I didn't like this game very much. For some reason I found it SO much harder to get into than the first to. And i was not a big fan of the controls. I prefer the controls the first two games had.
It's much better than Prime 3. It's just hella hard the first time you play it. Prime 3 has a lot less exploration than the previous Prime games and you don't get the feeling you're on a deserted planet anymore. Plus it's way too easy IMO. Still a great game never the less, but I liked the first 2 Prime games better.

I actually think that Prime 2 was the longest of the 3 personally. I got through Prime 3 the fastest and only missed one missile in the entire game. Prime 2 took me like 20 hours and I only had like 60%. Maybe I just got better, but I still think Prime 2 was hardest and longest.

I think i've discovered the reason for your lever problem. It seems to work perfectly for me every time because you have to keep the curser on-screen when performing these actions and as you see in the video, his curser goes off screen a lot while attempting to do the action. So to be honest, I think it's just the fault of the people playing rather than the fault of the game.

One issue for me is that Corruption depends way too much on the Phazon mode, you encounter an enemy he pumps himself full of Phazon then your beam turns crappy then pump yourself full of Phazon and waste a energy tank.
The thing repeats itself way too much, especially with the Space Pirates (Phazon Addicts) but the bosses were really fun (Except Mogenar and Defense Drone, I fucking hate those two) good game nonetheless
i think the reason why you don't like this game as much as the previous games is because of the lack of atmosphere and the sense of isolation which for me defined the previous games. In the previous games you had a feeling of loneliness , and the world was very dark, but in this game you're constantly talking to other characters, and the whole game is very bright and colorful which for me ruined the AMAZING atmosphere that was presented in the 2 previous games.
The reason I thought this game was worst then prime 1 and 2 were that it is much more linear then those games. Your experience with the game may vary but I always felt like the Aurora Unit was holding my hand too much to where I needed to go but I still really like game

@suitable76 in Wiis defense PS3 uses Blu-ray, and the Wii hardware is just no where near the ps3s (I see flames in the near future) that said yeah, he probably should have said 'for a wii game' because it is entirely true, I would say the wii hardware when pushed comes close to 360 though

I too had problems with the levers! and I agree with you when you said that it wasnt linear at alllll. I had problems with that, I never had a clue where i was suppose to go or what I was suppose to do and that bugged me so much that I quit playing the game.
I thought metroid prime 3 was a great game, too. My only complaint is the darn grapple lasso. It was totally not necessary and the control for it is awful, especially if you don't have a good spot for your sensor bar.

well I beated this game when I was 10 years old and honestly you are right you do need to have a lot of pacience to beat it, this was my first metroid game and I got so overwhelmed at times that I just took the disc out of my wii and put it again 5 months later
After the ship was destroyed in the first level when I ran out of time to work out what to do, I gave up. You're right, you do need a lot of patience.....
3:41 it took me a long time to figure out that it dont use the motion controls to do those parts it uses the sencer bar for that type of stuff now its so easy to do those parts now!
I know this may not be true.. but I've heard online that you can use the motion plus if that helps with the motion controls... (that's what I've heard and seen at demo spots where they have the motion plus connected...) Hope I've helped :)
This kind of game is called a metrovania game. This genre was created after the first Metroid game came out becauseof the open world evironment with a plethera of puzzles.

@JackChaseStudios Nothing wrong with starting with this, but if you can get your hands on it I'd start with Metroid Prime 1 from The Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii.

@FreQuenczy Speaking boring (oops did I just say boring? LOL) did you play Metroid Other M? I like it. Other M has a great design that directs you yet allows back tracking. It has Items clearly marked on the map, as well as Plot turning points. For all points and purposes, an Arcade Metroid reminiscent of CADASH (did I just say CADASH??LOL). as for Prime 3, I liked it, but quite on the primes 1 and 2, I may have to get the Trilogy one day.
So its the, "When you were little, going in the bouncy castle, but jumping in it was so fun, so this other fat kid wanted to join, and he popped it" kind of overwhelming?
The exploring part reminds me of little king's story, at first you instantly had half the world, and after you beat onii king your reduced to 21%(or so.) That just made me feel alot more nervous. It doesn't help the fact that the game is sometimes difficult.
Actually, in Metroid Prime, there is voice action. When you are fighting the Omega Pirate, when he summons the other space pirates, you can hear him say "FINISH HER!" Just thought I'd point that out.
Wait a minute. There are tons of people who say MP3 is too linear compared to the other 2 (even I, myself, found MP3 to be linear compared to the other 2), and now somebody's saying that the exploration in MP3 is too overwhelming compared to the other 2?
I loved this and Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on the other hand is probably one game I will hate for the rest of my life. God that game is awful.

I still have to beat the game, (allthough i am very near the end) but i know what you mean about it not being as fun an one and two (even though i still havent completed 2). I think its because combat became a bigger part of the game, but they dumbed it down with the one weapon thing, and also the bosses got easier as you went through, the graphics, while brilliant, wernt diverse enough, the game was easier that 1 and 2, they didnt hide the upgrades as well as before. I still love it though.

@JackChaseStudios Nothing wrong with starting with this, but if you can get your hands on it I'd start with Metroid Prime 1 from The Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii.

so in your opinion, it is more clear in prime 1 and 2 what to do, then in prime 3? because thats not true, for sure. in the first 2 games, you dont get any information, to what to do. you just land on a random planet and go find some stuff. in prime 3, there is actually a reason for every task, you have to do. there is also a better hint system in prime 3. its much more linear than 1 and 2. especcially 2. that game is confusing as hell...
also, the motion controls worked for me well.

Yeah I love the exploration in games, I just dont like TOO much backtracking. That's the only downside of the Metroid series...there's a litttttle too much haha. :P

I think the main reason you didn't enjoy Corruption as much as Prime 1 & 2 is because of how the story is driven. It gives the game a more Halo-esque feeling, which not everyone like.Solid review FQ

@rotate1950 No, no, no. I was stating that since there is so much to explore, it can become overwhelming to some people, and that this game isn't for people who don't care to explore too much. I'm kind of 50-50 on this issue. I love exploring, but I did become a little overwhelmed every now and then which decreased the fun factor of the game for me.

@FreQuenczy Speaking boring (oops did I just say boring? LOL) did you play Metroid Other M? I like it. Other M has a great design that directs you yet allows back tracking. It has Items clearly marked on the map, as well as Plot turning points. For all points and purposes, an Arcade Metroid reminiscent of CADASH (did I just say CADASH??LOL). as for Prime 3, I liked it, but quite on the primes 1 and 2, I may have to get the Trilogy one day.

The exploring part reminds me of little king's story, at first you instantly had half the world, and after you beat onii king your reduced to 21%(or so.) That just made me feel alot more nervous. It doesn't help the fact that the game is sometimes difficult.

Actually, in Metroid Prime, there is voice action. When you are fighting the Omega Pirate, when he summons the other space pirates, you can hear him say "FINISH HER!" Just thought I'd point that out.

Wait a minute. There are tons of people who say MP3 is too linear compared to the other 2 (even I, myself, found MP3 to be linear compared to the other 2), and now somebody's saying that the exploration in MP3 is too overwhelming compared to the other 2?

I still have to beat the game, (allthough i am very near the end) but i know what you mean about it not being as fun an one and two (even though i still havent completed 2). I think its because combat became a bigger part of the game, but they dumbed it down with the one weapon thing, and also the bosses got easier as you went through, the graphics, while brilliant, wernt diverse enough, the game was easier that 1 and 2, they didnt hide the upgrades as well as before. I still love it though.
