  • This is unbelievably beautiful

  • when did this came out?

  • I love Shyamalan's films because they're never predictable, the plotline is well thought-out and solid, and the characters grab your attention and pluck at your heartstrings. Most movies released today are boring, unoriginal, or have a painfully simple plot. Watching M. Night movies is like a breath of fresh air; they're pleasantly different from what we're used to. I believe Shyamalan is one of the greatest storytellers out there.

  • what? people say bad things about shamamalalmam? HE IS BRILLIANT. Only stupid people won't see the beauty in this film...

  • I watched this when I was really little and my mom cut if off because it was boring and a little scary, she thought. I was mad and crawled into the underspace beneath my bunk-desk bed where I hug up pictures of what I wanted to be and wrote letters to people that I didn't know. I started to wonder, why do people hate strange things. I guess that's why they hate me.

  • This was an AMAZING Movie. Cinematic Art at its finest.

  • luv 1:31 favorite part. :3

  • runescape music.. :(

  • I wish this track just kept on going

  • @08hunnybunny80 In my world it does. =]

  • I never understood the movie, but the music is magicaly beautiful

  • 0:00-0:14 sounds like part of a song from Fable

    Beautiful song :)

  • @Ziffaroo YES! So i'm not crazy. I thought the EXACT same thing and tried to find it on youtube to compare, i just could never find it. okay, i can sleep soundly now.

  • @Ziffaroo Same thing as i always think when i hear that part!

  • Always, this song makes me cry.

  • This and the scene with the Great Eatlon are my most favorite scenes in the film. Shyamalan is one of the GREATEST filmmakers/storytellers of all time!

  • 4 ever Epic

  • james is the legend !!

  • James Newton Howard is the best. Signs and LITW have some of the most gorgeous soundtracks I've ever heard. I also like that no songs, just scores, are used. it's unique.

  • Marvellous. I really love this song ! <3

  • 2 people drowned.

  • sounds like fable music

  • One of my fave movies and soundtracks ;0

  • Wonderful !

  • I Gave Them Love, They send me to Hate

  • favorite part 2:15-2:45 <3

  • @nadali91 it's a bit sad but then comes the glorious ray of hope.

  • i love this song

  • One night I was with my family in downtown and I had some part of this in my head (the part starting a 2:17) and kept repeating over and over and i was killing myself trying to figure out when I'd heard it and one day it hit me. it's sooo good.

  • @413bloodflowers Favorite part. <3

  • very spiritually uplifting

  • One of my all time favorite films. The Sixth Sense wasn't a movie in comparision. The message of Lady In The Water is so strong and clear. Such a powerful film should be shown much more often.

  • I love lady in the water i think it and sixth sense are M. Night Shyamalan's greatest movies...after these the others aren't so good.

  • People are way to harsh on this movie. Yes, they do need to change stuff in it, but over all I think Lady in the Water got a bum rap.

  • i loved Lady in the Water its one of my favorites and Story was just beautiful

    M Night Shyamalan is amazing

  • never seen the film but the sound track is awsome :)

  • i love 1:30 <33

  • I actually loved TLA. I love all of M. Night Shyamalan's work, and this is one of my favorite films from him. It is so different from the movies we usually see on the screen today. It just seems like people have lost touch with their magical, innocent side.

But to me, this is one of the most beautiful stories told. I will always love his work because he gives us something new each time.

  • It's so unfair that this score didn't had a Oscar nomination. I think that the time is going to put this movie in the place we're it belongs.

  • An utter masterpiece and nothing less =]

  • I have never cried during a song or a movie until now.... <3

  • it just puts me in awe. a masterpiece. beyond my understanding.

  • this kinda reminds me of the game Fable, the first one, when your wandering around doing quests...kinda the same sound track if anyone notices.

  • @butter12420 I was JUST thinking about that. Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that.

  • Plus actually I think maybe also the problem with Shyamalan is he doesn't WANT something to be not 'epic'....which makes his stuff so forced. He wants it to be so epic he makes up silhouettes of 'epic stories' but totally misses the point why those old stories were epic in the first place. The biggest proof was his last adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Shyamalan just thought 'EPIC' but didn't understand why.

  • it really upsets me when everybody says this movie is one of the reason's M. Night Shyamalan's career is down the hole. This movie is brilliant and so is the rest of Shyamalan's work, i don't care what people think. I guess the only movies people are happy with these days are about superheroes, giant robots, and the apocalypse.

  • @KrystalKobra

I don't even know what this movie is about, but i love his work

  • @KrystalKobra SO TRUE! That movie has such a deep meaning!

  • @KrystalKobra I know. Everyone should have exactly the same opinions as you, because if they don't, they're clearly retarded and have no taste in film. I AM ROLLING MY EYES AT YOU!

  • @KrystalKobra I love movies that aren't about giant robots and the apocalypse, I just don't like Shyamalans movies (actually I don't like the Sixth sense either) because they just don't move me personally, there's something about the script, the acting around him...I think the main thing I miss with him is the sense of detail he lacks....well, that's my opinion.

(And you can't defend the last Airbender though! I think)

I like the music though :P.

  • @KrystalKobra

People also don't like things that arnt spoon fed to them

  • @KrystalKobra because those kinds of movies don't require them to think

  • @KrystalKobra I love this movie. I couldn't stop watching it!

  • @KrystalKobra exactly. i personally don't think night ever gave a crap about his "career". he's only ever cared about making incredible, original, artistic films.

  • @KrystalKobra

Honestly most people I know who don't like his movies, I show them this one, and they will say things like. " This is his only good one." I've never met someone who didn't like this one. =)

  • @KrystalKobra you are so right i mean its perfect

  • Part 1:30 - 1:52 reminds me from another song of him.

Im really searching for it and I can't find it.

    Can anyone help me?

  • @Liantjuh555 i think is from the trailer from "the life before her eyes" it sounds very familiar to me too

  • @Liantjuh555

yes it's te same as "A dilemma" from Danny elfman in hellboy 2

  • @Liantjuh555 i suggest you look up a list of movies that he has composed music for and then look up the music for each one...

  • @Liantjuh555 It sounded like it was from this same movie just a different piece of music. I believe it was part of The Healing? Thats what it sounded like to me.

  • why can't I write something like this?

  • Holas

    Música bellísima.

    Adiós.

  • Reminds me a little of the Village soundtrack.

  • @Winduct the guy who wrote lady in the water also wrote the village....i havent seen that movie in ages now that i think of it QUICK TO BLOCKBUSTER!

    FWOOOOOOOOOOSH!

  • @Nyanasama Yes i know, James Newton Howard, he is a close friend of Shyamalan. The Village was excellentand the score was even better

  • Why am I reminded of the animated "Fern Gully" ? Loss of our innocent beginnings? Paradise?Eden lost?

  • my favorite scene is the healing; man i just can't contain it.

giamatti was unbelievable in it. i felt his pain and loss.

    <3 LADY IN THE WATER!

  • i loved he movie i didnt care if everyone didnt. it was very artistic and kindof like a dark fairytale

  • *sigh*

  • 1:30 ftw!

  • I think after 2:17 it gets really great

  • Is James Newton Howard related to Bryce Dallas Howard?

  • @kronosleblu888 sadly no, Bryce Dallas Howard is the daughter of Director Ron Howard

  • But man, may have forgotten how to listen.

  • I cried through the whole song while watching the film.

  • i love this sound track its so magical sounding......

  • @mikrovalovka The movie is amazing, get a clue!

  • I loved this movie is so amazing and beutifull....it's awsome at 1:31

  • don't like the movie but soundtrack is a.m.a.z.i.n.g! two thumbs up, newton howard!

  • While it is a really great soul stiring peice of music, i don't know if i would walk down the isle to it. It's a bit too spooky for my tastes, but hey i wish you all the best.

  • i like to listen to this song when its raining,, so facinating..

  • that's the best time to listen to it :D

  • @nebulalovestars the first time i watched this movie was during a thunderstorm, i had goosebumps and prickly hairs standing on their ends for the entire duration.

  • @nebulalovestars the first time i watched this movie was during a thunderstorm, i had goosebumps and prickly hairs standing on their ends for the entire duration.

  • I have never seen the movie. I stumbled across the track "The Great Eatlon" one day and thought, "What is that wonderful music?" I now have the soundtrack and love it. It has inspired some of my writing.

  • @AvatarYoda You write music?

  • @GhostPlanetFilms

Novel writing. I hear music and scenes come into my head. Sometimes they have nothing to do with the lyrics/notes, other times they go along with the rise and fall of the music. No, I don't write music. I play violin, but I've never composed anything for it.

  • @AvatarYoda The soundtrack is infinitely better than the movie. I am glad that you found such wonderful music.

  • @AvatarYoda What type of writing do you do? Have you had anything published?

  • Great music, can see the musician doing something great on a video game if he wished.

  • this music is amazing, this is why James Newton Howard is my favorite.

  • wonderful music

  • this movie is absolutely amazing

    great music too

    LadyWater

  • when I listen to her/it, the first thing that comes me to mind, and that I am listening to a music of the angels or the church or something of the kind,

  • when I listen to her/it, the first thing that comes me to mind, and that I am listening to a music of the angels or the church or something of the kind, what I want to know to that type of music and: pop hard jazz you have understood my question. thanks

  • Great piece of music.. James Newton Howard is a master. For some reason this piece reminds me of the orchestral side of Nightwish.. this tune would fit a Nightwish album perfectly ;)

  • my favorite part is between 1:29 and 1:53 ... <3'~ *love it*

  • @OmiDieNoese I totally agree! That piano-thing is stuck in my head for two days! But I don't mind, it's so beautiful..

  • i love it, but another great piece is "rue des cascades" of yann tiersen, i love him as musician as well <3'~

  • 2:16 to the end is like the best music I have ever heard.

  • the beginning is like one of the titanic musics lol

  • Actually it sounds like fable... if u've ever played the game :P

  • omg i really love this game!! i played fable 1 more than 90 hours! fable 2 is a little bit... (sorry) boring. but i played it more than 60 hours xD

i'm lovin' it *tada ta ta* FABLE ^^

  • 1 of the best soundtracks, love it !

  • I LOVE this song! In January, I will be walking down the aisle to it!

  • wow, really? that's great - this song is touching.

  • That's so romantic!

  • gives me chills...i would like to see this walk. u may seem that ur floating due to the soundtrack.

  • Seriously? thats awesome! Are you just gonna loop a certain part you like o the song over and over or you just letting it play all the way through?

  • @ZeldaOot86,

I let it play all the way through once. There was three women in my wedding party and then me, and the aisle wasn't very long.

  • Oh, how cute!

  • @NotNadiaK Creepy choice of music to be married too.

  • @NotNadiaK

just curious.....did you get married yet?

  • @molibya,

Yes, I got married January 30th, 2010 and we are now coming up on our one year anniversary. I came down the aisle at the crescendo at 1:53.

  • @NotNadiaK oh wow!! can you post it on Youtube???

  • i have seen this movie its realy good

  • havent seen the movie, just love this soundtrack.

  • I didn't notice how beautiful the music was when I was watching the film :)

  • the music is really subtle, huh. :) It's goooood! The movie too.

  • @oneeyedpigeon You know when the music is good, when you get chills down your spine from the scene its in :)

  • @oneeyedpigeon nobody actually does, when people see a movie they only see the actros and then scenes

  • @iluvrock92 Thats quite incorrect. Those that see are those that look to see.

  • @iluvrock92 That's not true at all, some people enter into the feeling a movie seeks to project and lose themselves in it. Only people who keep themselves conscious of the fact that a motion picture is a fictional production see things that way. That would be like reading a book and thinking to yourself with every line 'Wow, I bet Charles Dickens was in a leather-bound armchair when he wrote this', it completely distances you from the point and purpose of art.

  • I LOVE from 2:18 to the end the best! btw, yay, first comment!
