@FragrantRain it's not youtube going out of their way to take down random videos, they remove them when they get complaints. Granted, some of the takedown requests are bullshit and they don't even own the rights, but detecting such a thing or manually verifying each complaint is nigh impossible.

I am well aware of how the "Cease and desist" system works. That being aside the point; YouTube still houses copyrighted material which isn't supposed to be hosted here unofficially at all... because it's, you know, COPYRIGHTED. This is, of course, unless the people posting low quality lyric videos all have contracts with those that made the copyrights for the respective videos.
