You don't need much electronics to do some circuit bending. I didn't even take one course or barely know what an amp was, and I was bending with good results.
i agree, just buy some 2ndhanded toys (keyboards) open them and connect the circuits, the only thing you have to do next when you have got a sound is to put buttons / screws or whatever on the bended circuit.
Usually I listen to modified or circuit bent things and think..yeah, clever but it's just noise now.
This however... is a good mod !!!!

@SONGSTICKS - it sends midi notes, a really neat little drum machine. I use it to control my Alesis HR16 sometimes as well.
