Love this as a kid and I did have the toys also :) Jake was my favorite but I dont think it caught on like some toons did. I remember it was quite short lived..
ANYONE know the name of a cartoon that was a lot like Centurions, there was one episode where these massive polar bears attack the base, and one where they put these white wings on themselves like the centurions, but I don't think it was centurions though. If anyone has any suggestion PLEASE let me know, been looking for about 10 years now!
If you do Netflix they have a bundle of retro toons now. BraveStarr, Bill & Teds Excellent Adventures, Voltron (Vehicle and Lion version), He-Man, She-Ra, The Littles, Inspector Gadget, SHAZAM, Fat Albert from the 80s, Ghostbusters (Filmation). They invested in a ton of Filmmation properties. They had Jayce n the Wheeled Warriors, it expired :( Robotech is expiring July 1, hopefully it comes back. Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite. Stream them to put on Netflix's radar.
its strange.....i saw this as a repeat in the 90's and i rememberd it even more now i accadentaly found it in a serch !! just as i remember it! weird cool!!
I've racked my brains for years trying to remember the name of this show! I could only remember their catch phrase "Power x-TREME" and it brought me here. Thanks for uploading this.
The buildings do resemble; the city itself looks like New York, so the desing must have been intentional, but I don't think it was supposed to symbolise the real WTC.
There was this anime, Shin Getter Robo, in which giant human-piloted robots like Gundam's or Evangelion's; in one of the episodes scenes, they happen to fight in New York between a 100% drawing accurate Twin Towers, destroying parts of them. (I saw this episode 2 weeks after 9/11, btw)
If you go back and read what people said about the twin towers as apposed to what they say today it's completely different. Before 9/11 most people didn't like the towers, saying that they were ugly and ruined the NYC skyline. Now that the towers are gone most people say they miss them. Maybe back in the 80's it was kind of an in-joke or something, I can recall a few cartoons that had fights around the twin towers.
80's cartoons were definately the best. Nothing like it these days. I grew up on MASK, Transformers, Centurions, Thundercats, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and GI Joe.
I think i spent the first 10 years of my life thinking i could grow up to be a fucking robot. Reality sinks in now though. Sad times.
@remer83 I concur 100%! In ONE decade alone, a mass of incredible and advanced cartoons were birthed! Centurions was one of my favs too! Man, I'm so glad I was an 80's kid! I almost feel bad foir the kids today, the majority of their cartoons...well...SUCK!!! Lol
@remer83 I really don't think 80s cartoons were the best. But they did have a lot of interesting ideas. There were different types of hero stories, right now everyone seems to be doing superhero stories. The only action cartoon that was any different was cancelled.
OH SHIT!!!!! I had teh centurion sleeping bag, my parents threw it out when i was like 14. Bastards, i got it when i was like 5!! 80's cartoons are teh shit!

Ace McCloud, awesome name. All the cartoons these days they have pathetic names, either japanese inspired or some other idiocy.

Max Ray... brilliant sea operations commander...
Jake Rockwell... rugged land operations specialist...
Ace McCloud... daring air operations expert...
It seems author Tom Clancy used this series as his guide for creating paper-thin characters in his novels.

You can tell this was the days before PC gender bending became the dominant force in society. Look at those names - all Max Powers and Trent Steeles.
No Julians or other girly names there.
No siree bob.
