? Did you actually read what I asked or just want to give yourself a chance to say something smarmy? Who doesn't know who composed the original Nutcracker and when??
Regarding the purple in Advent mentioned below: yes, it used to be intentionally linked to the purple of penitential Lent, as it, too, has been considering a period of fasting.
Back in '78, the Lutherans in the USA, following at least one Scandinavian tradition, switched to blue for Advent -- a color of hope, which is why Mary is often dressed in blue in traditional paintings. Much more suitable.
Who can tell me the arranger/composer of the great version of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" that accompanies the video?? Thought it was Mannheim Steamroller's, but it is not...

Didn't the early Church view Advent as a mini-Lent? That's what I've been taught. I mean granted the season isn't as austere as Lent but isn't some form of penance a good thing in the Advent preparation? Many parishes do communal reconciliation services and if Advent isn't penitential then why is purple used (aside from being a color for royalty reminding us of Christ's royalty)? Other than that, this is a good video!
@Chente25 When we look ahead in Advent, both to Christmas and to the Final Coming, we cannot help but be drawn into repentance, because the manger must lead to the cross. It just does not have quite the same intense focus that Lent does on our sin and our need for repentance.
OMGosh, coolest vid on Advent EVER!!!!

Composer? Would Tchaikovsky be the name you're looking for? ;-)
“Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” is from Act II of “The Nutcracker,” which was given its première on 18 December 1892.

@Chente25 Yes it was viewed as a mini Lent in the early church and in many churches still is I believe.
