Ahoy Capt Rob. Yes, livingaboard. Did it for 30+ yrs on the West Coast. I don't know about the Gulf, but out West our major battle was with condensation, mold & mildew. Nothing really dried out. Insulation was the key. I'm asked "Why are you putting so much insulation in the Jani J?" I mention a saying we had out there: "How do you tell the livaboards at a party? The're the ones that smell like mildew." Sadly it's true, I've been one of them.
@hustn99 Ahoy Martin. Moisture is a big problem on the gulf coast too. Warm days, cool nights (relatively speaking) and near 100% humidity make for a damp boat. Bigger problem in the winter, the AC takes care of it now.
@fluxx23 Thanks, I know what you mean about the speech speed. With this kind of video, I was trying to stretch out the voice over speech to the length of the scenes rather than speaking quickly and having lots of dead air.
Ahoy!!!My hubby and I are planing on buying a boat and living aboard. Sadly it will be another 5 years but you videos and blogs keep us informed and focused! a new faithful follower! Arrrr!
Nice job Capt'n! That's a lot of elbow grease needed to clear out and remove all the old dried up silicone that's for sure. Finished product looks great! Arrrr
@NomadRip Ahoy James. Nope, they are all done. All 10 in total are done. The forward 4 done a couple of years ago, and the 4 aft (what's in the video) and 2 in the cockpit are all done!! Arrr.
