I was skeptical of the quality of this movie at first, but its actually very well made and entertaining, and full of awesome moments. 5 stars for the music video
This doesn't resemble the Matrix at all, the director said himself that the Gun katas was a form of combat that avoided the use of hand to hand or the use of bullettime. Notice how you only see John Preston (Christian Bale) ever use his fists only once or twice, and he never uses bullet time in the movie, whereas in the Matrix, theres tons of hand to hand fighting and bullet time. These movies are very far apart in terms of combat sequences.
The only time theres bullet time is when the movie slows down so you can see the bullets ejecting out of Preston's gun thats it. Plus thats not even close to bullet time. More like just a slowed down part.
wasn't Equilibrium wrote by the director of this film, if the film was wrote before the Matrix then no one should say it's a copy. Both films are great in their own rights.
apart from the end of the fight with Taye Diggs in the training place (shoulda cut somewhere else earlier as soon as the music changes) that was a pretty slick music video! Great editing! :)

Look at the Bourne series...I love the fight scenes in those movies because they actually hide the things that show it was choreographed. And they are more realistic than these fights. These fights are pretty much just showing off for the audience, horribly. When he is shooting like 6 guys with two pistols? Come on, did you have to do the not-so-cool swirly move and put the pistols the way you did?
Well no matter what you think the movies fight scenes are bad ass, and that is what they are meant to be "cool looking". I kindof dislike the shaky camera when fight scenes are being done in movies it gets annoying. Yes it hides things and makes the fight look more fast, brutal, and real but if I wanna see the real thing I will watch UFC lol. I watch movies to see something new/exciting I want to see a hero take on 6 guys at once, and I want to see him crack some skulls and look cool doing it.
The form they used in this movie really surpasses the old Chinese gunslinging flicks, a la John Woo, greatly. And then it takes alot from George Orwell's 1984.

It was a good idea, but there were no really cool shots, basically a low level philosophy lesson with bones breaking and heads being chopped off, not a bad movie if your looking for an action flick though.
