Hi there - nice video. I have one question: Can we successfully build installers from the DEBUG files as well? (If I want to install DEBUG builds on the target machine, which also has Visual Studio 2010...)?
@djsixottawa: hi, we can build installers from DEBUG files but these installers will contain the code of ur project too,so anyone can use ur code also. So,it is always advisable to use the installers from the RELEASE folder only...
@piyushagarwal11 : I have VS2010 Pro. I did an installer with DEBUG files. It did NOT include any source code. It gave me the option to choose which files I wanted packaged with it (dbg symbols, docs, etc... I just did NOT select "Source Code"). I'm my own customer, as I want to install DEBUG builds on different machines to avoid building time.
Now the next issue is that I'd like to have both DEBUG and RELEASE installers. How to do that and use DEBUG/RELEASE dependencies automatically?
@djsixottawa : you can make the installer as DEBUG/RELEASE by choosing the desired option from the drop down box just next to the START DEBUGGING(Green Right arrow)...
@piyushagarwal11 : Hi again - yes, I did try that, it was the obvious thing to do first. But somehow it doesn't work for me - it always includes the *debug* dependencies (DLLs) I've selected to include in my project, no matter if I select Debug or Release. Maybe there's something wrong in the way I've marked the DLLs I want to include?
1) Select Debug or Release using drop down next to the green arrow.
2) To have VS2010 properly select the right DEBUG or RELEASE DLL dependencies to include with the installer I have to go in Solution Explorer, and under the Deployment Project name, find "Detected Dependencies", right-click on it, and select "Refresh Dependencies". As soon as this is done the right DEBUG or RELEASE DLLs will be chosen when the installer is built.

@djsixottawa : I figured this one out:
1) Select Debug or Release using drop down next to the green arrow.
