  • YOUR HAIR IS SO LONG NOW!!!! great job on the video.

  • @TheCrestsmile1922 thanks!

  • The pattern is wave, bone straight, wave in a few sections so I'm not ready to cut. It looks like all directions are pointing to the scissors *sigh*. I've been deep conditioning with everything under the sun and my pockets and I are tired. My inner PJ came out and I purchased the shampoo and conditioner. I'm a bit more curious at what will it do to my newly discovered porous hair. At the end of the day, I'm alone on this journey, am I'm right? thanks for vid :)

  • @rettabetta Awh, I'm so sorry. I know how you feel and you really aren't alone. There are a ton of us out here that have gone through the heat damage debacle. Sometimes it helps to know that you aren't the only one. While all signs point to cutting your hair, don't do it a second before you're ready, if you even decide to cut it at all. I wish you the best and let me know if you find anything that works! :)

  • @MyNaturalTransition :) thanks! I will be washing my twist this weekend with both Shampoo and conditioner.

  • thank you so much! I looked on amazon and there is a shampoo and conditioner for Roux. have you tried both products? Will it also work on heat damaged natural hair?

  • @rettabetta I haven't tried the shampoo, just the conditioner for in between washes, and in my opinion, it wouldn't be strong enough to correct actual heat damage. Is your damage severe? I had to cut mine off and start over:( I don't know of anything that will correct severe heat damage.

  • My hairdresser/bff just mentioned to me about using Roux like I use the cholesterol -- on my dry dirty hair. Also plaiting my hair at night and after washin/(twisting the ends helped tremendously. After washing works like a set. At night keeps it clumped. There's strength in clumping rather than each strand fending for itself. And only comb wet with condish. Glad I saw your video. BTW, I'm natural Full BSL with a bunch of different textures and porosity levels throughout my hair. Good luck.

  • @sayladytea Thank you for the tips! Somebody out there feels my pain, lol.

  • Me! Very porous hair. What has helped -- before shampooing I put a cholesterol condish on hair. Leave on at least 30 mins. Rinse, focusing on scalp. Shampoo scallp ONLY. Run a wide toothed shower comb from ends to middle to break up clumps while rinsing shampoo out. Then condition with a silicon conditioner (Silicon Mix De Perla). Rinse and use Garnier Triple Nutrition as my leave in conditioner. Basically my strands are never bare and theres protein in everything.
