As Jeremy Clarkson stated - the GTR created a new yardstick. The DCG transmission, launch control and it's Nurburgring numbers make it the car of the year (as it was for several magazines). Porsche PDK, Z06 (Z07) Carbon package, Ferrari 458, R8 V10 - all came about due to this car. You should thank Nissan - as we the consumers - win.

I just leased a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0T 4 Motion SEL this November. It is one of the best cars ever. I mean I went 80 mph with cruise set and you don't feel it. It feels like 35 mph. Volkswagen is a swell car. I currently own a 2008 BMW 328xi 6-speed manual with I-Drive. I want to buy it. The Tiguan is like a BMW X3, but the X3 was better. Yes, I know. It should be judged by class. If they said this is the "sports car" (far from supercar) of the year, I wouldn't disagree. But car of the year...no. only a small cliche of rich assholes will buy this car. It may be fast, but it isn't economical, fuel-efficient, and doesn't raise the bar on anything. I would also be just as upset if a corvette or viper won this "title", Personaly I would have gave it to the VW CC or Genesis.
The GTR IS a supercar, the numbers don't lie. What other supercars out there that can pull those numbers and still gets 16/21 mpg and only cost $80,000? If that's not raising the bar...I don't know what is.
The Genesis was the runner-up and it's definitely a worthy car but as for the VW CC, I still have mix feelings about it. The base model is not bad but to get the real version you gotta fork over $40,000 and it only has 80 more horse, which is not raising the bar at all.

Will, it depend on which Porsches, the only two that are consider supercar are the Carrera GT and the 911 GT2/GT3. The same goes with Nissan, the only one is the GTR R35. For me, price tag has nothing to do with supercars status...it's the numbers that matters because you can't call Bentley a supercar right?

My top speed was mach 2 (british airways concorde) so i definitely topped that.

I just leased a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0T 4 Motion SEL this November. It is one of the best cars ever. I mean I went 80 mph with cruise set and you don't feel it. It feels like 35 mph. Volkswagen is a swell car. I currently own a 2008 BMW 328xi 6-speed manual with I-Drive. I want to buy it. The Tiguan is like a BMW X3, but the X3 was better. I had aaccident with the Tiguan (old lady in a Oldsmobile hit the gas instead of the brake and kaboom, there goes my rear right quarter pannel). Tiguan.

you don't get it, do you? they weigh everything in. if you notice, all the cars are in different classes and it can't be any different at this stage of selection. they look for the car that advances its segment the most. if gt-r was going against a closely matched car it would've been decided in the earlier stage.

Yes, I know. It should be judged by class. If they said this is the "sports car" (far from supercar) of the year, I wouldn't disagree. The GTR IS a supercar, the numbers don't lie. What other supercars out there that can pull those numbers and still gets 16/21 mpg and only cost $80,000? If that's not raising the bar...I don't know what is.
The Genesis was the runner-up and it's definitely a worthy car but as for the VW CC, I still have mix feelings about it. The base model is not bad but to get the real version you gotta fork over $40,000 and it only has 80 more horse, which is not raising the bar at all.

I think the Genisis should have getten it. Just as refined as a Mercedes but 1/2 price. Not to mention that it comes in coupe or sedan. I love the style of the CC and I would take the turbo four over the v6.

Will, it depend on which Porsches, the only two that are consider supercar are the Carrera GT and the 911 GT2/GT3. The same goes with Nissan, the only one is the GTR R35. For me, price tag has nothing to do with supercars status...it's the numbers that matters because you can't call Bentley a supercar right?
For the money, I think the GTR still offers the driver more then any other cars. The Genesis would of won if the GTR didn't came out this year.

In japan, you can drive pretty much as fast as you want too, maybach's are boring, they're just there to transport $500,000 italian shoes. BMW's are driven by airheaded teens, Mercedes are for people with three balls... and audi is just there to make sure german, and italian supercar companies don't die. My top speed was mach 2 (british airways concorde) so i definitely topped that.

look up ZR1 drag race king. that video is also from mortor trend but notice how they do not use the ZR1 full launch power because mortor trend has something against the ZR1. i dont know if the driver sucks but the ZR1 does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds so that video is off.
