@mikeyowns23 Yeah he was before his time......WAY before his time. It's also the popularity contest. Great music like his always seem to get lost that way.
When Shawn Mullins Soul's Core album came out years ago, I soaked it up like a kid drinking coolade! Shawn has been a huge impact upon my musical life. He is so pure and lyrical its infectuous. It is obvious from his music that he has connected to his soul, and it emulates in his musical genious. My niece now has a husband, who just yesterday asked me for some good music to learn to play guitar by, it was easy to say Shawn Mullin's Soul's core album! Thank you Shawn!
I grew up in Alabama on a dirt road, and this song brings back so many memories with my best friend David (funny they both start with a "D" and we're a boy and girl" Pretty much everything he sings about is a childhood memory...and ive always looked down upon my childhood and where I grew up (I guess trying to hide i) but this song makes me appreciate the beauty in the simple life that I had...and that most of my family still has.
Oh my god, so much nostalgy involved in this. There I was in high school listening to the Soul`s Core -album, this as my favorite piece. Little did I know that 10 years later I would own all Shawn`s albums I could get my hands on and still listen to this. This being said from thousands of miles away from Atlanta...
Shawn Mullins needs a real PR specialist, but if his label doesn't back him, he'll never be visible to the masses. He's been around for a long time and I think he's one of the most brilliant songwriters of our time. He deserves more respect.
I don't get how someone could give something like this a thumbs down. If you don't like it, that's cool, but how can you hate it or not like it to the point of giving it bad rep. Some people have no respect, and no taste in talent, art, or music.
I absolutely love this guy! I wish he had more music out. The words to his songs are so amazing. Gives me shivers and brings tears to my eyes. Such an awesome sound he has!!!
I LOVE this CD. I love the new one too. Homeless Joe is soooo cool rofl. but i have to admit he looked better with long hair. BUT HES SO INPiRATIONAL! <3 this song
This song and the entire Soul's Core album will forever be apart of my life. I can take any song and apply it to a memory or event from my past. This is Inspirational music at it's finest...
he is just simply "greatness"

Believe me - he's not 'more popular' because he's too dangerous; record execs don't really want talent, they want power.

i don't think anyone has shaped me as a person through his/her music than shawn mullins. my writing, too. he's a rare breed of human.

Seems to me Shawn's a receptive soul.
Maybe he's never "met" the people
he sings about at all, but he does tune into the experiences of many people, their feelings, their lives, like a good novelist
also tunes into the experiences of people, their souls..
